  • Very informative. Thank you. I understand Xigris and it's relation to C-Reactive Protein...now that it's been pulled guess not so important.. but was still taught to our ADN class at the beginning of the semester; in case it's on the final now i'll know it's correlation to SIRS. :)

  • Note that Xigris has now been withdrawn from the market, worldwide. Search fda.gov for Xigris- it was voluntarily withdrawn because no survival benefit was shown. Great videos, by the way!

  • @TorturedMu5e Thank you for adding this important update! The drug manufacturer has pulled the drug from the market after the Prowess-Shock trial failed to show a survival benefit from its use. Experts believe that following guideline-directed care improves outcomes in septic shock and that Xigris is unnecessary. Fin out more about guideline directed therapy at surviving sepsis.org.
