With all due respect, I believe Raiden could defeat Frank Jaeger (Gray Fox). He has a more advanced exoskeleton, I believe that he has superior strength (he stopped an entire warship with his back, but Frank couldn't push away Rex when he was caught between its beak and the wall), and I think his sword might be sharper (Frank cut through people, Raiden cut through gekko). I still have great respect for the two (as characters of course).
I love Raiden, but let's face it. If he wasn't a cyborg, he wouldn't stand a chance of killing even a mortal vamp in CQC. Even with all of his strength and agility, I believe he only won this fight because he was so d*** hard to kill, thanks to his robotic attributes. I always geek out over this fight...

the main problems are that raiden's limits aren't fully known, nor are grey fox's, in equipment OR personal ability. we know that grey fox was so adept that he was given his signature codename, but raiden was a very young and inexperienced soldier from the start, and his previous experience was vastly different as a child soldier, so although raiden certainly has a certain aptitude for killing, he still has yet to prove himself.

@hendrixnava when a soldier was firing on fox, he was able to deflect the bullets so quick all that was visible was an afterimage, if that, while at the same time continuing to slowly walk forward as if nothing were going on. later he even had the reaction time and precision to turn around at a gunshot and cut the bullet in half in a way that also didnt harm his captive at the time, although whether that was intentional remains to be seen i suppose i dont remember seeing raiden stop bullets in 4

@hendrixnava the difference in technology between the two no doubt would give raiden significant advantages somehow, but from 4 alone i couldnt gleam any significant upgrades in power. assuming he is actually using his full capability the only possibility i could think of was that the focus in development for this technology was a decrease in user deterioration and an increase in durability and sustainability. raiden never had any mental breakdowns like fox, screaming and lashing out in pain.

octocon is not a fighting character he is a scared useless tool when he gets on the front line himself but that's not his role. raiden gets overwhelmed damn near constantly, needs reassurance from eery character in the game and even then still gives up, and he is "supposed" to be fighting on the front line. he sucks in his own role while octocon is much better in his role

I think that this game is one the best that I ever played, because for example in Call of duty the only thing that you can do is shoot a gun or making a melee, but in this we can use cqc and the final I think that is awesome

@DKAkuYaenko The Grayfox story has awesome potential for a game! I totally agree that if Kojima could somehow rework the character into some type of prequel to the original PS1 game, it could become one of the most compelling chapters in the franchise.. although it would take away something of the aura of mystery surrounding his character. And something about the original voice of Grayfox had a certain "gravitas" that Raiden just doesn't have.
Only Hideo Kojima would be insane enough to make a fight that good into picture-in-picture. Thanks for this, I am always too focused on kicking Gecko ass to watch the battle.
@lukemc1878 he wears the "high heels" because his fighting style requires a lot of acrobatic movement and if you pay attention to martial artists, the ones who use their legs are on their toes, not their heels a lot of the time because it reduces their reaction time and they can much faster. Whoever came up with Raiden's character model really did his research.

Ya know why MGS is awesome? In most films and games, this would be the final fight of the movie. In MGS, this takes up half the screen, and isn't even one of the most important fights, and is still incredible.
If the story of Rising and MGS4 don't end up connecting halfway through MGS:Rising, and if this isn't a boss fight for Raiden, I'm going to be one angry motherfucker.

I think this song is fitting for this fight. It is in sync almost everytime. The best is when vamp spams raiden with throwing knives, the trumpets come in and the part when vamp unsheathes raidens sword there's the drums.
I got so sad cause the song playing got sad when raiden got put on his knees and stabbed in the neck :') even though the title says raiden kills vamp , the song made it feel like it was the end of raiden :') Infinite Thumbs up :') this made my morning .

@DKAkuYaenko The Grayfox story has awesome potential for a game! I totally agree that if Kojima could somehow rework the character into some type of prequel to the original PS1 game, it could become one of the most compelling chapters in the franchise.. although it would take away something of the aura of mystery surrounding his character. And something about the original voice of Grayfox had a certain "gravitas" that Raiden just doesn't have.

@lukemc1878 he wears the "high heels" because his fighting style requires a lot of acrobatic movement and if you pay attention to martial artists, the ones who use their legs are on their toes, not their heels a lot of the time because it reduces their reaction time and they can much faster. Whoever came up with Raiden's character model really did his research.

@lukemc1878 well, you've got me there. :) Hell, maybe they really are claws. But if you look at the frog troops (masked women with P90s) they have those same claws on their toes, as does the robot from the MGS Rising trailer. Maybe they just give all robots claw nails in the future. :/

@luievd89 While I love the change in him, retrospectivly its kinda saddening as well, he believes his unborn son was miscarried and the person he loved married another, and now his new body made it impossible for him to be part of society, so he really has nothing to live for but battle, kinda makes his comment of "I just don't fear death" more poignant, since he has nothing to live for. So glad in the end it was shown to all be lies, and he got a realistic body back.

Ya know why MGS is awesome? In most films and games, this would be the final fight of the movie. In MGS, this takes up half the screen, and isn't even one of the most important fights, and is still incredible.

I think this song is fitting for this fight. It is in sync almost everytime. The best is when vamp spams raiden with throwing knives, the trumpets come in and the part when vamp unsheathes raidens sword there's the drums.

Great video. I always thought it was stupid they had this playing while you had to shoot gekkos and thus... couldn't watch it.
Still Vamp takes an awful amount of punishment considering that his healing powers are supposed to be gone in this fight. And it fazes him less than Raiden, who's made of metal.
