Okay, I'm probably gonna get shot down here but I'm pretty desperate. There was this one episode of G. I. Joe where... ugh, it's really a messy memory. Basically a small bit of it were a few of the Joes hiding inside a cart (with goods covering them) so they could enter through a gate... and I think they got one of the locals to push them through? And... there was a bit where they were on a ship and.... shit. AGH.

@iceo21 its Not propaganda, unless the propaganda they were pushing was "buy these toys".and atleast we gringos are boarder jumping jerks and i agree with you only halfly on brainwashing if its brainwashing you want go watch this 1 army cartoon but i forgot the name
Larry Hama created the Marvel GI Joe comic book series based on his original ideas for a Nick Fury: Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off series called "FURY FORCE." Without the comic book, there would've been no cartoons, no movie, no nothing, just some silly toys. Hama was a brilliant writer and the comics are 100 times better than the cartoons or the movie. If the studios just stick to the comic book storyline they'll make better films and better animation.
In the beginning, it was Cobra & Destro. Cobra was the organization - Destro supplied the weapons - and had a strong influence over strategy. As time went on, other players like Zartan, The Twins, and Doctor Bender came into play - so they shortened it to "Cobra - The Enemy!"
You sure about that? Was it confirmed in a particular episode? I want proof! I always thought Destro was a part of Cobra, I didnt know he had his own special title.
@kingofdepew Pretty much, hell in the comics he was known to supply both sides, work with the Joes a couple times, came to assist Hawk once, and stopped Baroness from killing Snake Eyes.
clearly in the 80's, they had the best drugs LOL,, cuz how do you explain them having the most imaginative minds on cartoons, songs, and movie concepts
@CertifiedOddBall you make a good point. The shit these days is very generic and has a different set of human ideals from the sort of cartoons that i grew up with, which emphasised trust, honour, and working towards a goal that is greater than the individual, rather than the latest fashion in clothes and what to do if the boy you like doesnt like you back.
@The95thRifles You probably mean Shoujo (anime for girls) or the American preteen or teen booper cartoon shows for girls (if they ever have one. I don't watch cartoons anymore these. Not because of maturity but the lack of quality & the edge).
@CertifiedOddBall yeah, the 80's was the pinnacle of drug abuse, even more so than the hippy times of the 60's and 70's, thanks to ronald reagan and his war on freedom, i mean drugs.
@CertifiedOddBall Maybe the producers & writers have become too old or lazy. Or they are overly concerned with reality, thinking that their viewers today, might scold them for disobeying the Laws of Physics & natural human reactions. LOL!

Gijoe Resolute is pretty good; even if the movie was bad. Hopefully they get a group of people who actually care about the characters and reboot the franchise. I mean look what it did for Batman.

lots of them are worth a shitload of money now. i remember i found two "send away" cobra commander in my attic years ago, checked it out and that shit was priced at $200 each.
I used to watch this cartoon religiously as a child but now that Im older and more educated I can see how messed up it was. Almost all of the villians have foreign accents and are considered terrorists and the goodies are all "american" military personnel. I wonder how many people my age joined the military because this cartoon influenced them.
What are you some kind of Obama commie lib? Seriously?!?!?!? YES...GI GOE is all American...and so should you be. If you have a problem with being gung ho all American than move. My father, grandfather and great grandfather and I for starters all served. If it wasnt for all American "goodies" you wouldnt be able to post your anti-American liberal comments on here. Move to Iraq or Iran then post back how its going.
Actually the US military blatantly discriminates against LGBT people and they dont fight for any of my rights I have to fight for them. And yes Im a liberal and damn proud of it.

it was a naive but beautiful time to be a kid in the states. now you can look back and see how fuct up some of it was, but for me that doesnt take too much away from it.
I'd like to claim responsibility, but my 4 year old made me get out my old GI Joe (RAH) toys. I've spent the last 2 hours dusting off everything and reassembling it all. I pulled up this vid for him and he was pointing out all the toys I have in it.
Your life must be awesome... No I'm not being sarcastic. I'm fucking serious. I lost my virginity in the back of a minivan while my friend was driving... I spent most of the time looking out the window. o__o
I wish i still had all my g.i. joe toys. I must had dozens of 'em, and vehicles too. All got lost or something over the years. Heh...memories. All the new toys are crap compared to the ones back in the day.
When i was little, this cartoon made me think about joining the army forces after high school. Then i found out about the real deal.....well you know what happened then...
Racism? Let's see....Stalker,Doc,Roadblock,Heavy Duty...African Americans....Quick Kick...Asian-American......Wetsuit and Shipwreck were Hispanic-Americans...Spirit was a Native American....Scarlet,Lady Jaye and Cover Girl...Women...Oh,yeah,it was practically the KKK...GROW THE F*** UP!!! YO JOE!!!!!!
Funny. I searched for Joe Caroon, and this came up.

I lost my virginity while the cartoon was on back in the day. As soon as the real action started (for me that is) I heard, "YOOOOOOOOOO...JOE!!!" :-)

Your life must be awesome... No I'm not being sarcastic. I'm fucking serious. I lost my virginity in the back of a minivan while my friend was driving... I spent most of the time looking out the window. o__o

Memories of childhood (sigh)
Can't believe the movie version of the film is going to have Channing Tatum (Step Up) as Duke. Oh well, I'll still see it.

I wish i still had all my g.i. joe toys. I must had dozens of 'em, and vehicles too. All got lost or something over the years. Heh...memories. All the new toys are crap compared to the ones back in the day.

and the quality of toys back then was the best!

Ever notice no one ever really died in this show... there were fire fights with cobra at like 15 feet sometimes and NO ONE GOT HIT OR DIED.
