  • she's beautiful, i cant get over when she does that smile she reminds me of mick jagger lol

  • This is a real star! i hope the future famous people can become more classy like how it was long before i was born!

  • Christ, this was before Bogart kicked the bucket.

  • How likeable. How classy.

  • There have been more beautiful actresses than Bacall- but few sexier! And that is far more important on the screen and in real life!

  • I woship this goddess.

  • OMG! Lauren could give you the shivers just by her bodytalk.

  • small conference terribly sorry! lol!

  • I love how she gets when they ask about her husband. God what a love they must've shared.

  • Love Lauren Bacall. Still going strong! Great Lady.

  • The fifties was THE decade of short hair for women...got longer rin the 60's.

  • Lauren is a beauty, but she really looked better with her hair a little longer. Jackie Kennedy Onassis was the same, flattered more with longer hair around her face.

  • I couldn't wait to see how she would disguise her voice!!! Lol

  • Style, style, style strange how Hollywood has gone from that to ? can't really think of a suitable word to describe today's unfortunates.

  • Lauren Bacall has always been a class act. God Bless her! People in Hollywood should take example from her as she is a REAL WOMAN! Always has been and always will be. She is not the typical trash that comes out of Hollywood these days

  • @TheGreekMan1981

    "...typical trash..."

Oh the irony. Pearls before swine.

  • @lowenklee So am I lying? You don't think 90% of Hollywood is trash?

  • @TheGreekMan1981

The following sentiment you expressed is at issue:

"She is a real woman...not the typical trash that comes out of Hollywood these days"

That's a fairly vulgar remark , and given your advocation just prior...I say again, pearls before swine.

  • @lowenklee I WILL SAY IT AGAIN.... WHAT WE SEE IN HOLLYWOOD TODAY IS COMPLETE AND UTTER GARBAGE! NO FALLACY ABOUT IT.

  • One classy dame here guys; oooh, just love her innocent looks...

  • @joanfontainefan Lauren "Becall"?

  • Devastating is an understatement.

  • She's so adorable!

  • I LOVE HER!!!! Amazing person, amazing heart. TRUE STAR!

  • *Bacall !!!

  • how gorgeous! :-)

  • Howard Hawks is often praised for creating her sultry image but she may have had greater success in the kittenish style she showed here. I was amazed how charming and girlish she appeared, nothing like her star image roles. I never like that husky-voiced pose in her films; always struck me as ludicrous, Offhand I don't recall her ever smiling to show her teeth in the wonderful way she did on this show. I really think Hawks made a mistake confining her to that single-dimension sultry image.

  • Lauren is ll poise and class.

  • Beutiful woman

  • Shame she didn't age well-all those cigarettes, booze and sun.At least we know!

  • @OldHollywoodMovies "oui" not "wee"

  • That is one beautiful woman, wall to wall sex appeal!

  • Wow, you can you just see how twitterpated she got just thinking of Bogey? What a couple!

  • i wonder was there ever a time when the panel couldnt guess?? dang why dont they bring this back

  • 1:40 DOWN, BOY

  • that's one gorgeous girl !

  • 2:31 her voiceeee!!! OH MY GOD!!

  • If ever YouTube needed a whistle comment button this would be it ... Becall is simply stunning!

  • @3:19 - i've never seen a woman say 'no' so sexy in all my life

  • @Robi2000sBatteredEx are you mental?

  • joanf- she writes her name on the board friend. Read it and spell it like she does in your title

  • I love the dress Lauren Bacall wears in this clip. I am thrilled to see how beautiful she was in her youth. And I am also glad to realize she, an octogenarian, still keeps appearing in motion pictures. She is a very good model for the future generations of

actresses in Hollywood. Her class remains exactly the same as it did decades ago.

  • Thank you joanfontaine fan for posting these up - they are fantastic!

  • simply a killer!

  • Quelle belle voix ! quel charme !

  • The women then knew how to seduce and flirt without ever becoming vulgar. That is the true idea of enjoying one's femininity. I keep admiring the STARS of those days because those were TRUE STARS in every sense of the word. Today's entertainment world is filled with talentless trash that is vulgar and revolting to me.

  • @gal80s I feel the same way. You and I have become old man grumpus.

  • @acr08807 You may be right! Cheers!

  • @gal80s I'm sure the generation before said the same about the stars of the 50s. And this generation will be comparing the next to the Meryl Streeps, Nicole Kidmans, Kate Winslets, Marion Cotillards, Julianne Moores, Michelle Williams (etc) of today. That's is just how time evolves and nostalgia makes us value the past over what we have.

  • @ilovetati91 i agree :)

  • funny stuff!

  • She is so flirty and sexy.

  • damn.................smokin' hot!!!!!!!

  • That husky voice gave her away.

  • They did mention Bogie

  • Love her.

  • 3:37 I came

  • the host is a playa

  • Happy 86th birthday to the legendary Ms. Bacall! :)

  • I wish we could have seen Dorothy Kilgallen at 2:31

  • wow I'm in love

  • she reeks of sexiness and playfulness. She's so sweet, and I see why she was attracted to Bogart,he had those rough,"real man" edges.

  • Again with the spelling... B A C A L L...Lauren Bacall. Good grief!

  • Wow! a great deal of class.. without being too obvious and delightful instead!! Class .. pure class!

  • You know , everyone is entitled to their opinions, but if fans here of the show are having a good time watching these old video clips, then why waste time on here posting negative comments? If you don't like it then go some place else to vent your dislikes. I mean really....either haters want attention or have nothing better to do. These are classic and fun, so if you don't like them then don't say anything and just move on. Just enjoy them!

  • I love the way John say 'Oh yeah' when they asked if she were a glamour girl =P

  • I wonder how LB would react if someone burglered her apt in NY. Let's see her "talk" her way out of that. I always turn the channel when I see her on any interview show.

  • @FaganRoberts hard to believe you have these middle aged beliefs and views!

  • @jeminiany222 It's difficult to understand many things when you are young and naive.

  • She was stunning

  • She's so beautiful, one look at her would stop a man dead in his tracks.....*checks pulse to see if he's still alive*

  • She had class !!

  • She is working that dress, she looks soooo beautiful! She was so sexy in a classy way. The thing about girls like Lauren is that she might not look like Liz Taylor but she has the confidence to work with what she's got. And that made her 100 times more attractive.

  • her voice is amazing!!!!

  • I love her, she's wonderful :)

  • she's so feisty! Love it!

  • i love how the men stand for her when she comes over and greets the panel! signs of a time LONG gone

  • @schnellschnell I like that as well. Men stand and open doors for women.

  • beautiful

  • @TheBlueyedblond Lauren is 85 years old if not more! No plastic surgery to my knowledge either. She looks fine to me.

  • wow, She's gorgeous. I forgot.

  • What a great lady! First class all the way

  • What a woman!!

  • Oh, I am so fascinated by her! I have been a fan since I was a child (I'm 37).

John Daly had waaaaaaaaaaaaay too much fun that night! LOLOLOL I've never seen him so playful in any other shows!

  • @pepsibookcat Yes, he was enjoying those conferences with Lauren.

  • she's still in the game after all these years.

keep doing what you do best!

  • great autobiography ..great girl ever

  • She and Bogie were such a great couple. She lost him far too soon.

  • Please check the title, is Lauren Bacall not Becall...

  • Now that is one beautiful lady!

  • i love how elegant and classy she looks when she brushes her hair back

    just lovely :)

  • Unique beauty

  • What fun the audience must have had watching Lauren and John's onscreen chemistry! I wonder if the panel is able to see the broadcast after it's been televised? Surely they must wonder behind their blindfolds what the audience can see that they cannot! The mystery element of this show works on so many levels--a real delight!

  • haha. i like how he's trying to contain his excitement when he says "small conference, awfully sorry" lolll

  • I was named Lauren after her :)

  • I bet a lot of girls were--pretty name

  • @oOZePirateOo

All Laurens were named after her.

    Do you look like her?

  • @schusterlehrling Great point....she poularized the name.

  • Never underestimate beautiful shoulders--women don't!

Arlene Francis also has beautiful shoulders.

  • Did you here that weird scream at 0:16?

Is Lauren laughing at that as she's taking her seat?

  • The host likes her.

  • @MrAlexKeaton He does. She had a unique beauty.

  • How can someone's smile, eyes and shoulder be so sexy.

  • easy, if you are Lauren Bacall

  • Sexiest shoulders EVER.

Hahaha and a very attractive voice.

Lets face it, the woman is gorgeous.

  • Cute, adorable, charming, delightful, and enchanting!

  • Couldn'y agree with you more!

  • she is so stunning!

  • so charming she is!

  • Looks like John really enjoyed those "small conferences"!

  • I bet he did :P

  • Just a gorgeous woman, love Lauren!

  • Look at those MOVEMENTS!!

    And those eyes...

    Like a CAT!

    And that seXXXy voice....

    She is GORGEOUS!!!!

  • god she was such a dame!

  • I love chicks with shoulders like that

  • gotta love bacall

  • Lauren Bacall was a stunner and she was especially beautiful on this night. Not to mention obviously having a good time. John was also loving it! And who could blame him!

  • Lauren Bacall and Ava Gardner, two tough broads and two classy dames !

But unlike today's skanks, they weren't vulgar, they were gracious, demure and ladylike. A bygone era.

  • @Gage1960 Exactly right. Lots of intelligence in those eyes. True sexiness comes from intelligence and restraint. And the promise of things to come.!

  • @Gage1960 Hey,no offence but Ms.Gardner could be relly quite "unclassy" and "un-ladylike" in her spare time. But I liked her, though.

  • @Gage1960

    classy dames?

they may have been classy on screen

    but what about off screen?

people are just very biased i believe

they were elegant(unlike the walking klotzes today, eh kate winslet ring a bell?) and had personality, just so much more individuality, that's what i appreciate most!

  • @Gage1960 I completely agree!

  • 0:32 is the most adorable thing i've ever seen!

I love Lauren Bacall! A fantastic talent and an incredibly beautiful woman!

  • I think this episode is from November 8, 1953. I Love Lauren Bacall, she is a great actress!!!

  • Bogie had excellent taste in women!

  • I LOVE her biography!

  • What a treat to see Lauren Bacall so youthful and full of life. I hear these days she is in very poor health, of course she will be 85 this year. She had such a gorgeous figure, and love the hair!

  • She's still acting and has three new films coming out. You call that in poor health?

  • Dorothy's wonderful on here, but when I heard about that I couldn't believe how low it was! It made me not like her for a while! There's journalism, then there's prying.

  • She is a beautiful woman. Love the dress.

  • ive had a crush on her since i was a boy...and i am gay.

  • Gay men have such great taste

  • why thank you sir or madam. :D

  • I've said it before, you guy's have such great taste--always.

  • ms. bacall is so beautiful!

  • Lauren was so adorable and unique.

I love to see her talking about Bogie and vice-versa

  • Referring to Bogart, he has a mean.....what? Thanks.

  • A mean right, I think, meaning a punch.

Hilarious! Shows Daly off at his funniest, too.

  • Ms. Bacall several years ago. It was an excellent read.

  • Get a room! :)

  • Wow she was sexy - love the little shoulder shake she does as she answers the first couple of questions.

  • Maybe some guy wanted to play along with the panel, but got curious and opened his eyes as the cheering went down, so his lone gasp of Oh! is heard.

  • I love the "Oui, Madame" Ms. Bacall gives Ms. Francis at 3:28. Just lovely.

  • "Are you over 21?"

    "Oui mMnsieur"

    "You'll do!" Lol!!
