The hands should twist out on the way down, yours are turning the wrong way. This system is made to extra rotate your shoulders and build power by being able to go all the way down, if you twist the opposite way then there's no point in doing it

If you have the dvds or the full perfect push up system and experimented with your own exercises/routines. you would see there is no wrong way to twist. twisting in and twisting out works different parts of the muscles. That is exactly what it's suppose to do.

@jimk5447 Hey Jim. How many depends on the person. The chart only shows routines. 10 - 15 Perfect Pushups reps strict form equal 20 -30 regular push up reps with out it, depending on person. Start off doing 3 sets of 10 with 20 second rest time in between. If that is easy for you then raise the reps by 3 to 5 until you feel a struggle or burn towards your ending reps. The video for Perfect Pushup i believe is more detailed on how many.

I am already in good shape...i work out 4 to 5 days a week.. i do a sick work out... i flat bench 135 pds 300x different angles..then 300 chair set ups,, then triceps 50 pds over my head 100x , then 40 pds on biceps 100x, then butterfly machine 100x different weight up to 300 pds, death metal is my key
you doing it wrong... the reason its a "perfect pushup" is because it goes naturally with arms movement. throw a punch your, your fist is horizontal... so in the up position your fist need to be horizontal. thats what brings better results and the way your doing it isnt good for your wrist.
@funfzehen .....I did that video in September 2008. My wrists are very strong and never hurt and I still use it in 2010. If you have experimented with the perfect pushups for a long time you would realize there is no wrong way to do it and results are from all angles of doing it. Because if I was doing anything wrong my arms, wrist shoulders would not work or grow.lol But I get what you are saying but that is just one angle you are viewing. I also do the power punch push up.

Yes it's ok to do it on your knees or mix it up with normal form and when it becomes too much use your knees. Both ways will build. But like you said if you do knees go up in reps or sets

There are plenty of foods you can research online to help you build muscle. If your a hard gainer, just keep in mind it takes time. But dont concentrate on bulk. Make sure your form is right and build strength. Feed your muscle in moderation, dont stuff yourself. I think it's best to consult with your doctor to customize something for you. As for adding the extra exercises. You can add it. but why over do it. One day do the P.P that works those parts.
Then when you have to work those parts again skip P.P and use those other works Or mix it up with P.P for Chest routine, but add tricep & Shoulder work after.

Oh ok. If your losing muscle from not working out. Then that can be fixed with a little time and getting back into a routine. But losing muscle can happen for other reasons also. So being checked by your doctor is important. Ok... Eating every 3 hours will help you pack on. Protein builds muscle(tuna, chicken, steak, nuts) balance that with a portion of fruits, vegetables & grains.
As far as a routine to replace the speedbag & heavybag. As a boxer nothing can replace it. But Pull ups( use all hand variations), Shadow boxing, Jump rope. Perfect push up and it's dvd routines use that.

i got these for christmas...alot harder than regualar push-ups im 14 and i can do like 40 regular push ups but with these im lucky if i can do 25...im 5'5 and only weigh 105 and i really need to work out.lol
I know some 14 year olds that cant even do 5 push -ups. that is really good keep it up.! dont over do it with your workouts make sure to rest in between and eat right. Good luck with it and make sure your parents know how your working out or your family doctor just to make sure your on the right track.

hey MrJay217! I was one of those skinny guys.lol Your still young. you wouldn't need Whey protein, just from good food. You can get ripped but not just from push ups. Add cardio like jogging,bike riding, even wii fitness. Eat right. make sure to have your parents take you to the doctor just for a physical and ask what health you are in and what you plan to do. Your right thedoor360...Outta D-bell or b-bell on bench or rows.you can get more from weights. The thing people are scared of most is injury. This is an alternative to bench not rows. Unless you get the Perfect pull ups which i dont have.lol

5 days is not enough Laxguy484 but give it time. Also include other exercises besides the PP. It's good for your chest. But it's not the only exercise to help you grow.
I wouldnt do PP everyday maybe every other day so your chest gets some rest. But you also should include other exercises or muscle confusion. Protein feeds the muscle. But the intense exercise gets it ripped. especially working all angles incline, decline, flat, dips. etc.
Bicep is the other video, but any way you do this it is worked but to a lesser degree. Triceps- you can do military push ups when the PPU is close together , but get a chair and do tri dipsafter it... for chest do shoulder width, incline, a little wider than shoulder and military.
I eat junk food too.lol But i portion it. The majority of my food contains protein,grains, vegetables and fruits. Portioned junk food as snacks or replace them with fruits.
Low 150 - high 310. This works your abs to a certain degree in the sense when you do the movement you keep strict form and tighten your abs during the movement. But you can't depend on just this to completely work it.

can you explain to me how the workout chart works plz. it says to do a rep of what you can. so basically i can just do one rep of what my body is capable of?
it says Max -Regular- Wide and close. under max row it shows 0-50 going down so lets say you cant do 10 reps yet but you can do 3-5 reps so look at the 0 row where it says knee push ups.
if you can do 8 -12 then look at the 10 row under max. in the zero row with knee push ups you have regular and under it 4,3,2,1 thats how many you should do until you work your way up without using your knees and able to do 8 -10 The schedule is just what days to work out and what routine along with what days to rest. If you still need more detail let me know.
You can do 10 or 20 which ever you feel gives most resistance. If you can do 3 sets of 20 that is great! 3 sets of 10 is great too, but the more reps the harder the muscle works
First and foremost, thank you for being like the one guy on Youtube to do Perfect Pushups right: full range of motion, twisting the handles all the way, evenly on the way up, and evenly on the way down. Just one note though: you know you're supposed to rotate the handles in as you go down (palms face each other), right?

Your corrrect on that palms face each other, in this video the parts i edited that you see were actually the half range motions where I go down half way and rotate up quick or I come up half way and rotate down quick. wow, excellent. I've lost 40lbs in the last year do to an illness and now that it's over, I picked up a pair of the "Perfect Pushups". I hope to supplement gains from the gym also.
I started the last week of May 2008 and I noticed a difference at the end of June 2008. Because i stuck to the routine and then in july was when i felt and saw serious changes.
The last time I been to the gym was in August 2007 lol its not the only exercise I stick with But it is one of the most effective and safe work out equipments to use for upper body gains doing various positons I am able to work my chest and shoulders and arms in a way I couldn't do with weights If you are looking to tone and gain strength I mean serious strength gains you will notice it Also I use to have a stiffness in my shoulder and it helped me work through it and strengthen it
Yes it works the abs but you need to be strict with your form. Tighten your stomach as you do the different moves and include other exercises along with it to hit your abs from other angles

i got these for christmas...alot harder than regualar push-ups im 14 and i can do like 40 regular push ups but with these im lucky if i can do 25...im 5'5 and only weigh 105 and i really need to work out.lol

I know some 14 year olds that cant even do 5 push -ups. that is really good keep it up.! dont over do it with your workouts make sure to rest in between and eat right. Good luck with it and make sure your parents know how your working out or your family doctor just to make sure your on the right track.

hey MrJay217! I was one of those skinny guys.lol Your still young. you wouldn't need Whey protein, just from good food. You can get ripped but not just from push ups. Add cardio like jogging,bike riding, even wii fitness. Eat right. make sure to have your parents take you to the doctor just for a physical and ask what health you are in and what you plan to do. Your right thedoor360...Outta D-bell or b-bell on bench or rows.you can get more from weights. The thing people are scared of most is injury. This is an alternative to bench not rows. Unless you get the Perfect pull ups which i dont have.lol

5 days is not enough Laxguy484 but give it time. Also include other exercises besides the PP. It's good for your chest. But it's not the only exercise to help you grow.

I wouldnt do PP everyday maybe every other day so your chest gets some rest. But you also should include other exercises or muscle confusion. Protein feeds the muscle. But the intense exercise gets it ripped. especially working all angles incline, decline, flat, dips. etc.

Bicep is the other video, but any way you do this it is worked but to a lesser degree. Triceps- you can do military push ups when the PPU is close together , but get a chair and do tri dipsafter it... for chest do shoulder width, incline, a little wider than shoulder and military.

I eat junk food too.lol But i portion it. The majority of my food contains protein,grains, vegetables and fruits. Portioned junk food as snacks or replace them with fruits.

Low 150 - high 310. This works your abs to a certain degree in the sense when you do the movement you keep strict form and tighten your abs during the movement. But you can't depend on just this to completely work it.

Where it says routine - 2 minute drills
it says Max -Regular- Wide and close. under max row it shows 0-50 going down so lets say you cant do 10 reps yet but you can do 3-5 reps so look at the 0 row where it says knee push ups.

if you can do 8 -12 then look at the 10 row under max. in the zero row with knee push ups you have regular and under it 4,3,2,1 thats how many you should do until you work your way up without using your knees and able to do 8 -10 The schedule is just what days to work out and what routine along with what days to rest. If you still need more detail let me know.

You can do 10 or 20 which ever you feel gives most resistance. If you can do 3 sets of 20 that is great! 3 sets of 10 is great too, but the more reps the harder the muscle works

First and foremost, thank you for being like the one guy on Youtube to do Perfect Pushups right: full range of motion, twisting the handles all the way, evenly on the way up, and evenly on the way down. Just one note though: you know you're supposed to rotate the handles in as you go down (palms face each other), right?

Your corrrect on that palms face each other, in this video the parts i edited that you see were actually the half range motions where I go down half way and rotate up quick or I come up half way and rotate down quick. I plan to do another one with better range angles to see it clearly. Thank you once again!

I started the last week of May 2008 and I noticed a difference at the end of June 2008. Because i stuck to the routine and then in july was when i felt and saw serious changes.

The last time I been to the gym was in August 2007 lol its not the only exercise I stick with But it is one of the most effective and safe work out equipments to use for upper body gains doing various positons I am able to work my chest and shoulders and arms in a way I couldn't do with weights If you are looking to tone and gain strength I mean serious strength gains you will notice it Also I use to have a stiffness in my shoulder and it helped me work through it and strengthen it

Yes it works the abs but you need to be strict with your form. Tighten your stomach as you do the different moves and include other exercises along with it to hit your abs from other angles
