  • Funny. I searched for Joe Caroon, and this came up.

  • FACT: g.i.joe killed osama bin laden while this theme was playing

  • Then he pushed the thought away. It's charm was deadly, it's comfort fatal.

  • Loved how every one in the cartoons could pilot a Skystriker or Dragonfly regardless of what their actual MOS was.

  • Always loved this theme from when I was a pup... And so we got PROGRAMED...

  • I remember singing this with my friends. You NEEDED friends to help you sing it.

  • Best cartoon series EVER!!!Much better than Garbage Bullshit Today!!!Movie from last year sucked though dissapointing

  • YO JOE!!! HELL YEAH! Nowadays, they would try to talk to cobra to make them realize that thay are wrong, and promise not to do it again. Then cobra commander and Duke would go on a date to clean up the mess their battle had made. 80's rules.

  • This is what GI Joe is. A real American hero, fighting for freedom against terrorism.

  • @Dash277 whether it be Al Queda or Cobra.

  • the movie is a complete insult to the original cartoon!!

  • This must have been before patriotism became politcally incorrect.

  • @neneshubby That is very true.

  • Meh. Sounded better as Action Force.

  • anyone that grew up in the 80's HAS to remember this!! AWESOME!!

  • I GREW UP WITH THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!

  • im 36 and still have all my joes in my fathers basement.ill never sell them !!

  • They should play every single episode in either cartoon network, Nick, IDGAF I WILL SIT THERE EVERY DAY AND WATCH GI JOE

  • @Angel0fDarkness78 I got the DVD set of the Sunbow (original ones) for my birthday this year.

    Loved it so hard.

  • Damn! Now that was a classic from my 80s days as a kid. I wish they'd air stuff like this on TV again.

  • @Dunes Can always catch the reruns on Hub.

  • YO JOE!

  • Wow, I really miss this!

  • The 8 malcontents who have officially disliked this video need the boots put to them!

And the shits who will officially dislike this video in the future are just as bad. Go ahead and click that down icon. Be a complete nancyboi. Just prove to everyone what a slimy putrid maggot you are.

  • and knowing is half the battle.... lol

  • Okay, I'm probably gonna get shot down here but I'm pretty desperate. There was this one episode of G. I. Joe where... ugh, it's really a messy memory. Basically a small bit of it were a few of the Joes hiding inside a cart (with goods covering them) so they could enter through a gate... and I think they got one of the locals to push them through? And... there was a bit where they were on a ship and.... shit. AGH.

Just... help me out with the name. I'm sure it was in the '85 series...

  • Erm. If it's any help, it may have been that episode where Lady Jaye is regressed into a child D:

  • they don't make cartoon's like they use to anymore :(

  • @bruteshot1 You sure as hell got that right. I mean..BEN 10,Total Dram Island. Dragon-watchamacclit Z?-heh. We need the classics again man!

  • @Dunes

while Dragonball Z didn't air in the US till the 1990s, you should realize it IS an 80s cartoon. It first aired in JAPAN in 1989

  • I think Destro was portrayed to be a black guy... is this true?

  • @kcheat99

    Cartoon? Maybe.

Any other version except his from G.I. Joe vol.2, Destro is a Causian Scottish man named James McCullen.

  • Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember that guy calling it an organ-i-zation ("organ-eye-zation", lol.) Does anybody else remember this?

    Or am I imagining things?

  • so you gringos are brainwashed since you are kids... fight the terrorist fight for freedom . the song misses the fight for oil part :P

  • "...and know you know, and knowing is half the battle."

  • @jrosas01 lol I still think that when someone says "well now you know" I just complete that phrase in my mind.

  • transformers was better

  • Yo Joe!

  • good old days

  • 80's babies up in here!! :)

  • Larry Hama created the Marvel GI Joe comic book series based on his original ideas for a Nick Fury: Agent Of S.H.I.E.L.D. spin-off series called "FURY FORCE." Without the comic book, there would've been no cartoons, no movie, no nothing, just some silly toys. Hama was a brilliant writer and the comics are 100 times better than the cartoons or the movie. If the studios just stick to the comic book storyline they'll make better films and better animation.

  • My brother is always singing this he also has it on

his phone & M.P.3 &,always plays it but I still like

it. Very good thumbs up. XD !!!

  • pure political propaganda

    LoL

  • No one ever dies in the cartoon.

  • bring back my old memories...one of my fav cartoon tv series

  • Why is it "GI Joe against Cobra and Destro"? Is Destro like his own entity? Was he sub-contracted by Cobra as an advisor or specialist?

  • HA!!! My thoughts exactly

  • savento was the specailist and scary as fook

  • @kingofdepew destro was a rungunner

  • In the beginning, it was Cobra & Destro. Cobra was the organization - Destro supplied the weapons - and had a strong influence over strategy. As time went on, other players like Zartan, The Twins, and Doctor Bender came into play - so they shortened it to "Cobra - The Enemy!"

  • You sure about that? Was it confirmed in a particular episode? I want proof! I always thought Destro was a part of Cobra, I didnt know he had his own special title.

  • @kingofdepew Pretty much, hell in the comics he was known to supply both sides, work with the Joes a couple times, came to assist Hawk once, and stopped Baroness from killing Snake Eyes.

  • Just a symbol to show that the americans can crush terrorism any day... It's scary how they affected allmost every american.

  • gi joe...another name for us army special forces

  • clearly in the 80's, they had the best drugs LOL,, cuz how do you explain them having the most imaginative minds on cartoons, songs, and movie concepts

  • @CertifiedOddBall you make a good point. The shit these days is very generic and has a different set of human ideals from the sort of cartoons that i grew up with, which emphasised trust, honour, and working towards a goal that is greater than the individual, rather than the latest fashion in clothes and what to do if the boy you like doesnt like you back.

  • @The95thRifles You probably mean Shoujo (anime for girls) or the American preteen or teen booper cartoon shows for girls (if they ever have one. I don't watch cartoons anymore these. Not because of maturity but the lack of quality & the edge).

  • @CertifiedOddBall

because without technology like their is today, they actually had to rely on creativity and talent in a more raw way.

  • @CertifiedOddBall

because back then, they didnt have the technology like we have today. they actually had to rely more on creativity and talent in a more raw way.

  • @CertifiedOddBall Like Destro using disco as an attire?

  • @CertifiedOddBall yeah, the 80's was the pinnacle of drug abuse, even more so than the hippy times of the 60's and 70's, thanks to ronald reagan and his war on freedom, i mean drugs.

  • @CertifiedOddBall Maybe the producers & writers have become too old or lazy. Or they are overly concerned with reality, thinking that their viewers today, might scold them for disobeying the Laws of Physics & natural human reactions. LOL!

  • we got gi joe in europe i remember watching it in the early 90's action figures were really popular some years after good timez...

  • agreed, I used to watch ninja turtles and all I wanted to do was eat pizza and and live in the sewer system. I guess I must be a 'low mind'

  • @sagejavier

The product of liberal engineering right there, javier. It's a cartoon that promoted patriotism and a love for freedom.

  • i agree is a cartoon and i loved it but when where kids we dint actually knew the whole truth

  • @sagejavier

LOL idiot, its only a cartoon..understand a CARTOON, u moron!

  • Anybody know why we never got this cartoon in Europe, we got the action figures but not the cartoon which is strange, and I remember the action figures were very popular, but we never got the cartoon itself for some reason.

  • This cartoon did make it to Europe. I remember watching it on Belgian, French & Dutch television.

  • If u really look G.i joe was basically propoganda thingie..

  • Gijoe Resolute is pretty good; even if the movie was bad. Hopefully they get a group of people who actually care about the characters and reboot the franchise. I mean look what it did for Batman.

  • as a kid, I never realized how bad the intro song was. MASK had the best song.

  • i was just thinking about the same thing..

  • lol, the film ruined it

  • G.I. Joe is a pile of Kak.

  • Amazing introduction... brings back memories... used to watch it when I was about 5 or 6 years of age...

  • The song was so patriotic lol.

  • haha right ... "'fighting for freedom over land or air" lol

  • why do they use lasers??

    bullets are better..

    more carnage..

    +++++deaths

  • When I was a kid, I used to think their guns had unlimited ammo because they didn't use bullets. I didn't understand basic physics.

  • do the lazer guns in your arsenal over heat and halt like in halo

  • A half hour of shooting lasers and missiles and not one person ever got killed? WTF!

  • G.I fail :D

  • the best cartoon of the 80s YO JOE

  • Was this series really that good. How come Sweden (where I live) never showed this show on their channels?

  • because you guys didn't get Sky Channel?

  • My Fav cartoon in my childhooddddd!!!

  • man i remember how they keep on missing with those lasers but still the childhood memories

  • oh my god, haven't seen this intro in years... just made up my mind to buy the season 1 dvd set that will be released in november.

  • now i recall the song~~~~~~~~~ haha!

  • I dont really remember those ironman suits in the movie in the cartoom

  • was any one hoping that america would lose and cobra would win, because cobra commander is just awesome.

  • Airing in late 1983, this was the first of two G I Joe mini-series, before it became an ongoing series in 1985. That animation was good enough for the big screen!

  • It was SO cool back then. I wonder what happened..........

  • The movie was gay!.. The cartoon however will always be a classic

  • @ImportMafia

o you mean like classic gay...

  • wow u nerd the g.i. joe animated MOVIE was better

  • OMG! I forgot that cobra commander fell in his hamsters plastic ball, and it got stuck on his head!

  • u maple story playn geek. if yur gonna make fun of gi joe then leave youtube and continue sucking dicks for a living

  • lol ha ha ha ha nicely put friend.YO JOE!!!!

  • even though i'm a kid of the 90's and DAMN PROUD OF IT, i EVNVYYYY yur movies and cartoons dude. i wish that i could live at least one month in the 80's

  • This and my dad being in the Army is why I joined !! LOL its kewl to see they finally made a movie!

  • watched the cartoon in 80s and now the real life movie... its a cool movie... didnt thrown off from the storyline... and to described it... its still a childish movie, but still its cool... some original characters are introduced in the movie. XD

  • i can't remember...

  • oh boy I remember these gay ass cartoons I loved watching when I was a kid...LOL

  • WHAT???/ G.I. JOE WAS THE SHIT!

  • The song and music is so stupid. The cartoon was cool though.

  • Lol I liked it because I use to fight in front of the tv and get all hyped when the song came on XD thinking about it now...its just embarasing XD

  • Recently Teletoon Retro showed 24 hrs straight of G.I. JOE episodes from the mid 80's, I recorded as much as I could. Now I have well over 12 hours of G.I. JOE cartoons taped, Thank You Teletoon Retro, they sure bring back good memories.

  • I used to be on the lookout for Snake Eyes in every episode...I didn't even care about the other Joes haha

  • same here

  • The 80's....... :)

  • Gues I should not be surprised. I just saw today season1 is on dvd now of this cartoon with the new movie coming up. Not too sure about the movie though.

  • YO JOE!!

  • I saw the trailer for it last night when I saw 'Harry Potter & the half blood prince'. The movie looks pretty decent. Special efx looks on point...I'll check it out...

  • I think I had almost all of the toys, I was such a greedy bitch! XD

  • lots of them are worth a shitload of money now. i remember i found two "send away" cobra commander in my attic years ago, checked it out and that shit was priced at $200 each.

  • I used to watch this cartoon religiously as a child but now that Im older and more educated I can see how messed up it was. Almost all of the villians have foreign accents and are considered terrorists and the goodies are all "american" military personnel. I wonder how many people my age joined the military because this cartoon influenced them.

  • What are you some kind of Obama commie lib? Seriously?!?!?!? YES...GI GOE is all American...and so should you be. If you have a problem with being gung ho all American than move. My father, grandfather and great grandfather and I for starters all served. If it wasnt for all American "goodies" you wouldnt be able to post your anti-American liberal comments on here. Move to Iraq or Iran then post back how its going.

  • Oh and I had all the toys too. :)

I didnt see Wild Bill in the trailers?

  • amen brother!!!!! i didnt serve but i TOTALLY agree!!!!!!!!

  • Actually the US military blatantly discriminates against LGBT people and they dont fight for any of my rights I have to fight for them. And yes Im a liberal and damn proud of it.

  • Nope wrong again....not all the Joe's were American...for example Lady Jay was from England.

  • Thats only one character and she definitely did not have an English accent, dont get me wrong I was a huge fan as a child but as an adult I can see how the cartoon comes off as propaganda.

  • Cobra Commander....the leader of Cobra...was American! LOL...Cobra Commander was a former Mega US Business man.

  • WhiteFlowerlei76, you are right, as an adult we can now see that these cartoons were nothing but misleading and corrupting the minds of kids so when they grow up they can easily be influenced and controlled by the media, that's my point of view, i'm not saying you should agree

  • Too bad I wasn't born to see GI Joe. I heard about it, mostly with CG commercials about their action figures, but I never knew how kick-ass it was "back in the day."

  • I hope they somehow include the theme song in the upcoming movie

  • A great cartoon from my youth. But, god dammit, if COBRA couldn't shoot down one hang glider with 3 helicopters in the intro, how big of a threat are they? Seriously, a F'N hang glider?!?

  • hahaha dude you are so right man, I remember this when I was kid too. Great cartoon no doubt and you are so right what happend there with the hang glider lol. Good times

  • It's Chuck Norris' hang glider

  • Ol' times

I was like 5 years or somethin at that time.

  • Why were cartoons made in the 1980's some of the best cartoons ever made? It's gave me such pride to be a child of the 1980's. I don't think there will ever again be an era like there was of cartoons made between 1980-1989. I can't wait for the GI Joe Movie coming out in August and Transformers Revenge of The Fallen at the end of June.

  • I believe that 80's was a great decate for everuthing!!!Like music,movies,cartoon,sport,style!!!Best modern decade!!!

  • it was a naive but beautiful time to be a kid in the states. now you can look back and see how fuct up some of it was, but for me that doesnt take too much away from it.

  • YESSAH!

  • I'd like to claim responsibility, but my 4 year old made me get out my old GI Joe (RAH) toys. I've spent the last 2 hours dusting off everything and reassembling it all. I pulled up this vid for him and he was pointing out all the toys I have in it.

  • I use to wake up every morning and sing along to this song. I still remember the words....

  • I was in my 20's when this came out. So I remember the original G.I. Joe commercials for the action figures in the 60's. I'm really old I guess.LOL.

  • i can't believe they r a terrorist group, i don't remember them being a terrorist group

  • Wow I don't remember the intro song sucking so bad... But great memories!

  • one of the greatest cartoons ever made

  • GI JOE!!!!!

  • I lost my virginity while the cartoon was on back in the day. As soon as the real action started (for me that is) I heard, "YOOOOOOOOOO...JOE!!!" :-)

  • Your life must be awesome... No I'm not being sarcastic. I'm fucking serious. I lost my virginity in the back of a minivan while my friend was driving... I spent most of the time looking out the window. o__o

  • Effen A. Gi joe will kik your ass Iran!!!

  • Memories of childhood (sigh)

Can't believe the movie version of the film is going to have Channing Tatum (Step Up) as Duke. Oh well, I'll still see it.

  • when I was little I use always grab my broomstick like it was my own assault rifle when this show came on. lol

  • Wow! This brings back my old memories of cartoon, especially the theme song.

  • g.i. jane

  • I wish i still had all my g.i. joe toys. I must had dozens of 'em, and vehicles too. All got lost or something over the years. Heh...memories. All the new toys are crap compared to the ones back in the day.

  • and the quality of toys back then was the best!

  • me 2 i need 2 get a gi joe logo t and a cobra commander n the blue hood t lookn 4word 2 the live action film n 09

  • God damn it...I grew up on this shit and got wounded in Afghanistan...I'm a real Canadian Zero...

  • daim i miss all them G.I joe cartoons. ive seen them all

  • When i was little, this cartoon made me think about joining the army forces after high school. Then i found out about the real deal.....well you know what happened then...

  • Ever notice no one ever really died in this show... there were fire fights with cobra at like 15 feet sometimes and NO ONE GOT HIT OR DIED.

  • Oh so true. Only now as an adult do you really look back and say wait a minute... LOL

  • actually Duke died in GI Joe the movie

  • should mention we sniped em' with my pellet gun..and destroyed em...really regrettin now !!

  • hundreds of action figures my brother and i sniped from on top of our roof when we were younger...and yes ...we are retarded..!! lol.!

  • Man, I wished they showed more of stalker in the cartoons. He was a bad ass, and just as senior as Hawk.

  • 85 here dose that count as bein a 80s kid or not

  • ya it does

  • Anyone heard what the owners of the GI Joe charector are up to?

If you're in the mood to get really ticked off check out Glenn Beck's site for more information.

    god bless america

  • such propaganda

  • yo joe!!!!!!!!

  • this was a child-of-the-eighties-thing

  • Despite all the fucking annoying 90s kids everywhere who like to claim they grew up with stuff like this.

  • One of the best cartoons in history

  • i couldent agree more

  • Racism? Let's see....Stalker,Doc,Roadblock,Heavy Duty...African Americans....Quick Kick...Asian-American......Wetsuit and Shipwreck were Hispanic-Americans...Spirit was a Native American....Scarlet,Lady Jaye and Cover Girl...Women...Oh,yeah,it was practically the KKK...GROW THE F*** UP!!! YO JOE!!!!!!

  • idiots like you are why it wont go away, darrrrrrrrr
