@MrChikki Me, the troll? Obviously you just aren't smart enough to understand. Birds have no hair/fur, the closest thing they have are rictal bristles, which are hairlike FEATHERS that occur mostly around the base of the bill, nostrils and eyes. Young birds and chicks also downy FEATHERS. Scientists in the past have traced the development of such bristles and down to that of feathers and they are not to be confused with the hair of mammals.
Well I wouldn't handle him before because he can get stressed and not take the fuzzie. And When he eats wait untill he swallows it and when it gets to the fattest part of their body and the snake starts to move his body get him out of the feeding bin and put him in his cage. Give him 24 hours after feeding then handle him. Sorry I forgot to right feed in another bin! :)
im getting a baby ball python in a couple days and i was wondering....if im feeding it in a separate container...when would it be safe to move it back to its original tank? also, when can i handle him again? i hear its 48 hours but by the looks of what i just saw....it shouldnt take them long to get the mouse to the digestive area no? please reply! thanks
@JohnnyDeSimone93 Put it in his cage when he finishes the mouse and starts to move. And start to handle him after 24 hours. And don't handle him about three hours before feeding.
@01skillet I hear its horrible to feed him in his tank because he could get bedding in his system, ive been feeding him for the past month or so and he has no problems being handled to be put back in his normal tank after feeding (20 minutes or so of a wait) and he has no problem being held before feeding, he even lets me help him feed him the fuzzie by putting the tongs in there as leverage against the fuzzie lol (he isnt quite use to them yet even though he can handle them)
@Skaterman1408 It really depends on how tame the snake is. I can pick my up ball safely within hours of digestion. it isn't recommended though, as it could disrupt digestion.
@beermchoff some snakes refuse to eat f/t mice (my ball python does) and life is better for the snake when they r frozen they lose some of thier nutriance
not all Ball pythons eat dead. Luckily My ball python eats both. But Ive seen some VERY picky ball pythons. Some only eat live, some only eat prekilled
@Musicheadify excitement .. laughin at somethin dying is pretty sad .. if thats the sort of thing you do you need to get out of your house .. not cool
it would be cruel If i DIDNT feed my snake. Even if I fed frozen the mouse was alive at some point. I never laugh its just cool to watch the way the snake stalks, strikes and swallowes what it caught.

@Musicheadify alright but dont film the thing and find enjoyment our of it .. thats sick
beermchoff 2 years ago
Its not sick. If it wasnt filmed it still happened anyway. Some people are not allowed to have snakes and dont get to see the excitement of feeding.

can i handle my snake after he has been fed
callumreganebrown 2 years ago
this is a dumb question but does feeding snakes live feeder mouse increase the chance of it getting mites?
niggabartlebee 2 years ago
yes it possibly could increase that chance since if you were feeding frozen it would probably kill what mites could be present.
