VAIou812.. Sorry for so many questions but my comp is messed up, therefore I wontbe able to upload any tracks.. Will that be a problem or all I really need is the tascam??? thanks a lot once again! :)
@VAIou812.. Thanks! Oh also.. I dont have any experience/knowledge/practice in using a recording system, how easy/hard will it be to learn how to use this device?
Ok.. I have a few ?'s before I buy this thing... I play Guitar, Own a bass and know how to use it (not an expert) and I have a drum set (again, not the best but I can keep a good beat)
I have a lot of song ideas and know the guitar n drums part...
Do you have to mix down each song as with the POS Comapct Flash portastudio which I have and which is a NIGHTMARE of time consumption to get your music out of the machine. It also has VERY POOR , ie. low, gain. I have to use a preamp to get things up to snuff.
i just got 1, too and i have to admit that after being a tape man this thing is great ea
sy to use and most of all sounds really clean and talk about an sd card i found 1 laying around in a junk drawer and i for the life of me didnt know what the heck it was for and i looked at it and it has 32 GB's talk about lucky...i love it, man really...really nice. i also noticed that the built in mics arent too shabby either
I got this thing a month ago and Its very convinient, I LOVE IT!!!!! The only problem is that I need to buy a larger sd card because i can only record 2-3 songs before its full. But other than that, it is a great portible system.
or Create a video response hey i am trying to upload some guitar tracks from my tascam to the computer to edit in audacity. whenever we try it doesnt work. does anyone know how to upload tracks through the usb onto ur computer???????
@skatinguitarist123 Just plug it into your computer and turn it on. Go to Windows Explorer. Look for the DP-008 drive. Not sure what it's called, but it should be obvious. You can find your tracks or WAV files in there and copy them to your desktop or whatever. If you computer can take the SD card, that makes it even easier. Just take out the SD card from your 8-track and put it in the computer.
I think about buying this unit and to used like a sequencer and recorder, because I read that there was a loop recording mode mode. is this true?
when, a track is recorded, we can move on the registration of the following while listening to the first and so on? and last question, how long maximum recording if it occupies the 8-track? thank you if you have time to answer me, but I have need to be informed before buying.
Does this mean a flash drive can connect to it, store the files on there, and then put it on a computer, or do you need a usb chord to connect the two?
@donmation i dont trust this machine. on my machine ive turned it on a few times and ill go into a song and ther will be like a 4 second clip from a totally different song layered on the song i just opened, itll be randomly positioned somewher throughout the song. ill be listening to it and all of a sudden it comes outta nowher and im like what the fuck is that shit. one of the times it wasnt even something i wrote it sounded like it rearanged the notes on one part of the song. me no likey
@donmation if you can only spend 300 tops though. then i would just buy it and hope for the best. youll get tracks outta it regardless. i was all excited when i got it and know i look at it and wanna spit on it. unless you know how to work these types of machines itll take you a few frustrating sessions before you get what you want outta it. the manual was usefull some of the time..CAREFULL WITH THE SD CARD I ACCIDENTLY ERASED 6 HOURS OF WORK. IT TOOK EVERYTHING IN ME NOT TO RIP MY EYES OUT

Question continued...
Will I be able to record all 4 instruments (I'm including 2 guitars) in this device?? Will I be able to edit one complete song in the tascam?

Can you get backing tracks from your computer? So you can like put it on one track and then add lots of vocals and extra instrumentals and stuff?
