they mentioned bernard of ottawa in the credits there he was also on the closing credits of you can't do that on television which was filmed in ottawa but manly a nickelodeon show here in america...
@Netstryke i saw the video of their fall plug on their website--there's gonna be some sort of updated version of that classic CHCH signature tune, too. :)
Hell, i wish there was individuality. Every station in every city looks the exact same. i live in Winnipeg - and we have CTV, Global, CITY, CBC. When I visited Edmonton...same thing. They didn't have numbers, it was all generic. I envy the USA - their stations still use their numbers and whatever else.
I'm glad to see newcomers to TV, maybe all the stations slated for closure won't shut down.
@Retrontario well, a year after this last exchange, CHCH finally took pride in their legacy. took them (channel zero) a while, but it's good they did anyway. :)
I don't see the flower logo coming back, mainly because the station has more than just the channel 11 transmitter. Canada seems to be anti-channel number anyway, unless it's cable.
Of course, I hope they prove me wrong! I'm sure the station still owns the logo and maybe the jingle too.

I hope that with the new 80's-ish logo and look that's coming to CHCH that they bring back the theme tune with it.

CFAC in Calgary had the same jingle and logo in the early 80's. It became Global in 1999.

The station was clearly still using telecine to show Hawaii Five-0, as evidenced by the jittering film.

I can't wait to see what Channel Zero does with CHCH once they officially buy the channel from Canwest.

oh, yeah, that'll be exciting...hopefully they make it a totally independent, totally local station again...
and how about that flower logo, perhaps, as a throwback (once channel zero completes the sale)? :)

THAT would be the coolest thing ever. I wish stations took more pride in their legacy.... even just once and awhile!

yeah...apparently, the "big 3" (CBC, global and CTV) can't (and maybe won't) do that anymore...

@FRproductionsinc
Norm MacDonald was a newscaster and announcer for CHCH 11 for many many years. Not the same Norm MacDonald that appeared on SNL.

@pilgrimomega
Norm Marshall? :)
The Frank Stallone was a thing Macdonald would say on SNL :)
