  • The dwarf was known as 'Cheatum' (the 'one-eyed midget' as he was dubbed due to the eyepatch). Both Cheatum and Hornswoggle are two separate people. Besides, Hornswoggle would have to have been a mere 6 years old when this footage was shot, so it's definitely not him :)

  • wow.. uncle Elmer..

  • goddamn...I remember this shit....It was pretty cool back then because I didn't know it was that ridiculous let alone predictable, but now...what the fuck am I watching? and why is there a midget involved?

  • 1:28 hornswoggle?

  • was that madusa's hot ass???

  • Isn't that Horneswoggle?

  • Wait...where on the wheel did it say "Shoot Lasers From Your Eyes and Blow Each Other Up"????

  • I remember watching this and I immediately thought of Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome and the "Bust a deal, Face the wheel" scene.

  • The problem wasn't that it landed on Coal Miner's Glove. The problem is that it was even on the wheel. Surely something better could have been put on there in it's place.

  • sting is wack

  • Jake The Snake rules. Too bad the actual match was dumb as the Wheel landed on a "Coal Miner's Glove" Match.

    ...Yeah

  • @CH3Jason Nobody knows if they didn't rig the wheel and left it random, or if Watts really wanted the Coal Miner's Glove on a pole match.

Pretty much the worst option on the wheel.

  • Jake The Snake rules. Too bad the actual match was dumb as the Wheel landed on a "Coal Miner's Glove" Match.

    ...Yeah

  • I can't stop laughing when Jake stops Sting from cursing at 3:09!

  • 1192, but definitely 1980's mentality!

  • Jake Roberts was a good wrestler.. All the crack smoking ruined his career.

  • jake roberts reminds me of sam elliot a little bit

  • I have a question. Was Jesse major while he was working for WCW?

  • @D2Kprime He was mayor from 1991-1995 I think, so he must well have been.

  • Or those the same extras they got for that Beach Blast promo with Sid and Vader? LMAO

  • was that hornswaggle?

  • I don't know why, I get the feeling they filmed their parts seperately. Something is off.

  • Comment removed

  • This video isn't all that bad. It's got drama and action.

  • Jake Roberts truly was ahead of his time. "You wanna play 21, I've got a 22..."

    BTW is that Hornswaggle?

  • yeah brooklyn park

  • it is a testement to botth sting a jake that they survived this

  • WTF? is that hornswaggle at 1:30??? XD

  • @samhoe111 can't be he is too young

  • @Nertrender i know but seems to be him.. probably his dad :P

  • @samhoe111 just did my research on dylan postl. Doesn't seem that he was a multi generational wrestler

  • @Nertrender lol haha

  • @samhoe111 wait what are you laughing @?

  • @Nertrender yeah

  • @samhoe111 i is confused?

  • @Nertrender lol

  • @samhoe111 now you are just messing with me

  • @Nertrender old things now :)

  • @samhoe111 so ic

  • jake the snake was pretty beast acting

sting was awful-so was everyone else

  • jake said on hes own dvd that the wheel was not fixed and it legitimately fell on coal miners glove and they had no choice but to do that crappy match-talk about crap luck!!!!

  • I do believe this the same shitty gay bar as in Nightmare On Elm Street 2.

  • Is that Hornswoggle?

  • @jmpowers83 it looks like him but its not he was like 6 years old at the time he was born in 1986 this was 1992

  • @jmpowers83 Nope he's in his early 20s.

  • @owaisinus deffinatly not hornswoggle cause hes in his early 20 he had been 13ish at this time

  • Jake V Sting used better would have been a legendary feud.Watts had no excuses fucking WCW up with this kind of talent.

  • @Pulpedtoafiction31 Watts was the worst promoter NWA/WCW had. He blamed Dusty for some of their problems and didnt listen to those who knew best. He may have been a good wrestler but as a promoter he sucked.

  • @Cavillier1970 He was a great promoter in Mid South/UWF, but by his WCW period, time passed him by

  • @eltornado1978 See living in Buffalo, NY I never had accessto seeing anyother promotions except WWF when I was a kid. So Ihave no idea how good or bad or what a SOB he may have been. I think it maybe a general problem with those Old School wrestlers turned promoters, who really didnt know how to really work well in the in the 1980s the way McMahon and Crockett did. Plus they couldnt work well together. I mean look at Superclash 3. They had something good there, but couldn't play well together.

  • one man comes out the other man hahahahahaha well no lol jake is the man

  • Jake Roberts ha s to be u p there with the best villians in all of wrestling he should get into acting he was great in this promo

  • did I just saw Hornswoggle at 1:21, then 1:30, then 2:18 and finally 3:23??? My God, was he even born back then...

  • what if the wwe could get this payperview

  • Wow, DDP looked exactly like Dog the Bounty Hunter.

  • Fucking HORNSWAGGLE!!!

  • OOOOOH

  • "That's right, that's right...BRUTAL!! BRUTAL!!"

  • Too bad its soo awful. Jake is a great actor

  • this had to be one of the steiners' last matches in wcw, they were in wwf by november 1992...

  • WCW fans says the off the top rope rule must be removed and it wasn't even close.

  • dam i never remember jesse ventura in wcw

  • Jake looks like Magnum TA

  • Madusa ... So HOT want to touch the hiney!!!

  • WCW was very innovative back then. Too bad the ending was horrible for them

  • why didnt they rig the wheel?

  • did wcw actually have a lot of time at this time. where did they get it from?

  • do they have it planned when it comes to the match or actually let the results come from the wheel. they could have had a better match type then the one they did. I think some of the matches were there just because they sounded good but wcw never planned on having them.

  • uum is it me or does JR look like Chris Farley here?

  • hornswaggle!? wtf

  • ha! I love Cheatum the Midget!

  • For those of you who seem not to get it, I think the promo is based on the movie Thunderdome, which was probably popular back then.

  • Or it might be match where we fight over a glove like it's Portland in 1978!

  • This was very well done from the set to the extras. Until Jake spoke he was good. Sting was stiff as a board.

  • This promo's fun at least, I like it.

  • Whats Hornswoggles Dad doing here?

  • Are you sure that's Daddy? It looks like Hornswaggle himself.

  • WCW had some great matches!! they had terrible promos, but some awesome matches!!

  • OK, from the first two minutes, I'm going to go out on a limb and say there's a wheel of some sort involved and that said wheel might be spinning. Of course, they only took TWO MINUTES to try to establish that, so I can't be sure.

"I'm the one smiling..." Uh, no you're not.

  • The thing is jake roberts is younger than the undertaker,if not for the drugs and boose he could have been one of the greatest heels in the biz to this day.

  • Roberts is ten years older than taker, but roberts is a crack head. I was into the wwf when I was a kid and loathed wcw, but I remember almost getting exited about this when I saw it on tv, sounds cool, but this is terrible, the guy at 3:40 blows me away!

  • Jake was good in this. I remember these promos. These promos were awful!!!

  • SPIN THE WHEEL, MAKE...uh...line?

  • that blonde bitch was fuckin hot

  • Apart from the "eh?" moment with the lightning bolts between the eyes, and a disappointingly stiff and characterless performance from Sting, I actually think this was well put together. The set design and the extras managed a decent homage to Mad Max 3, and there was some skilful use of shadow in there.

Then you have Jake...sober (thank god), smouldering with charisma, and delivering his lines better than most actors, let alone wrestlers. And when Jake's on form, it's ALWAYS worth watching.

  • Jake Roberts would have been up there with Hulk Hogan and Ric Flair if it hadn't been for the drugs and alcohol.

  • @lrodzen i agree jake the snake was awsome even with his promos

  • @lrodzen jake roberts had a substance abuse problem, don't blame the drugs.

  • the woman spinning the wheel looks alot like alundra blayze?????

  • that is Madusa.. AKA Alundra Blayze

  • jake the snake should been an actor, hed make a great horror villan ;)

  • I couldn't agree more with you.

  • @666rocko : He still could. I'm sure it has been suggested. However Hollywood is looking for anyone with real acting talent anymore. Only phonies who will do whatever they are told.

  • Thoughts: "Spin the wheel, make the deal" tha's too many syllables nobody would chant that, it just sounds stupid, since when was jake roberts a biker? this is the predecessor to raw roulette, Jake roberts could have been much bigger if he wasn't so self destructive, the guys who make it make it through that burnout phase to get to the next level while guys like Mr perfect, jake, rvd,Scott Hall, etc. shit out before they realize their full potential, and of course really? laser beams?

  • This was taken directly from Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome "Two men enter, one man leaves". The movie even included a wheel spun to determine the consequence after Max broke a contract.

  • @fjccommish right and they could do that because Turner owned the rights to the movie anyway.

  • @chawn5 I doubt they'd have to own the rights. It would be considered a parody which is fair game.

  • i saw hornswaggle at 1:30

  • That's not him. This was way back in 92 and he's only 26.

  • He's probably the same height.

  • WCW had more money than sense! Thats why they went down the crapper.

  • bruno s like 'what have i signed on 4? this isnt wrestling'

  • jake is awesome,,,,,,,,,,,,steve is not

  • steve is terrable here lol

  • Hornswoggle @ 3:40

  • What the hell is with WCW and all their mini movies promoting big matches during this time period. Spin the Wheel Make the Deal mini movie. Does anyone remember the mini movie they did when Sting and Bulldog wrestled Sid and Vader? How about the Sting/Vader strap match at Superbrawl 3?

  • That was corporate's call with this BS.

  • anybody notice 'hornswoggle' at 1:30 ???

  • That's actually Cheetum, the evil midget... i'm sorry I sound strange, but that's what WCW called him...

  • For some reason, this reminds me of the gay bar scene from Nightmare On Elm Street 2.

  • Bruno Sammartino at the end there.

  • Who knew Jake and Sting could shoot lasers out their eyes. Awesome.

  • I still can't believe they made the wheel totally random, the one time it's better to fix it as something good.

  • R.D. totally needs to track down Cheatum whoever he was, and interview him on Wrestlecrap Radio.

And what was Madusa doing here? Jake wasn't associated with the Dangerous Alliance or anything. No sense!

  • Smells like VInce Russo to me.

  • Nah, if it was, all the choices would be "SOMETHING" on a pole.

  • Russo didn't get to WCW until 1999. At this point, he might have been writing columns in the WWF magazine.

  • To quote from the book "Wrestlecrap": You can talk seedy all you want but unless you have a one-eyed midget named Cheatum, you're just talking out of your ass.

  • I've seen car insurance commercials that make more sense than this!

It just shows how GOOD Jake the SNake is that he can look good in something as dumb as THIS

  • aww man....I hate to be continued, even after they blew each other up w/the cyclops ray.

  • lol

  • hey there's something you don't see everyday, Jake Roberts with a beer in his hand

  • you just have to love Jack Roberts he was the best in the business. He still could be a valuble Asset to the business if he could get his personal life straightened out. not in the ring of course but teaching the young stars the Psychology of the business and how to work the crowd. His promos were great.

  • hed be a great manager if he didnt look and dress like cactus jack

  • you clearly have no idea what your talking about

  • Jim Ross is the best announcer ever today, his history and knowledge of the wrestling business is second to none. he is the most respected Announcer not just in WWF or WCW but entire business. No one one but The Late Gordon Solie (who Ross was a fan of) could call a match better then Jim Ross all the wrestlers and non wrestlers in the business reaspect him. both Gordon Solie and Jim Ross are considered the best in the bussiness.

  • The cable company I was on at the time accidentally aired this BEFORE the match that set up the Sting - Roberts battle at Havoc. I kid you not. Boy, that spoiled the surprise.

  • I love it! Five stars!! True awesomeness!

How hot was Madusa back then?

  • tell me I didn't just see that...

... I'm not quite sure yet, but this may be worst than the crap wwe shows these days...

    ... then again, maybe not.

  • Was that dude Hornswoggle, like seriously it looked like him

  • No, Hornswoggle was born in 1986 so he would have only been 6 when this happened. This was in 1992. Jake went to WCW after his WWF contract ended after WrestleMania VIII. He had a one shot feud in WCW with Sting and then he was gone again, probably due to his "personal demons". Then in 1996, he returned to the WWF. Within a year, he was gone again.

  • Jake left WCW because he was never able to sign his original contract. He had a 90 day no-compete clause after leaving Vince and before it was up, Bill Watts took over WCW and changed the contract making it worth a lot less. Watts and Jake hated each other so Jake did the Sting angle then quit.

  • I'd love to know what the Death Match and Mystery Match would have been. Isn't the whole point of the Spin The Wheel, Make The Deal malarky that it's a mystery match?

Or is this a DDP vs. David Flair-style "Mystery on a Pole" type affair? First one to find the cryptic clue has an advantage in solving the puzzle?

.... I could have SO been a booker in WCW in 1993.

  • HORNSWAGGLE!! He's in the video.

  • The possibility of that may well still exist. Both WWE and small promotions are looking for talented help to put them on "Must see TV" again, like the NWO, for example.

  • I always wondered if the wheel was rigged up to land on coal miners glove or if it really was random.

  • Supposedly it wasn't rigged, which was a silly thing not to do, really.

  • Jake made this video good. It's not as bad as I thought it would be. Ireally get a kick out of all the old legends from way back being there though. It's like wait weren't you all bitching McMahon made wrestling all entertainment? Then you see them all in WCW watching this "beautiful" piece of work.

  • So that's where Bishoff got the idea for the "Raw roullete".

    Salute.

  • "CUT THE CRAP!!!!" - Sting

    ROFLMAO

  • Henry Godwinn at 1:48

  • 2:04 A hedgecilpper match??? Would it have been held in a front yard? LOL!

  • ITS ON COAL MINER'S GLOVE!

  • Jake is a brilliant actor.

  • Someone should post this match!

  • I can't even watch the whole thing... CRAP!!!!

  • Ravin looks soooooo cheezie in that Lector mask! LOL

  • laser eyes-MORTAL KOMBAT!!

  • oh jesus christ, nothing like the old wcw when you need a laugh

  • Has anyone posted the actual match?

  • yappapie match, brother!!

  • "I'm smiling, not you!" XD Jake fucking rulez

  • I remember watching the PPV as a kid and hated the wheel the coal miners glove match. Should have landed on something more exciting like a barbed wire match or something else.

  • Damn, and I thought the promo's Jake had with Warrior back in WWF were lame 'cause the Warrior's shit acting. . . This beats it. The laser eyes really killed it. . .

Though, I did like that one bit Jake said:

"We both go in the ring- one man comes out, the other, well. . .no"

Again, poor Jake has to carry a shitty promo to make it semi-believable. . .

  • Sting looked like a bad actor in a porn movie and i wanted to slap the piss out of that midget.

  • What a crap advert.Jake did a great job but Sting cant act for shit.

  • Not a bad job from Jake. Sting on the other hand has less characterization than Chucky did when he showed up.

  • 12 of the most brutal matches in wrestling history? Obviously, WCW never heard of an exploding barbed wire match

  • WOOT! i have shook jake the snakes hand!

  • was that midget when they were chanting look like hornswoogle

  • Cheatum. He was in all the mini-movies.

  • yeah it could have been a better match than the coal miners glove match

  • why is spin the wheel a bad concept. if u hink raw rouletee is good then u gotta like spin the wheel

  • It was mainly bad because what it landed on (the coal miner's glove match). :/

I would also say something about the mini movie, but it was 92, so I guess that was to be expected. :P

  • Jake was too good for the fuck up that was WCW

  • it would have been a better match if it wasn't a cold-miner's glove match. that was pointless after all of this build-up.

  • SPIN THE WHEEL

  • MAKE THE DEAL

  • Goddamn, I remember watching this way back in the day. I was confused as to what Jake Roberts was doing in WCW, but man did he play a great villain.

  • Wargames was an amazing match concept and as for chamber of horrors well it was amazing......amazingly funny that is :P

  • Wow, it now seems so weird to see Jim Ross holding a WCW mic.

  • WCW had some of the worst concept matches.Spin The Wheel,White Castle of Fear,Thundercade,Chamber of Horrors,Wargames,Battle Bowl,Tower of Doom,Bunkhouse Stampede.I liked WCW,but these matches were kinda lame.I did like World War 3 Though.

  • I gotta disagree. I really liked the Spin the Wheel Make the Deal concept & wished they would have brought it back, especially later on when the NWO showed up. War Games was another great one (especially the 1992 War Games--perhaps the bloodiest match in wrestling). I also liked Battle Bowl, but the way they had enemies almost always being partners showed how fake it was.

  • I liked the matches they had in 1994 a lot (Chicago Street Fight & Bunkhouse Match at Spring Stampede 94, Bad Street Bully & Texas Bullrope matches at Slamboree '94, Thundercage match at Superbrawl IV, the Marquis of Queensbury Cup matches on the 5/94 WCW Worldwide shows & the May Mayhem matches--Street Fight, Tuxedo Match, I Quit Match, Strap Match--also during the 5/94 Worldwide shows).

The White Castle of Fear IIRC was just a Strap match between Sting & Vader in Superbrawl III--awesome match

  • This was in the top 5 of crappiest promos for a wrestling match IMHO. Want to see worse? Search for the Bash at the beach promo for Sting and Davey boy Smith VS Sid Viscous and Big Van Vader (or was he just Vader by then?).

    LOL at 2:30 to 2:35.

mmmikeyxx was right, Sting couldn't act. Jake the snake always did play a great bad guy! He could act soooo sinister it was almost scary. Even Jake and Sting probably thought something like "Who the fuck thought this crap up??".

  • LMAO...BEACH BLAST, BEACH BLAST, BEACH BLAST, BEACH BLAST!!! POWER BOMB, POWER BOMB, POWER BOMB, POWER BOMB, POWER BOMB!!! Haha...that promo was GOD awful! You're absolutely right
