Roti (chappati) puffs up... and I am not aware that tortilla does. There are no other added ingredients like baking soda (tortilla recipes may call for that) or yeast (like in pita bread). Roti dough is just plain wheat flour, water and salt to taste. Other than these differences, they are essentially the same!
Put the rolling pin in the fridge a few hours before using it sweety it wont stick.
