This is great! No offense to the singer in the background, but I'd love to see you upload a version with no vocals. I think this has the musical ability to stand alone. Consider it.
I'm not sure that's accurate, Capo. That sounds like a local singer, doing a cameo. I shouldn't have even said anything, because it doesn't really matter. Great rendition, vocals or otherwise.
Hi - great vid! Really good. I am buying a gt - 6 this week - can you let me know if there is a loop function on it? If so, for how long? Cant find any info on looping for gt 6 and would need it! Thanks a lot
Hello there and thanks for watching. I used an old Peavey stereo chorus 212 transistor amp and a Boss GT6 modeller. I can't remember the original patch I used but it was based around the Vox AC30. Cheers!!
FUCKINNN ELL! you look like Edge as well! ahaha i love the fact you smile when you play. i think you're top notch. really enjoyed watching you! Was gutted, i put in for tickets for the Under a blood red sky dvd premiere but i didnt win =/ ahaha you aced the solo. I think im in love with you're playing ahahah. me and my friend did a cover of this at school for our group performance, it doesnt sound as good on acoustic though. the effect you used was spot on too ^^ xo
Thank you so much for your appreciation. I'm so glad you enjoyed the music. I'm sure your acoustic version sounded great, you should post a video of it on here. Keep on keeping on!! Peace&Light
Do you use the same delay-settings for all U2 songs or do you calculate it on the basis of the tempo of each song? Which distortion setting do you use on the GT6?
(I am a guitarist too, a big U2-fan und i played with the GT8.)
Hi and thank you. The delay was set to 450ms with a fairly strong level and about 4 repeats. I don't use a second delay as I don't particularly think it is necessarily all that noticable. This is just the delay built into the GT6 and it seems to do a good enough job as a few people have now asked if I use two delays in my sounds. Thanks again. Peace!!
Oh my God you're amazing!!! and I love The Edge... And you got him down... even down to the trademark t-shirt.. Now I'll cehck out your other videos...
Hi there and thank you for your comment. This amp I bought back in 1991 and is a transistor amp with blown speakers but it still gives some pretty good results. I do now have an AC30 and I have a better sound for this song so I will hopefully get some more stuff here using a new account. I have just bought an Apple Mac so as soon as I get it and learn to use it I'll be up and running again. I can't wait!!! Peace!
I seen them in "01 before my son was born and I actually wanted them to play Bad but they played this instead and I have yet to heard someone replicate that night but you have, thanks man freaking arsesome, and by the way the when I heard that I was having a son I listen to Elevation freaking great aint it
Thank you very much for your comments jcp08109. Peace, Love and Light to your Son!! My son was born in August 2001 and I took my good lady to see U2 in Manchester when she was 8 months pregnant with him. Also the first song my Son heard out side the mum-mobile was Pride, live from Rotterdam 1992, I made sure of that!! Peace!!
Thank you very much for your enthusiasm and comments my friend. They really mean a lot. Hopefully a tribute band is coming together in the near future here in England. A tour of the States would be so cool though;^D WOW!
hey mate...hi from usa after a while. dude. i wanan start learning your/the edge style playing the guitar...is ther a website or forum to get all the tips etc? thanks. cheers
Hey dude. Quick question. Im trying to decide between doing the rig thing or just going with the all in one floor effects device. If I was to go with a floor unit, what do you think my best bet would be? I also play mostly U2 stuff. Im thinking about Pod or maybe the new GT-10. I think you went with Pod. Do you test out a bunch of units and then decide or did you just go with it? Why?
Brilliant playing mate. For the heavy part before the solo and solo itself, are you using any overdrive or just digging harder into the strings or both maybe? Thanks, and I hope you post some more vids someday...
Hi there and thanks. For those parts I used the same sound as the rest of the song but added a bit of boost and saved it in a second patch so there is actually a patch change there. Cheers!!!

Hi mate, A.I.W.I.Y and one tree hill are my fav songs from the best band in the world.Just started playing myself at the grand old age of 35! I can play that song until the solo at the end. I have only a cheap guitar and now I am hooked on playing (Practice an hour every night) I am wondering what better guitar to go for 2 play U2 stuff. I thought about a strat Highway1 but i have been told u can get a good guitar cheaper (Vintage?)Keep up the good work.what country r u from. I live in England
hey! i am on the same boat. 35 and just got my first guitar and all i wanan do is jam to u2 songs like our man wannabeEdge...he really has inspired me man, anyways, lets keep in touch and see where we get to..lol
Try an Epiphone Les Paul, that will let you cover the audio spectrum, and the Edge uses that kind of guitar a lot. Epi Les Pauls are relatively inexpensive $399-499.
cheers for the advice. just one more question! What amp do you recommend for U2 covers. I have a budget of around £250. Also what min wattage will I need to get heard over drums in a small room. Thanks again
are u using the track from slane castle? and if u are is it just the complete song of slance castle but turned down so we dont hear the real edge or is it a guitarless track from slane ;) anyway a really nice job m8 keep it up
Hi there and thankyou!! Yes this was a great download.
