Beautiful substitutions, I really enjoyed it. I'm curious about how you improvise them. Do you practice them in various keys or did they just come to you as you practiced and explored all the possibilities of the song?
thanks BillyC, glad you liked it! For learning this tune, I started off by reading the real book chart (chord symbols and melody) and then memorizing the chordal structure of the song. I did this by playing sections of it repeatedly at a slow tempo and gradually speeding it up until I could play the whole form knowing exactly what the underlying chords and melody are. I then kept the chords running through my head & trying playing around with substitutions, chromaticisms, and just experimenting!
I have been playing the piano for 13 years now (just classic) and two months ago I started Jazz/Improvising. I am playing this piece, too but I'm not as good as you are. Wow.
Thanks for this. I came back to jazz piano after many years I didn't play, and this is one of the standards I'm trying to play these days. VERY NICE work, and great ideas.
Very nice. Great ideas going on there....well played, IMHO. I'm a guitar student - working on a few standards including Tune Up, so my O is truly H, but I'm interested in ideas, and your version has given me a few.
what kind of sampler are you using!?

Thanks a lot ! Could You tell me what synth you are using to make this keyboard sound like a real piano ?

It's a Yamaha P90 keyboard. I am using the Piano 1 Sound from the keyboard recorded directly into my computer :)
