they are shocked my friend ..... I myself am a Madeiran and understand the language and they are not excited but shocked... it is just the way they speak .... you do not understand the culture that is why you think they sound excited ,,,,, it is pretty far from that .. believe me...
What's strange is the voices off-camera in the very first shot, and then at 1:30, sound like they're exclaiming with excitement and delight at what they're seeing - instead of being scared and concerned.
Terrible. My parents and my sister go on vacation there all the time. My sister and her boyfriend just came home from Madeira Sunday evening. My heart goes out to all those affected by this :(
