Hum, it appears my posts aren't being posted. Anyway I'm an honors physics major and yeah I'm now in core classes. My big problem comes from linear algebra consisting of a ton of proofs compared to my multivariable vector calc class which is fairly straightforward. I was arguing with a mathematician friend over the merits of linear algebra, I maintain that as a physicist, practical math is more important than proofs and pure mathematics. And damn be those evil vector spaces!!
Well I personally dislike math and science, but proofs and theorems are the core of math. Without the proofs, you would have no basis on which to build upon. Physics for one, relies on many formulas in math that are able to predict change at a constant, along with variables. So on so forth. I hated physics and chemistry personally though. The only fun part about the class was I had an ex Los Alamos scientist as a professor and he baked up pies right before our tests. Damn they were good.
Yeah but the derivation of formulas for physicists and the derivation of formulas for math is usually rather different. Physics uses math as a means of achieving a result, mathematicians use math for the sake of confirming axioms and the like. I have no interest in establishing mathematical axioms, I care about actually learning stuff, so proofs hold far less interest to me than derivation. Hell, I enjoyed when I first learned how to derive the Lorentz transformations.
P.S. Chaz, keep up the good work on your videos. As you get older, you'll have something to look back at. If you make it big, these videos will be what Access Hollywood or Entertainment Tonight will air on your life story. Seriously though, you should look into theater or production if your Middle School or later on High School offers such Programs. Might even check out debate club, since you like politics. Maybe we'll be saying Chaz for President in 2030. Who Knows. Stick with your passions.

Long story short, you're stuck picking the less of the two evils. In this case, Obama is it, but I feel sick picking him. Neither are good choices to be quite honest. Too bad we don't have other parties switch power every 4th yr. Would keep things a bit more honest.
To be honest I actually like Obama's economic policies, I don't feel like I'm voting for the lesser of two evils. Yes, I'm aware he's smart and ambitious and that is potentially dangerous, but as far as his policies go, I actually like the man. Plus I'd give my left nut just to prevent a creationist like Palin becoming VP.
Ay, I don't like many things Obama has done personally. Telecom Immunity (McCain too). The fact he picked Biden, who has a long history of going against internet friendly laws. However, the Republicans do the same and far more. Less of the two evils as I said voting for Obama. Don't like either. I did vote for him btw, in my absentee ballot. However, it's not like im ecstatic about if he wins. It's 1000x better than McCain but far from IDEAL solution if that make sense.
There will always be things that I don't agree with politicians, I liked Bill Clinton but felt his republican like economic deregulation was a bit stupid (And bush took it and ran with it like an idiot), but I still can't end up liking Obama regardless. Perhaps I'm still young and naive, but I agree with him enough to want him as president rather than a lesser of two evils scenario. And while Biden doesn't care much for the net, Obama at least does support net neutrality.

You're picking the one who will screw you the least once they get elected. Congress basically makes the laws. The President merely signs off on them or vetos. Congress is the most important body. However, we should elect lobbyists. Those are the real scumbags bribing our politicians into making bad policy. Ah politics. Honest and Morality.. NOT.
Congress doesn't just basically make the laws, congress technically does, but the president does have a habit of drafting legislation that they want passed.
And yeah, Clinton may have started deregulation, but there's no doubt that Bush is to blame for our current mess. (Greenspan's "I'm surprised people can get greedy"...paraphrased... speech recently was absurd)

.. All politicians are corrupt. There's a wonderful saying. Any Politician that wants the job shouldn't have it. No normal, moral, person would become a bureaucrat. Long story short, you're stuck picking the less of the two evils. In this case, Obama is it, but I feel sick picking him. Neither are good choices to be quite honest. Too bad we don't have other parties switch power every 4th yr. Would keep things a bit more honest.

To be honest I actually like Obama's economic policies, I don't feel like I'm voting for the lesser of two evils. Yes, I'm aware he's smart and ambitious and that is potentially dangerous, but as far as his policies go, I actually like the man. Plus I'd give my left nut just to prevent a creationist like Palin becoming VP.

Ay, I don't like many things Obama has done personally. Telecom Immunity (McCain too). The fact he picked Biden, who has a long history of going against internet friendly laws. However, the Republicans do the same and far more. Less of the two evils as I said voting for Obama. Don't like either. I did vote for him btw, in my absentee ballot. However, it's not like im ecstatic about if he wins. It's 1000x better than McCain but far from IDEAL solution if that make sense.

There will always be things that I don't agree with politicians, I liked Bill Clinton but felt his republican like economic deregulation was a bit stupid (And bush took it and ran with it like an idiot), but I still can't end up liking Obama regardless. Perhaps I'm still young and naive, but I agree with him enough to want him as president rather than a lesser of two evils scenario. And while Biden doesn't care much for the net, Obama at least does support net neutrality.

Well that's true. Bill Clinton made a bad decision with Deregulation. However, Congress (Republican fought tooth and nail for it). However, Clinton officiated it with his signature of course. Bush took the idea, granted, and screwed things up worse than humanly possible. I've hated Bush since the get go, unlike many others. McCain/Plain well they got stone age ideas. Obama, well I disagree with him and Biden a lot. When youve voted before, it's the lesser of the 2 evils. Sad to say these days.

Side post, the young and naive part... Well being this my third time voting for president (2000, 2004, 2008), I've come to realize it's a crap shoot. You're picking the one who will screw you the least once they get elected. Congress basically makes the laws. The President merely signs off on them or vetos. Congress is the most important body. However, we should elect lobbyists. Those are the real scumbags bribing our politicians into making bad policy. Ah politics. Honest and Morality.. NOT.

Congress doesn't just basically make the laws, congress technically does, but the president does have a habit of drafting legislation that they want passed.
And yeah, Clinton may have started deregulation, but there's no doubt that Bush is to blame for our current mess. (Greenspan's "I'm surprised people can get greedy"...paraphrased... speech recently was absurd)
Anyway I must say it feels bitterly ironic that I'm the young naive innocent one here when usually in my life I'm the cynic heh.
