JOHNNY RIP it was a pleasure to play with u the 2 years we spent together in the same band i will never again meet the likes of u i will remember u forever so sad ur gone
@starr99797 you must be so proud to have played with the likes of Johnny Donegan, the few times I met him was a pleasure and I have a video recording of him performing with Ann Marie and the Ferrymen a good few years back. A unique performer who will never be forgotten and his music will continue to be played in my house for many years to come.
im cork born but in limerick 32 of 34 years..my father in law god rest him told me about JOHNNY DONEGAN..he was from askeaton..rathkeale man myself..great singer rare voice..may he live to a hundred ..go on johnny..
@briankett8 yeah Johnny is a true republican and a great character, ive been lucky enough to meet him both in London and back in Limerick on several occassions and hope to see him again soon as its been a long while now since i've heard him sing live but he doesn;t do too many gigs these days.
Great song Johnny,1st time hearing it & I love it.Your version of "kilmichael" is my favourite of all the singers I have heard sing it. Keep up the good work.
I know Johnny personally and i can say that he is a 100% gent and gives a great performance in the local bars......... Thank you johnny for the great music.........
Johnny Donegan is originally a Cork man from Milford and now living on the cork and Limerick border in a place called Dromcollogher. He plays at various Irish republican functions around Ireland but Im sure he plays around his local area too but he also goes to America from time to time.
rest in peace johnny a true irishman
