  • Well done on the video! Added to worldunitedmusicDOTblogspotDOTcom

  • This tune is awesome, the rough harmonica and the acoustic guitar bring images of the apple scruffs girls waiting at Abbey Road...

  • this is a beautiful song. that's it.

  • This is an adorable song. <3

  • George has been my favorite Beatle as of late because he was the one who brought meditation, vegetarianism and eastern sitar music into western culture. RIP George.

  • I love, love, love this song.

  • son, your video whipped ass

  • This song is so loving. I can just picture those sweethearts with nowhere to go, hanging around, no place they'd rather be.

  • This is really a lovely video. I'm so glad to have stumbled upon it. Thank you for sharing it!

  • Thank you, honey...it totally did not suck! Bless you.

  • Hey! Thanks for posting this video - some pics I have not seen before. Anyway, I was reading the thread and well, a lot has been said. I will just say that I have always been a huge beatles fan and love the solo stuff even more. Lately, George has been my favorite. His lyrics, guitar and just everything - I love it. Question - is this song about the people that hung out at Apple records or the fellow beatles? Thanks again for posting!

  • @kevlvpr I originally thought it was about the other Beatles when making this video a couple years back, but it's about the groupies that hung outside of Apple Records :)

  • It's a lovely song and I always loved it. I bought the Triple Album when it came out and I know George wrote it for the "Apple Scruffs". They know who they were.

    End of story.

  • Isn't it a pity

    Isn't it a shame

How we break each other's hearts

    And cause each other pain

How we take each other's love

    Without thinking anymore

    Forgetting to give back

    Isn't it a pity - George Harrison "Isn't it a pity"

  • @savoytruffle96 Hey Savoy, Flghtwolf IS TwoUselesslegs. This guy trolls under these names:

Flghtwolf,Twouselesslegs, CubanChezGuevara,GrinchI7, Magpieye, and a million other IDs. He hates George Harrison. And his fans. Punk ass wolfy trolls all day and night under those fake names trying to destroy Harrison sites. He pretends that he's and intellectual. Yah. The fuck never graduated from any school. Never learned to play an instrument. And he's a chicken shit too.

  • Happy Birthday George...we still miss you.

  • *sigh

Why does George attract all the Beatles lunatics who like to come around here every full moon and bash him? John and Paul get their share but it's very vicious with George, I think because he was a Hindu/Buddhist, not a Christian. I think you should just disable comments.

  • @superman11978:

There ain't no "all" here bashing George! it's ONE person trolling under the fake, fake ID's of Flghtwolf,CubanChezGuevara, TwouselessLegs,theGrinchI7, Magppieye, they're all the SAME asshole! He's a Harrison hating fuckhead who goes from Harrison thread to Harrison thread trying to destroy site and bully Harrison fans. He tries to come off as an intellectual but he never went to any college or learned to play any musical instrument.

    Ain't that right Flightwolf/TwoUselessLegs!

  • These Apple Scruffs are so fucking annoying. Beatles sucks and Apple Scruff can go beg to suck their rotten cocks.

  • That's the thing about George, he never had any discipline. When he stumbled onto the SLIDE, he overused it. When he couldn't think of an idea of a song, he'd PLAGIARIZE it. Of course, we all know what an "Apple Scruff" is it's just that we don't go running out and make a SONG about them. It seems whatever George THINKS, he tries to turn it into a song! He never realized that THINKING IT doesn't mean you SING IT!

  • BEFORE ANYONE ELSE COMMENTS I WOULD LIKE TO SAY STOP ARGUING. I DO NOT APPRECIATE WHAT'S BEING WRITTEN AS COMMENTS OF MY VIDEO. SOME OF IT IS CRUDE AND AWFUL, NO MATTER WHAT SIDE. LET IT DIE AND JUST APPRECIATE THE SONG.

  • @savoytruffle96 Hey I Like It A LOT Way Cool PICS .

The world is full of holes .

    Best Regards ,

    Shotgun

I read the news today Oh " Boy " >>>>>> Blackburn Langinshure

  • @savoytruffle96 - No disrespect...but, this is not your "video". Even if by chance you put it all together, the images are not yours. The songs is not yours. Not even the comments are yours. Personally, I rather enjoy debate and other ideas. It's not an "argument" just because somebody doesn't like George Harrison. As long as people don't get obscene or start throwing personal insults, that's what a comment board all about. Yes? I mean, you don't want to just hear ONE OPINION? Do you?

  • @FrightwoIf You have a point. I put it together but the pictures and music aren't mine. This was just an idea I had 3 years ago as an inexperienced video-maker. I admit the first comment from @TwoUselessLegs annoyed me, so I threatened to delete his comments. I disagree with them, but I haven't. I see how comment board should be used for opinions, but "hey dumbass" and "sick asshole"... that, in my opinion, is a little much. I'll keep things open, whatever's whatever. Just wanted some peace.

    Ban this lying motherfucker.

  • @FrightwoIf:

OH, FUCK YOU you asshole! All you do is troll, troll, troll. Yah. That and run away when you are called out on your bullshit. Why don't you admit to savoytruffle that YOU are twouselesslegs. Bullshitter. Your whole schtick is trolling under twouselesslegs, cubanchezguevara, flightwolf, magpieye, and fuck all knows how many more fake names you came up with. Asshole!

  • @FrightwoIf George would do as we all do. Let love grow

  • Also, I thought it was a fine video. I especially liked the photos of Paul and Linda, George and Pattie, Ringo and Maureen, and John and Yoko. Well done.

  • Wow! It is just amazing how a worthless troll can garner so much response! I'll bet he's gettin blisters from wanking over these! Let's get back to the music, shall we? And it is great. A tribute to a group of girls who used to hang out in front of Apple. I've always loved the simplicity of this song. It's beautiful.

  • WOW! Jealous people, I don't see you making millions doing songs and videos STFU

  • If you don't enjoy the music, keep your quasi-astute, ego-tripping comments to yourself and go find something you *do* like. "Thanks, tune poster".

  • Coolest rock band of all time.

  • Best rock band that ever walked the world..

  • George's music constitutes BAD POETRY. His lyrics and phrasing are way off. That he was a Beatle is probably the only reason nobody bothered ever telling him. I mean, he's a Beatle...HE MUST KNOW. Right? Later, when he went solo and was older, George was pretty much done listening to people who might've told him how far off course he was. George Martin, John Lennon were long gone. Still, had he consulted wiser people, his career would've spared this RINKY-DINK nonsense. "Apple Scruffs"? ...UGH!

  • @TwoUselessLegs All I'm going to say are two songs: Something and Here Comes the Sun - two masterpieces - both written by George, and two great masterpieces (and I mean masterpieces). Both songs are on a multitude of lists as some of the best songs of that time. Besides, anyone that could come up with the phrase "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" - well, they've got some ability.

  • George's music constitutes bad poetry. His lyrics and phrasing are off. That he was a Beatle is probably why nobody bothered telling him. By the time he was making this kind of music he was pretty much done with listening to people telling him what to do and not do. Still, had he consulted wiser people, his career would've spared this RINKY-DINK nonsense. "Apple Scruffs"? ...UGH!

  • @TwoUselessLegs Of course the lyrics seem like nonsense when you don't know what "Apple scruffs" means. I suggest you try and find out what a song is about before you deliver your judgement.

  • Apple scruffs how I love you forever and always.

  • @TwoUselessLegs wow. it's pretty annoying when people comment on song videos to say how much they hate the song, or just the artist. it's alright if you don't like his music, as sad as that is, but george wrote this song for his fans. if you're not one of them you don't have to share that with youtube. i don't look up justin bieber videos and comment a paragraph to say how much i don't like him. don't reply trying to defend whatever point your making here, i'll just end up removing it.

  • @savoytruffle96 - Well, this is your video. If you want to run an echo-chamber, be my guest. Still, I find it interesting that only George inspires this kind of damage-control and myth-making. John and Paul never received this kind of spin. Nobody ever went to a John Lennon video and said "he's underrated". "Apple Scruffs" like so many of George's songs suffers an awkward melody and self-conscious lyrics. I like George as a Beatle. When he really WAS "quiet" and didn't confuse himself for a god.

  • @TwoUselessLegs Damage control and myth-making? Funnnnny stuff. As far as I know, Beatles fans get pretty worked up about ALL of The Beatles, not just George. And I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just saying no need for the hate. Simply say to yourself, "I don't like this video" and move on.

  • @TwoUselessLegs Your are one of the stupidest fuckers on the internet. They shouldn't give computers to dumbass 10 year olds who have no idea what they're talking about. Don't comment on a video if you don't like it.

  • @TwoUselessLegs Hey dumbass it's not about apples, it's about the "scruffs" that would hang around outside the Beatles studio.

And George was the best Beatle.

  • @TwoUselessLegs Boy, you have issues!!

  • @savoytruffle96 Hey Savoy, Flghtwolf IS TwoUselesslegs. This guy trolls under these names:

  • @savoytruffle96 he does have a point, this song really is poorly written and quite crappy. And nobody cares what you do in your room when thinking of Justin Biebers posters.

  • @TwoUselessLegs I LOVE this song douche bag! Wanna know soe trivia? Bobby Keys told me he played on this however he didn't say what instrument. I can only guess but he did say he played on this and on '

    Got to Get YOu Into My Life".. SO poofter...get your useless legsa a dandcin and try to be in a better mood ey??? This is a great song and you know you just a little brown today{Constipated don't ya know}

Go make some brown and then have another listen.

  • @TwoUselessLegs Useless.

  • @TwoUselessLegs u suck.....your loss

  • @TwoUselessLegs Haha you fucking dick you really dont know anything about music please fuck off thanks

  • @TwoUselessLegs there is nothing better than simplicity, happy Christmas, oh yeah, jingle bells jingle bells jingling all the way....yikes you miss the whole gist of the universe....

  • @TwoUselessLegs Tremendous song. Upbeat. Great rhythm. Sweet vocals and harmonica. Not Beethoven's Ninth, but a jolly tune. Don't be a hater on a dead man...

  • @TwoUselessLegs Sweet song. Nice rhythm, lovely vocal, tremendous harmonica and recording production. Very upbeat and jolly. Don't be hatin' on a dead man...

  • @TwoUselessLegs

hey Fag, how bout you go get raped again by your grandpa..... who gives a shit what u think of Harrison. A billion people love him, and your just a fuckin wanker that sucks Ass! Apparently you know nothing about music, and you're probably worth as much as the water that collects at the bottom of a chinese food restaurant dumpster.....

  • @kiradelorean Two thumbs down to both you and TwoUselessLegs. Petty 4th grade stuff here.

  • @TwoUselessEars : How sad that you don't understand or appreciate the genius of Harrison... You cited two hits of his...Ironically, he would have claimed those two to be rather pedestrian ..sheer production quota for the band. Clearly those resonated with you. Now please, spare the rest of us from your hateful banality.. Thank You.

  • @TwoUselessLegs Have you ever listened to Here Comes the Sun? Or My Sweet Lord? Or any else of his hit songs?! Why don't you make #1 songs and albums and be a critically, world-renowned rock star before insulting one.:)

  • @TwoUselessLegs Have you ever listened to Here Comes the Sun? Or My Sweet Lord? Or any else of his hit songs?! Why don't you make #1 songs and albums and be a critically, world-renowned rock star before insulting one.:)

  • @TwoUselessLegs Face it; your just a SICK ASSHOLE

  • @TwoUselessLegs Do you even know what an apple scruff is??

  • @TwoUselessLegs It's a small point, but George didn't make up the term "Apple Scuffs" which you seem to have a problem with - he just melodified it :)

  • @RingeorgeMcLennon - I'm reminded of Tracy Chapman's

method of song-writing made famous by the Saturday Night

Live sketch. Tracy looks out the window of her New York

apartment window and just starts writing a song about whatever

she sees: "Man walkin' across the street, gets into a cab, look at

his feet". This isn't poetry nor is it good song writing. George often

THINKS it or HEARS it...then puts it down on paper without considering

it or editing. Much of his music is this way.

  • Love George!!

  • Very cool back story to this song. Harrison wrote it about Beatles fans who would hang out near their studios to get a glimpse of them. They were called "Apple Scruffs."

  • Timeless.

  • You did an amazing job. "While the years they come and go..." I'm tearing up.

  • youve been stood around for years, seen my smiles and touched my tears.....I dedicated this line to my parents in my nursing school yearbook.... Loved George's first solo album....

  • your video certainly did NOT "suck".. perfectly balanced .. I loved it! kudos to you savoy

  • I honestly had no clue what that was about! To be honest.. I was leaning towards an old English desert.. ;)

  • Appple Scruffs were a hardcore group of Beatle fans who, it is said, hung out in front of the Apple Corp building and at the gates of Abby Road Studios in London hoping to make contact with one of the Fab Four.

  • Comment removed

  • @kissesandthrills Actually, it wasn't. "apple scruffs" is wat the hardcore Beatles fans who always stood around the Apple building, Abbey Road Studios, and the Beatles' homes in hopes of seeing or interacting with one of the Beatles, were called.

  • R.I.P George Harrison you'll always be in my heart

  • Good Video Production Techniques! Enjoyed it very much.

  • love it!!!!!

  • i think paul had some work done on his face...

  • i didn't even realize what this song was about til right now! haha now it makes sense! and your video didn't suck, i liked it! :D

  • great video savoy, great stuff!!!

  • your video didn´t suck, it was nice actually :)

  • i think it's great.......

  • Could anybody tell me the meaning of "apple scruffs" ? Are the scruffy members of Apple records or the remaining parts of an eaten apple, or what ?

  • @McLushi "Apple Scruff" is a term referring to the groupies who would wait outside apple corps waiting for a glimpse at a Beatle...one of them came in through Paul's bathroom window (like the song) and stole a pair of his pants once.

  • @EvelKinevelable Thank you so much. I remember questioning this about 30 years ago my english-teacher, who could not know this. Not even my friend Neil from England - a big Beatles-fan - knew. Now, finally I know it, thank you. It's crasy, loving a song, playing it on the guitar for twennyodd years and not to know anything about it's meaning. God bless you.

  • @EvelKinevelable I love this!

  • Great Vid:)

  • I've always loved this song, might be my favorite Harrison song. Good on you for creating a video to go with it.

  • I love George "unplugged". He regretted that he hadn't kept the pre-Spector produced recordings of All Things Must Pass. So do I.

  • Great song, brings back memories if listening to All Things Must Pass on eigtht track as a teenager!

  • 1:57 AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!

  • OMG...It's me again... so far I only listened to this 3 times today...don't worry I'm not a stalker...just a crazed Geroge fan!!!!!

  • great song... it reminds me bob dylan

  • @emmansal why would this get a thumbs down? he didn't say it was a rip off or something. The beatles and Bob were great friends

  • I watched this so far 7 times...It's 6:15 am & I have not slept yet...sometimes insomnia isn't so bad! I luv u George!

  • The chorus makes me think of Elliott Smith (I know George came first, I'm not stupid) ! Beautiful song !

  • 0:35 LMAO i love that!!

  • one of my favorite songs

and great job with all the pics (:

  • When I was about 16 i had a girl friend named Ruthi. She was my apple scruffs back then. When I think of you Ruthi I still smile after all these years

  • You did a cool job ! My friend just sent this to me and it made me cry. We used to sing this over and over in junior high. We are still the same...oh yeah !!!

  • Nice job on that "first video"

  • I love this song! It's so George. It's cool though because you can kind of hear Beatles influences in there too. Although the pictures may be influencing me a little. :)

  • Great melody, harmony .

I again discovered the beauty of the album All Things Must Pass..

    George is GENIUS !!

    You got my five!!!

  • im an apple scruff!

  • we are all apple scruffs (:

  • @marylovesthebeatles I'll bet you anything you weren't born when Apple Scruffs existed. They were just as George describes them. Camping out day and night. A shower every now and then...Screw the make-up. Eat from hand-outs from passerby's..hobo's for Beatles. Could you have done it seriously???

  • @LennonMeringuePie i was not born then sadly.... :'(..... but i thought an apple scruff was a hard core beatles fan...

  • @marylovesthebeatles If so you must be a rotten one by now

  • @slamoslut huh?

  • @marylovesthebeatles Me Too!! :D I'm surprised noone had yet taken my username :P

  • what was the name of his latest song released in August 2001 before his death?

  • @djdcrazy i think you're talking about 'Horse to the Water,' which I don't think was released in his name. It was about his smoking habits..... :(

  • yes, "horse to the water" was released on a Jools Holland album. George does sing the tune.

i think there is an article about the song on wikipedia.

  • @djdcrazy I think you're thinking of "Stuck Inside A Cloud" which was on his last album "Brainwashed"

  • I don't know why but this song just came into my head, haven't heard it for ages, so I came on here to listen....

  • @shrivel1 Same thing happened to me. I used to love this song but hadn't thought of it for years and years. It really brings something back...

  • Great song, just heard it on a college station and had to hear it again. Havn't heard it played on the radio in over 20 years. Rates up there with my all time Beatle favorites, Taxman,Revolution, and Happy Birthday.

  • this was a thank you to the staff at apple which was a business that thebeatles set up i feel george is with us in spirit. am a medium. really. go with your intuition...

  • my intuition tells me that mediums are a bunch of bullshit and that no one can have a clue about what happens to human consciousness after death.

  • thank you for this-good work. I get teary listening to the lyrics and remembering the good times.

  • i read the book- Watring for the beatles and Apple Scruffs stroy ill rrecommend it for anybody whose a beatles fan unbelievable i loved it

  • I like the song, but alot of the slideshow was the beatles, Sticking to george woulvde been better in my opinion since this was his song not the beatles

  • Well, to be honest, I didn't really know much about the song when I posted this video. I know it's from All Things Must Pass, an album that George made without The Beatles, because that's where I got the song. But at the time, I thought it was about the band, not its groupies.

But I know better now. I agree with you, but I think I'd rather just leave the video as it is.

  • I think the Beatles photos work better than just pics of George because this song was about those die hard Beatles fans that hung around. True it was on All Things Must Pass, but it really is talking about that special period of time.

  • Excellent!! 5*****

  • ...good stuff....made me rememberr...n' feel good, good, good..

    thnx

  • purrrrrrrr. LOVES IT!!

  • Love this song, really miss harmonica, rarely find it in today's music.

  • @okfinefcs My husband BOOM is the bomb on haromica!

  • @okfinefcs lol yeah... I just found this on Chachi's Beatle Brunch, never knew how it sounded until last Sunday xD

  • I love the song, did you know George wrote it whilst the Beatles were together but didn't release it until 'All things must pass'

    Which is a great album.

  • yeah, i know. I have the album. well, the anniversary release. you can't find the original anymore in stores : (

i just thought this would be a good photo montage.... but thanks for the info.

  • 0:53 !!!

  • what about it?

  • nothing I just like that picture.

  • Whenever I hear this song I'm always struck with the urge to learn how to play the harmonica.

  • It didn't suck man...it brought tears to my eyes.

  • thanks.

  • GREAT TIMES !!!!

  • GEORGE <3

    beatles <3<3

  • Always loved the sound of this track, and the entire All Things Must Pass album. Thanks for posting.
