I had friends who had to flee the war and study in Istanbul(there was a Croat girl Nina also in our university). A friend of mine had a doctor mom, she several times came to IStanbul from Sarajevo. She had to go inside the tunnels to get out and get back. I also know TUrkish Bosnians, they still maintain their Bosnak identity in Turkey, still make magnificent sogan dolma :)

Because there was no choice. At the moment that Turkey came in war with Rusia and that the people of Bosnia were strong enough to free Bosnia of Turkish rule the did it. What could we do with 500.000 Bosniaks (of all religions) against the worlds biggest power? We could only obey. At the moment in history that we got the choice and when we felt that we got a chance to beat them we did it. Even then we lost and 10.000 Bosniaks were killed only at the battle of Sarajevo against the Sultan.
10.000 figure is quite exagrated. YOu have to recognize the fact that Kaptanovic's rebellion didnot happen because of nationalism of Bosnaks. That did occur because of the collapsing Ottoman state. There were similar rebellion within TUrkey as well.

I was part of Zamir network during the war, and part of an organization that's supplying aid to Bosnian civils of war. I had a chance to meet Bosnians, Croats and Serbs of Zenitsa. They were doing really fine togather, why should any sane person try to break this friendship between them? But this doesnt mean that Turks and Bosnaks have special and emotional attachment to each other. I would realy want to meet such Bosnians who *hate* Turks as you do :)

Svjestan sam ja to itekako. Ja nikada ne mogu postati nesto drugo nego Bosanac ali za mene bi ovo bilo ponizenje da se ovako ponasam. Ovako ja mogu samo navijati kad BiH pobjedi. Sto se tice toga sta nam je Turska donjela, pa i nije nista posebno osim ogromnih problema. I Rimljani i Austro-Ugari su nam donjeli sto sta, pa jeli sada trebamo da masemo Talijanskim, Austrijskim i Madarskim zastavama po Bosni?
Svi smo mi svjesni sta se desilo u proteklom ratu ali nema smisla da jos vise bacamo ulje na vatru. Svako normalan ko ima imalo mozga u glavi i ko misli dobro BIH nikada joj nebi priredio ovako nesta. Uostalom zar nije bilo Hrvata i Srba odnosno katolika i pravoslavaca u Armiji BIH? Because a big part of the Bosnians or Bosnian muslims think that the turks were occupiers. These people that we see here are primitiv uneducated people mainly refugees from The sandjak. Croatians and Serbs formed 35% of our Bosnian army till summer of 1993. The head of our special forces was a Croat. Two of our members of the general staff were cristians. When Alija Izetbegovic decided to Islamise our army a lot of Bosnians were disspointed. Fact is that we are not united. We got these Bosnians which see Turks as Brothers from the sandjak and from the Bosnian province and we got Bosnians which believe in a multi ethnic Bosnia.

There is a difference between Bosnians- christians which fought on our side and the cetniks and ustahas. In the beginning of the war our army was multi religius. These people liked Bosnia and they died for Bosnia. In the summer of 93. Alija Izetbegovic decided to leave the idea of free Bosnia because he tought it was not possible to free whole Bosnia.
When he leaved this idea he islamised the army. The christians (which were very loyal to Bosnia and the muslims which wanted a free and multi ethnic Bosnia) were driven out of the top of our army. In place of them some other generals came to defend Bosnia. This was the point in history that Izetbegovich betrayed his own people.
Now we got a nation on 25% of the territory of Bosnia. The rest of Bosnia is under control of Serbians and Croatians. If the west now say that these territories can be part of Serbia and croatia we will haveno arguments to prevent this because we Bosnians also betrayed this idea of a multi ethnic Bosnia.

Deniz, I think you are on drugs or something. BOsnian commander was of Serb origin not Croat. Sanjak Bosnaks mixed with Avshar Turks since 1600s thats true, but Bosnaks are no different in that sense. Turks are parents for Bosnians, Croats for Bosnian Croats and Serbs for Bosnian Serbs, thats unfortunute but truth. We need 2 more generations to settle down in a common Bosnian identity, wea re also for multi ethnicity, but we'll definetly make sure that no Bosnak ever get hurt again

My perception of Bosnians from Bosnians of former Yugo. I also know Bihac(ABdic's) as well, true disaster. I had friends who had to flee the war and study in Istanbul(there was a Croat girl Nina also in our university). A friend of mine had a doctor mom, she several times came to IStanbul from Sarajevo. She had to go inside the tunnels to get out and get back. I also know TUrkish Bosnians, they still maintain their Bosnak identity in Turkey, still make magnificent sogan dolma :)

Because there was no choice. At the moment that Turkey came in war with Rusia and that the people of Bosnia were strong enough to free Bosnia of Turkish rule the did it. What could we do with 500.000 Bosniaks (of all religions) against the worlds biggest power? We could only obey. At the moment in history that we got the choice and when we felt that we got a chance to beat them we did it. Even then we lost and 10.000 Bosniaks were killed only at the battle of Sarajevo against the Sultan.

10.000 figure is quite exagrated. YOu have to recognize the fact that Kaptanovic's rebellion didnot happen because of nationalism of Bosnaks. That did occur because of the collapsing Ottoman state. There were similar rebellion within TUrkey as well.

Kaptanovic was too short sighted to say those words. Albanians did the same, what happened after taht? Tirana was flowing iwth ALbanina blood in 1913. I was part of Zamir network during the war, and part of an organization that's supplying aid to Bosnian civils of war. I had a chance to meet Bosnians, Croats and Serbs of Zenitsa. They were doing really fine togather, why should any sane person try to break this friendship between them? But this doesnt mean that Turks and Bosnaks have special and emotional attachment to each other. I would realy want to meet such Bosnians who *hate* Turks as you do :)

Svjestan sam ja to itekako. Ja nikada ne mogu postati nesto drugo nego Bosanac ali za mene bi ovo bilo ponizenje da se ovako ponasam. Ovako ja mogu samo navijati kad BiH pobjedi. Ja tebe potpuno razumijem. Sigurno se ne osjecas ugodno u ovom svemu. Moras shvatiti da su ovo vecinom Sandzaklije i pravi Turci koji ovdje navijaju zajdeno sa onim najneskolovanijim Bosancima. Ja sam skolovan Bosanac sa jedne i druge strane Atlantika i vidim Denize da podcjenjivas odredjene ljude. Treba da si svjestan donedavne okupacije i agresije koja je razrusila nasu zemlju i narode. Ali ti je izgleda to nevazno. Turska je donjela infrastrukturu i znanje podjelila sa osvojenim narodom, dok ovi slave sa sahovnicama i kokardama u nasim gradovima. Nobody claims Bosna is Osmanli. You must be total retard for saying this. We recognize and actually do support the multi-ethnic and multi-religous structure. Thats the only way to go for Bosna. Croatians and Serbs formed 35% of our Bosnian army till summer of 1993. The head of our special forces was a Croat. Two of our members of the general staff were cristians. When Alija Izetbegovic decided to Islamise our army a lot of Bosnians were disspointed. Fact is that we are not united. We got these Bosnians which see Turks as Brothers from the sandjak and from the Bosnian province and we got Bosnians which believe in a multi ethnic Bosnia.

There is a difference between Bosnians- christians which fought on our side and the cetniks and ustahas. In the beginning of the war our army was multi religius. These people liked Bosnia and they died for Bosnia. In the summer of 93. Alija Izetbegovic decided to leave the idea of free Bosnia because he tought it was not possible to free whole Bosnia.

When he leaved this idea he islamised the army. The christians (which were very loyal to Bosnia and the muslims which wanted a free and multi ethnic Bosnia) were driven out of the top of our army. In place of them some other generals came to defend Bosnia. This was the point in history that Izetbegovich betrayed his own people.

I believe in multi-ethnic Bosnia only underislamic rule, because Islam is the only who grant our rights and the rights of serbs and corats too, we showd it 500 years along.

Deniz, I think you are on drugs or something. BOsnian commander was of Serb origin not Croat. Sanjak Bosnaks mixed with Avshar Turks since 1600s thats true, but Bosnaks are no different in that sense. Turks are parents for Bosnians, Croats for Bosnian Croats and Serbs for Bosnian Serbs, thats unfortunute but truth. We need 2 more generations to settle down in a common Bosnian identity, wea re also for multi ethnicity, but we'll definetly make sure that no Bosnak ever get hurt again

The Bosnian General staf was formed of Stjepan Siber (Christain Bosnian) Jovan Divjak(Orthodox Bosnian- thats what he cals himself) and Sefer Halilovic (muslim) The commander of the special units: Dragan Vikic (croat). All our most respect historicans but also the less respected always write that Husein Kapetan represented the will of Bosnian (All Bosniaks also the christian Bosniaks because that is what the called themeselves in that time- Bosniaks. Every real Bosnian from Sarajevo, Tuzla, Zenica. Every Bosnian originating from Bosnian would hit you in your face if you would say to him that the turks are parents of Bosnians. We are a other people. Slavic, other language, other customs, other skin colout. We are europeans you are mainly not. I respect turks but please respect us to and respect our identity. Do you know what our flag is? Do you know what this flag means? Do you know what our soldiers weared on their uniform?

I have read it all. I eaven read all the books of profesor Muhamed Filipovic. It's true. He wanted autonomy for Bosnia and 10.000 man died at the gates of Sarajevo for an independent Bosnia. All Bosnians know him because the fact that he fought against the turks.

Husein Beg Gradascevic never fought to be an opponent, he fought because the Sultan was not granting muslim interests towards the europeans as he shuold do. So he fought for the interest of Ottoman empire, for the whole muslim world. Go and learn history man, and dont take myths from those infected with nacionalism and "kotromanjic-bosnia".

Mi ce mo vas poBosanciti i deTurcizirati druge nam nema. Nece Bosna biti Turska drzava. Ljubit ce te vi za koju godinu zastavu kotromanica i biti svjesni svojih korijena. Pa kako to da nije kada svi nasi ittoricari tvrde da jeste i kada je zapisano u arhivama boj kod Sarajeva gdje je izginulo 10.000 Bosnjaka na ulazu u Sarjevu kada su se potukli sa Turskom vojskom? Kako nije bio protiv Turaka kada je zabiljzeno da je njegova vojska Turke 2 godine drzala na branicama kosova? Kkao se nije borio protiv Turaka kada svaki Bosanac zna da je se borio? Deniz, Huseyin Kaptanovic never represented Bosnian will, first of all get this right. His rebellion was a brief one which could occur in any collapsing state. You can see us whatever you like, my great grand father is of Bosnian origin, like it or not I love Bosna. I had Serb and Hirvat friends here in US, I dont hate them just because who they are, but you are so pathetic to say these words for us.
