She was stunning on this night, and her book, By Myself, is one of the best celebrity memoirs ever. Unfortunately, she has become one of the nastiest women anywhere in her 'sunset years'. I know hair and makeup people who double their fees when they know they are going to have to work with someone so difficult. When she's in front of fans, she's lovely but behind the closed doors of her place in The Dakota it's another story entirely. It's too bad because she was so beautiful here.

they were elegant(unlike the walking klotzes today, eh kate winslet ring a bell?) and had personality, just so much more individuality, that's what i appreciate most!

What a treat to see Lauren Bacall so youthful and full of life. I hear these days she is in very poor health, of course she will be 85 this year. She had such a gorgeous figure, and love the hair!
