Yes, I've been looking for the >Dance< album for many years all over Europe because the other is so great, but it is not available anywhere. And here -to my surprise- I find dozens of recordings ! If youtube didn't exist, it would have been invented !

Prior and Tabor are still active, but were never a "group" together. They did do two albums, Silly Sisters, and Silly Sisters: No More to the Dance. This is from their first album. They each have an impressive body of work, Prior with Steeleye Span, solo work, and other work with the Carnival Band. Tabor with the Oyster Band and many solo albums. They are considered the two foremost interpreters of the traditional music of England and Scotland.

I first heard this song live performed by Rant Maggie Rant - an accompanied and up-tempo rendition. Then I went and got the Silly Sisters disc for their version, then the Ballads and Candles DVD. Good music's addictive is what it is.

Great to find these two imporant artists from the early Brit trad./folk/rock era.

I keep checking for (the)Strawbs, Fotheringay, Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny, Ian Matthews - they were all interchangable, lol, playing in each other's bands. Oh, and Steeleye Span, and Pentangle - we need to see more from these great groups that influenced so many others.
