To those of you who have not had this procedure done on them (YET!) the actual extraction is really not the problem. The painful complications usually come after, with just general swelling, mouth soreness, pain, and worst of all, dry sockets. Dry sockets are fairly uncommon for most people but in my opinion, that is the real culprit to fear here in this operation... That and the worry that the dentist could cut a nerve and paralyze a part of your face for a while (sometimes it is permanent!)

I've had only ONE wisdom tooth removal 2 days ago and I am dying! It hurts so bad...mine had to be taken out from underneath the flesh because it never came out. And I have to go in october for the second one T_T

I had all of mine removed at once, top two were impacted, bottom two surfaced. I never, for some reason, had any pain after the surgery. After the novacaine wore off, I was fine! I have 20 vicadin I never needed!

today i got all four taken out and the meds work fast. the last thingi remember was the nurse saying sweet dreams. i woke up like an hour later and could walk. BUT WARNING! dont sleep on one side cause after taken the vicoden an hour before i went to sleep i woke up cause my mouth was bleeding and it was throbbing, so i iceddid it was all good.

i get mine out tommorow. Its not going to be bad. I think the scariest thing is waiting for the sedation to kick in which ive been informed that you don't even remeber closing your eyes. The pain well whoop de doo whatever they got some pain meds for that. Its not even pain really it probablly more like throbbing soreness. Ive had 4 other teeth pulled before under happy gas but not IV sedation.

I just got my teeth out too. I was awake for it, but it didnt hurt, except for the one that had a cavity because apparently the infection under it caused me a lot of pain. My recoverys been okay so far though

Poor kid!! I going thru the same thing rite now.. I have braces and my wisom werent letting my teeth get straight so i got all four of them pulled out Friday... its tuesday and i still very swollen! i have no has any pain as ever tho..

I have to get all four of mine pulled tomorrow...and they're all coming in sideways... I'm really just worried about choking on saliva/blood etc. When I get fillings done one thing I hate is that I have to breath through my nose the whole time (with my mouth open, wtf?) and saliva and shit builds up at the back of my throat and I feel like I'm drowning.

Just an update. This was probably the best procedure I've ever had done. I was freaking out and almost didn't go through with it. I finally just decided, it has to happen - do it. I fell asleep - kind of. I remember at one point opening my eyes and hearing them and feeling them move around but the weird thing is, it felt GOOD.

I was eating normally in 3 days. I've had no complications! I love it!

i had my 4 wisdom teeth plus the two right in front the winsom teeth, six total . honestly the last one on the bottom i kinda felt the others were no big deal this was my first time getting teeth rmoved . here i am a day and a half later my jaw is so sore . but i know it will be worth it . had this done 06/17/09

All my life I've never had a cavity but for the last month off/on my back wisdom tooth has been keeping me up at night, which is missed up that it's happening since I pre:order WoTLK and trying to save for a new rig.

Anyways after I get my wisdom tooth pulled I know I'll feel like shit for about a week.

I remember whan I got my wisdom teeth taken out. No one gave a SHIT. ALL OF THEM AT ONCE!

It sucked. They didn't put me to sleep or anything, just a fuck lot of numbing shots (the ones on the roof of your mouth suck the most).

Just a river of blood spewing out of your mouth, swollen face for a few weeks, and food that gets jammed in you tooth hole for a few months.... FUCK. It SUCKS.
