  • extra kick at the start doesent belong and tom groove intro slightly wrong plus tighten up the snare skin it sounds like a pillow farting ..... aside from that cool well done

  • @SIFLINT1 A pillow farting?? LOL!! Thanks!

  • @gallupi1965 ignore me i was just at war with snare sounds for a while when i had my remo mastertouch

  • Hello, could you mind telling me where you got the song without the drums at? I'm doing a cover on this too and can't find a song without the drums.

  • @FarOutLetMeOn

Take Nothing Else Matters that was my first song :)

  • I HAVE THAT DRUM SET! wait... is it red? i cant tell if its just the vid or not. either way its a cool drum set, i gotta learn how to play mine though :p great playing too!

  • Nice :D I'm just starting drums myself and looked around for the easiest metallica song to play on drums. I think this looks a little more easy than some metallica songs so I'm going to do this :)

  • you are a great drummer!

  • Another excellent one.

  • man your drums sound awesome they gotta super tight sound especially that snare man. mad skills too. awesome videos

  • I want a fucking granpa like you!

  • hooooo my goddd one of the best videosss dudeee u r a awesome drumerr....!!!!!

  • Hey, Dom..... You're right. I didn't even think abt the mounting arms possibly being diff... I do like the Pearl Hardware tho. I got a buddy who works for Sam Ash here in Chgo. I put him on the case but he keeps whiffing.... I'll mention your equip. and see if he's got it in stock so he can tell first-hand if they're compatible. Thanks for responding so soon. If you're ever here in Chi-Town, drop me a line. We'll go mangia sme good stuff and go hear sme good local music... Take Care...Tom

  • Hey, buddy its me again. Quick question; Can you tell me what kind of rack tom stand you have" I mean, if you got a brand ( I'm guessing Pearl.. they make GREAT hardware) and a model number or name it would be huge... I got a D-Dub kit with oversized rack toms and guess what... They didn't make the mounted stem long enough to accomodate the larger drums. So I gotta put them on an angle I don't like to get them to fit. Offset to the side would be ideal. Can you help? Thanks, Paisan !

  • @TazzzyA4 Hey Tazz! It's just the Pearl 900 series hardware that comes standard with the Pearl Vision series kit. Not sure is this will even fit with a DW kit as the Tom mounting arms are quite different. You'd have to use Pearl's ISS tom mounts as well.

  • 3 things man 1 you have an awesome drum set 2 u have a mac desk top 3 above all man u are freak en good i did not see one mess up not that i think u would but u r really good post more and do smells like teen spirit.

  • @guitarlord214 actually this was the first full song I ever learned to play, extremely simple, it's all the character and personalization that you add into it that makes it good, the guy right here makes it seem harder than it is mainly because he plays with such articulate precision and is spot on with every detail, what he adds on makes it seem more complex and too see that he can make a song with drum parts by lars fucking ulrich sound great is impressive seeing that Lars is all basics, this

  • Nice job old stones, you can join my band any day of the week....solid performance...thumbs up

  • I'm a drummer my self and that is a hard song ta play!!

  • NICE.. Kinda sounds like AVH playing Metallica. Your vids are great man..

  • your good now try seasons in the abyss by slayer pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeease

  • dude, awesome! one question, what kind of cymbals are those? they sound pretty decent

  • @MegaDrumCover4You A mix of Zildjian and Sabian. They're pretty vintage, bought them second hand. Don't know what series they are. HiHats are Sabian Double AA's

  • Loved it man!! You got talent

  • You played the intro wrong

  • @QuarterForce wrong wrong WRONG.

  • @ALEXXvsZOMBIES It's the truth. The intro with the toms is wrong

  • your a boss

  • Nice - so what's the real story? Played in a garage band for awhile before you hung your CPA shingle? Pediatrics during the day and flashback drumming in the man cave at night? Regardless, excellent work - your material has certainly made my otherwise dull evenings pass more smoothly!

  • Great job on this... Nice kit. Your style is nice and easy ... You don't overplay.... The nuances you've either added, or picked up on are really cool, like the little roll on the cymbals instead of a straight strike. I have heard this song a million times but never really played it and now my bandmates want to do it.... That's why I'm watching you !! From one Paisan to another, I'm proud of you !!

  • @TazzzyA4 Thanks Paisan!!

  • @TazzzyA4 except that instead of hitting the tom on the far left and then the one right next to it they way the song is written, he's hitting just the one tom the whole intro. other than that, nice cover.

  • Have you ever covered any Slayer?

  • @tlo7533 nope

  • 0:57 actually kind of looks like Lars...

  • great, amazing<3

  • "For all the metal heads out there. Here I am playing along to a drumless track. Fun song to play!!"

Hy wher can you get drumles tracks???

    Txs nice drum cover...

  • what kinda heads do you use? evans?

  • @EVERYTHINGELECTRON1C Evans EC2 batters on the Toms, stock Pearl Protone resos. Evans Genera Dry batter on snare and Aquarian Superkick 2 on the kick.

  • @gallupi1965 ooops...actually, when I made this video I still had the stock Pearl Protone batters on the toms. I've since upgraded to the Evans.

  • nice cover!! metallica RULES!!

  • great cover, are you using the stock heads as your snare resonant? you're getting a great sound on the toms with the stock heads

  • you should cover now or never by confide.

  • How many mics do you use for your covers ?

  • one person doesn't know how to play the drums.. :p

  • Wow, I totally admire you!

  • this is so amazing, love it man, keep it up

  • great cover...u should do this for a living...lol

  • always have trouble at the end, thanks! what kind of beaters you use?

  • love metallica but i always thought lance was a sloppy drummer, you most need to switch out with him, great job man

  • @BigK606 first of all you thought lance was a sloppy....wait rewind....its LARS!! ... secondly you cant be sloppy if you made the tracks you tard

  • You could have put more bass, other then that very nice vid man keep it up ;)

  • What Model is your set ? I love the sound, and i'm in need of an upgrade. Please reply !

  • @freakface123 Pearl Vision VBX Series

  • @gallupi1965 does it come with everything but cymbals or is it just a shell pack?

  • @xkillaxskillx1 shells and hardware, no cymbals

  • @gallupi1965 what about heads?

  • @xkillaxskillx1 it came with stock Pearl Protone heads

  • Not a fan of the sound the snare is making, but I still love this cover.

  • Well done...

  • I heard Lars Tried covering this.

  • Where did you get the drumless track?

  • @mellonman64

On a website, precisely Frets on Fire's official forum, you can get the multitracks of the songs included in almost all Guitar hero and Rock band games. Just put the multitrack you want on Audacity (for example), and mute the guitar/bass/voice (...) channel. Here you have the backing track.

  • nice!

  • very cooool men sounds great

  • crystal clear dummin man!.. rock on!

  • one person forgot to sleep with one eye open

  • Chuck Norris envy's you

  • this vid KICKS ASS!

  • Nice, Dom!

  • 100th view!

  • awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaahhhhh.

  • Great job, as always. Keep the camera rolling!

  • Awsome job Dom!!! I gotta say, I have the same drums, how do you get yours tunned so low. They sound great.

  • @sxfd43 Thanks! I make sure the batter and resonant heads are tuned to the same pitch. Alot of the sound has to do with the mics and the mix as well.

  • I dig your vids because they are so clean and sound amazing.awesome job

  • Great sound on those toms!. Really tight and great production.

  • Nice Job ! Spot On bro ! Perhaps the snare mic was in the way due to the additional tom, and that's why it's mounted to the right side ?? May try that myself

  • @helmet19 Yeah....I found that I was always hitting that mic with my sticks.

  • Great job as usual Dom, love the heavy stuff. Thanks for sharing your awesome playing.

  • @robjking1 Thanks Rob!!

  • wow. great job here again. and fantastic postprod work on the drums. thank you!

  • I love it ! I'm a huge Metallica fan and you did a great job here :)

  • great vid dom!

  • Another awesome cover Domenic! It was great to hear just your drumming with the use of a drumless track - sounded great! Loved the reverb at about 3:30 on the floor toms - really added depth. Great camera angles and production as we have come to expect from your fine work!

  • @FL50DRUMR Thanks ED...I was actually thinking of not posting this one because I wasn't happy with the cut scenes. in some cases it looks out of sync with the sound. I had quite a few problems with this one actually. Maybe because it was a drumless track?? Oh well...I had a few requests for this one so i thought, "what the hell."

    Dom

  • @gallupi1965 I think the multiple camera angles really add to the production, even if it gets a little out of sync - as long as it is not overly out of sync, it is well worth it. I can see where not having the original sound track to cut to can be challenging. Did you try bringing over the entire 2nd camera angle clip as a cutout, and sync it to the original, then split and remove the pieces you didn't want? I found that to be a lot easier than bringing over individual clips and syncing each.
