@Elwink It's just a bad matchup against Nadal for Federer. Nadal always gave Federer trouble, from the first time they met in 2004. With Djokovic, it's a good matchup with Federer. Federer can deal with pace and can work his slice against Djokovic. Having said that, it's not easy for him now, past his prime, to deal week in week out with the younger players, but still he could have beaten Djokovic easily at the USO this year and in the previous matches he has lost against him this year.

@makeuploversxo obviously you don't play tennis long enough. Technically that shot was really difficult to execute. Djokovic was hammering the ball like crazy. It wasn't easy to fire off a winner when you were pressured like that. In that situation, Federer took the ball very early and hit it at full swing, which caught Djokovic by surprise. To take the ball like that, you have to be in the right position/footwork, well prepared, and execute it at the right time.

@Elwink It's just a bad matchup against Nadal for Federer. Nadal always gave Federer trouble, from the first time they met in 2004. With Djokovic, it's a good matchup with Federer. Federer can deal with pace and can work his slice against Djokovic. Having said that, it's not easy for him now, past his prime, to deal week in week out with the younger players, but still he could have beaten Djokovic easily at the USO this year and in the previous matches he has lost against him this year.

@Dario2622 It wasn't down the line, it was from pretty much the middle of the court, into the opposite corner that every other backhand shot would be played to, no-one else can create that angle from the wrist that's why it's special.

@unowen727 im only 13. but actualy i've played tennis for 4 years. i just didnt notice anything about the shot that was so amazing. but if somebody would explain to me what he did on that shot instead of telling me that i've never played tennis before, then that would be nice.

Also just to add to DriftKido, he hit the shot inside-out backhand, when he was in the backhand side of the court. The angle is very narrow, not to mention, Federer hit behind Djokovic. Djokovic practically recovered, was in the center, swtiched direction for the next ball, but Federer hit the corner. Practically the only space that a great mover like Djokovic couldn't reach. A shot like this combines what DriftKido said, confidence,footwork,taking the ball early, with precision

@makeuploversxo obviously you don't play tennis long enough. Technically that shot was really difficult to execute. Djokovic was hammering the ball like crazy. It wasn't easy to fire off a winner when you were pressured like that. In that situation, Federer took the ball very early and hit it at full swing, which caught Djokovic by surprise. To take the ball like that, you have to be in the right position/footwork, well prepared, and execute it at the right time.
