Interesting points, though we don't quite agree. Multi layer packaging is not recyclable - outer PE layers are, but inner layers (polyester + Al) are not and you can't easily separate them. VCIs are not approved for high reliability electronics as their coating attracts dust - causing shorts. On poisonous copper, SI bags have passed extensive environmental testing without any adverse effects (copper is interlocked with plastic and doesn’t become poisonous on decomp). I hate to burst your bubble but multi layer packaging is just as recyclable with close to zero moisture penetration for up to 10 years and simple anti-stat mb's such as Sabic's Stat-Loy and then to address corrosion a simple VCI will do the trick. Before Randy goes on about H&S, please remember that a well known VCI company has proven that not all VCI'sare equal, besides including copper is poisonous.

Missing in this discussion is that pink poly incorporates chemicals, such as amines, that may cause skin irritation or chemical emissions as it degrades. Pink poly also is humidity dependent, so is less effective in low humidity environments such as the desert. Reducing. With more countries making OEMs responsible for cradle-to-grave packaging, Intercept allows for reuse and lowers the transportation cost of shipping one-time-use pink poly back to the OEM.
