The lyrics in Umbug are certainly much more credible as far as literary merit goes. It's much better. But the content is difficult to relate to, especially because he keeps piling on metaphor after metaphor.

So while the writing's better, it's obscure as shit and less personable than they used to be, you know? I could relate to the songs on "Whatever People Say I Am..." way easier than "Humbug".
