I love how that security guard as soon as he gets his gun out, Tom Cruise sees it straight away, and shoots before the guard has a chance to do anything. Thats some good awareness and fast aiming. Tom has the advantage because he doesn't have to make sure not kill pedestrians.. being a morally questionable hitman and all..
@sweiland75 ... Well he does "method" acting. So sometimes he sinks into his characters and sort of .. becomes them.. during day to day life, not just during shooting. The same thing Johnny Depp does. But like Johnny Depp, Tom Cruise has only done a few good films. I can't really understand it either....
one thing is for sure, this movie beats all the movies of this genre, very well done by everyone who is involved making this movie, especially Michael Mann
I literally can't get enought of watching this movie, this movie defenitely goes to my BEST MOVIES TOP 10, it's terrific movie of such unique director Michael Mann who always pushes things to the limit, just absolutely brilliant movie and Tom was very amazing in the movie ..!

I am always impressed with the collaboration of Michael Mann - i.e Collateral, Heat, Miami Vice (1980's series), etc. . . . Collateral fuckin rocks! The action sequences are great. But, the dialogue with it's "existential" subtlety is brilliant. Awesome flick, dialogue, soundtrack, and acting - period! Cheers!
One of the coolest sequences in a movie I've seen. The music is awesome. Cruise is a badass. The build-up of tension, with the chaotic atmosphere, is fuckin great! Michael Mann is a great director.
Ready Steady Go Music and these scenes pls...1st chase scene, when Richter loses Quaid in the Subway all that blood when Quaid kills those 4 guys att the top of the escalator, 2nd scene when Quaid gets mugged by 4 guys and kills DEM ALL!!, 3rd scene when Quaid is locked into the Mid control chair on Mars and escapes then kills most of the lab crew, 4th scene when Quaid kills the whole army near the end and final battle with Richter to da DEATH!
just visited bliss yesterday; looks the same, but a lot SMALLER :) has also some korean(?) clippings about collateral near the entrance ...and in the loo. does someone know what the clippings are about? don't understand the korean(?) letters.
@michaelkrois I am half angry about that. I don't really like him as an actor but man, he just nails that character. I can't really diss him anymore, even for the Oprah shit that he pulled. Not when I enjoy watching him in collateral that much.
READY STEADY GO !! ! xD can i find the video of this thing like at movie when it shows the screen playing song there is a girl white girl moving all that stuff ? :S

i wonder who coached tom cruise on his shooting drills, they are fast and agressive, almost military in style, even when he stops to reload he does it lighting quick, great actor and movie.
Vincent foreshadowed his own fate when he told Max about the corpse doing laps around L.A. with nobody noticing......I love how Tom Cruise kind of gave up at the end, knowing that he was truly alone (the bad guy)...
The ending scene along with the scene where Max stops for the wolves crossing the road, along with this scene, are the best scenes in this epic movie.
Michael Mann's best film, hands down. Better than Heat. Way better.
about the ending; max was vincent's most/only close/true human relationship, and how much was that...
vincent's "interaction habits/patterns" with the world wouldn't let him survive. a profound movie.
but hey; i think max stops for the traffic lights, not for the coyotes who just happen to appear at that moment. what would this "mean" for the "meaning of the scene"?
aww ma fav movie and fav song, why he have to die in the end, jason stathem was in the start of the film, paul oakenfold - ready steady go (korean mix)
Makes me laugh when they say hes mad, hes 46 married to a twenty year old, owns Universal is one of the biggest acters in the world. is happy and loaded,
But they didn't play THIS version of Ready, steady, go in the movie, did they? I never heard that he sang Ready, steady, go... Only the synth-part. Does anyone know what that version is called?
@sabercast well if you really think about it, the cabbie had vincent's gun, so he had to rely on a "battlefield pickup" when he goes to index a mag for a weapon that isnt his, he's thrown off. ode to an underlying theme in the movie, that we're all creatures of habit.
@yos1994 I agree. Here we have a professional killer and he dies by a loser taxi driver who wants to start his own limo business. I would have been okay with the ending if they both had gotten shot and only max got help or if he had not killed the prosecutor because Max liked her.

Tom Cruise is underrated. He`s a scientologist and that`s funny as balls, but he`s awesome in movies as well, and people like to ignore that fact.

One of my favorite movie scenes ever:
Man in formal attire walks (not run) through nightclub making a mockery of organized security and the LAPD

Reason why? Tom Cruise is shot, none of this arm crap, he gets blasted in the face by a .45ACP, coming from his own gun.

The ending of Heat shits all over Collateral. In fact Heat generally shits all over Collateral, on so many levels.
Collateral is still an awesome film though.
