  • correcy me if im wrong vut doesnt the ss make 425 hotmrse power and this car made only 60 extra

  • @alligater7 We are happy to correct you. The LS3 Camaro SS is 425 horsepower from the factory, but the L99 Camaro SS (Automatic) such as the one in this video is only 400 horsepower from the factory. Also, all factory hp numbers are at the crank, while horsepower numbers on a dyno are at the rear wheels. An approximate 17-20% loss through the drivetrain is expected.

Therefore, the actual crank horsepower with the Vortech Supercharger is ~580, making the horsepower gain more like 180 extra.

  • I'm putting this supercharger on the same car, along with new headers, cats, a 3" competition exhaust and a stage 2 cam, can't wait to see what kind of sound and hp It's going to get!

  • Out of curiosity what gear was that run in? Any heat exchanger or just the blower?

  • @LaxMan851 The system includes a very large air to air intercooler.

  • I Have a 2008 automatic transmission v6 Mustang i would like to know if putting in a Vortech super charger is only compatible with manual transmissions?

  • @sniperlord666 - Automatic is no problem. The V6 system that we offer will have both the manual and auto tunes in the Diablo Predator when you receive it. Just install the complete system, upload the Vortech tune via the OBDII port under the dash, and BOOST AWAY!!!

  • @sniperlord666 your dumb . what does it mater in the motor if it is a auto or a manual, same motor right

  • how bout a rematch gt500kr?

  • really amazing with super only incress like 150 hoursepower.. with headers system it will be 520 or 530

  • @Xtreme21 - You may be comparing factory rated engine horsepower to the rear wheel horsepower numbers generated on the dyno. This would be an incorrect comparison, as rear wheel horsepower is the actual amount of power being transferred through the entire drivetrain and being put to the ground, while factory horsepower ratings are what an engine produces on its own before factoring in drivetrain losses. In general, drivetrain losses on a rear wheel drive vehicle are roughly between 17-20%.

  • @VortechSuperchargers thank you for profesionally telling him to fuck off.

  • @Xtreme21 - You don't know very much about cars do you? That's 484 REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER chief. The 400 horsepower you are so poorly comparing is factory CRANK horsepower. Factory rear wheel horsepower is more like 330-335. So, if my math is correct, that makes over 150 additional rear wheel horsepower...which is absolutely impressive to say the least.

  • I have a L99 SS.. what EXACTLY do i need to supercharge mines? aside from killing active fuel management, i've heard rumors of transmission bolts bending and other stuff once u get in the area of 426 HP which is why the Automatic only has 400.. is that true?

  • I do not know where you heard such a thing, but NO it is not true. The L99 makes less horsepower because it is a different engine. It has different heads, lower max rpm, and has variable valve timing (the LS3 does not).

There are absolutely no issues with any factory components when installing the Vortech Supercharging System on a completely stock L99, and everything you need is included with the system. Out of the box, onto the car, and GO HAVE FUN!

  • was that with Stock transmission? i can not fine how much the stock transmission can handle

  • Yes. Absolutely no transmission modifications are needed.

  • 130 extra....id like some.

  • IM Not a big chevy fan but the new camaro is very sharp and the supercharged numbers are very respectable!! I bet with very little tweekin 500hp is easy.

  • Damned good RWHP numbers man!

  • Nice! Not bad at all.

  • I'd expected more from a boosted 6.2 liter engine, not knocking it entirely just seems like low numbers.

  • Agree.

  • so on stock everything (boost and such) this supercharger can add 80+ horsepower to that car? (because the l99 was the A6 w/ AFM right? =400hp) Any idea what it costs? and do you have one for an lt1 or ls1?

  • 0-60 ?

  • VERY Very Impressive. GOOD Job guys.

  • With an exhaust this system will do as least 500rwhp.

  • screw exhaust, you could probably pulley it for 150 bucks and get a bigger gain than that.

  • Good stuff guys!

  • Wow! nice think if you modded exhaust and raised the afr, boost and added methanol injection!!

  • schweet!

  • Very Impressive.
