yeah, it's hard to find an anime that is exactly like the manga because those stupid producers just want money from every ways possible. also, they will be like oh since the 1st complete series didn't follow the origional story, we are going to redo it -_- just like fullmetal and princess resurrection.<-----and make more money. the songs are selected randomly from j-pop/j-rock for most anime nowadays just to promote the band/singers. i agree with you although i don't know much.

i think "Rin", and "Princess Resurrection" are some of the darker anime more closer to the 80s and 90s; but it sucks that in princess resurrection, they took out the blood when hime is feeding hiro, and the anime did not follow the origional storyline from the manga----it's pretty dissapointing. although, "Rin" was made around 2007, many older ppl may favors the anime "rin", but newer generations from the 90s to now may not like it.

it sucks that most anime these days aren't like darkstalkers, fatal fury, street fighters, night warriors, red hawk, king of fighters, and ninja scroll. also, project a-ko, macross, demon city, vampire hunter d, akira, and hokuto no ken are another examples. i loved both old and new styles, but the new styles these days aren't that attractive to me for some reasons; probably fanboy/fangirl stuffs like that. anyway, you can still find new anime with old styles, but it's hard to find 1.

@l3054 throught my whole life, i'd seen many different anime on commercials, but had only checked some of them out. berserk is one of the anime i think that are interesting based on what i'd read about it in some anime magazines. although i'm not a hardcore researcher for anime, i'm a hardcore anime watcher if i like the anime. there's soo many good anime out there, but i hate watching them on the net.

@CX222666 theres lots of different websites though if you ever really wanna watch one you could probably find it its very good but i havent read the manga yet but its apparently a long story they do the best part of the series so far though in the anime but a few things are different

@megaten666 So it seems I'm not the only one who thinks like this. I have to agree, I like older anime that didn't rely on needless amounts of moe this, moe that to attract its fan base. But to be honest its the fans that made it this way, choosing the panty shots and moe girls over good story lines and plot development. Good anime like this is hard to find these days because so many people prefer the moe.

If it has a good story, I don't really care about the moe thing. But if a show doesn't have a decent story, at least be gorgeous. Today's animes are "flat", "textureless", there's a general lack of style. Altough people often attack CLAMP for its character designs, but at least they try to give something unusual to the eyes. Only anime I can think now and has a beautiful level of detail is the Hellsing OVAs. Also: too much CG nowadays :( Need more handdrawn animation.
