In 1985 I was a victim of a violent crime, stabbed in the heart by a theif. It's a miracle I'm alive. I used to be a strong supporter of the death penalty. But in 1995 tragedy hit home again. My sister was wrongfully convicted of a murder. She is currently in her 13th year of a 26 to life sentence. (I was her main alibi witness but tricked into not taking the stand at her trial). You can imagine how this development in our lives changed all of our views on the death penalty. Check out Cheri Dale
Thank you for opening my eyes to the complete injustice of the death penalty. I must admit I was pro death penalty at one time but thanks to Innocence Project and John Grisham's book, The Innocent Man, I have made a complete change in my beliefs on this subject. God bless you all as you reintegrate and I am so sad for your suffering.
