If I live to be 100 I will never understand why anyone thought that Hardy was a good singer or actress. Yes, she was pretty, but back then beautiful women were very plentiful on the Big Screen...and many were more beautiful than Hardy.
Just when you thought "What's New Pussycat" couldn't possibly get any better, you discover Françoise Hardy at the end. For 25 years this has remained one of my all time favorite movies. Most I show it too don't like it, but that will never dissuade me.
that scene is the epitome of françoise. and i understand why she was such the object of desire for so many men...bowie,jagger & dylan. she is such a beauty but never tries to be one....she just is. mysterious with a bit of an aloofness.
What a great movie.... beautiful women (Ursula Andress is unbelievably sexy), great music. Life in the 60s in Paris. Doesn't get any better than that.
Mentioned this months ago on another video...Francoise Hardy would have been good in 'Breathless' with Richard Gere. Use to watch that as a teenager years ago, pretty sure the film was of French origin.
A little research shows Valérie Kaprisky played opposite Richard Gere in 'Breathless'. Kaprisky was born in 1962 whereas Francoise Hardy was born in 1944. But when considering the 1983 films storyline, a young aspiring female wasn't really all that necessary. Francoise would have been 39 then, and a mature woman could actually have brought more interest to the romance.
Yeah, Gere did better with older Lauren Hutton in 'American Gigolo', and older Marilu Henner in "Bloodbrothers'. He should have been with an older woman in 'Breathless'.
she kind of looks like carla bruni

Nice line. Nice reading.

It seems a very silly movie. But, then this was the 60s and a Hollywood movie at that. So, it doesn't really reflect the times. It's a comedy.
