  • Very interesting :man play with nature inside concrete jungle.

  • well done.

  • Hi, I have the same barbeque grill that you have, and with an open fire, create over 95% charcoal, with less than 5% ash, from the entire fire. The key is to douse the embers immediately after they turn to charcoal, as every moment after, ash is formed. Also, one must burn materials with increasing diameter, then ramp down when burning the largest stock. Open fires can be the most efficient way to make charcoal, providing the fire is built with a focus on efficient burning.

  • to much wood for to little charcoal. It is better to use a design that burns all the woodgas and uses its heat to make mor charcoal.

A good video for explaining the proces though.

  • Thanks! That is a simple way to make biochar available to pretty much everyone. A clear and concise message, delivered by the cutest spokesperson for the process i've yet seen.

  • why you call it Biochar?

  • propaganda basically (we need it to). It´s becouse it has a good ecolgical impact and it does not pollute as the traditional method.

  • @Macrotodon organic material(biomass) charred

  • @reallygood45 this is the answer I was waiting for so long... Nevertheless in my questionI laid more stress on the prefix "bio" like in bio diesel or bio dimethyl aether or bio-energy industry and stuff like that.
