  • im 13 years old and just listening to these songs and seeing the videos and pictures of jesus and what he went through makes me cry ! God bless you all <3

  • DemianHermann... you are right Jesus didnt sacrifice himself for our sins.. (BUT) God did sacrifice his son Jesus Christ so that we would be forgiven for our sins... The punishment for sins is we die but the gift (Jesus) is we will live again... if we except this gift (Jesus) that God gave us....

  • that is amazing Jesus is amazing!

  • I love the video!! I love the song!! I love You! The greatest love of all!

  • Jesus did not sacrifice himself for our sins. He died for the truth, which people cared so little about that they killed him for it. It is no different today, Christians just believe in myths and are emotionally attached to an imagined image of Jesus. People are too afraid to face reality, and would rather like to believe that there is an invisible man ready to save them than to acknowledge that they are the only ones that can change themselves and this world. Go to Truth Contest (dot) com

  • nice.. love it..

  • Gloria Para Nuestro Senor Jesus

  • Glory and honour due your Victorious and Triumphant and Loving Name, Jesus Christ my LORD.

    grace

  • "This is an amazing song for Our Lord and Savior, Jesus! This song pulls at my heart for him." :)

  • X-tian cruci-fiction really means also the death of the age of Aries (Moses religion), with the Precession of the Equinoxes' it's now Pisces the Fish at the spring equinox, X-tianity loves fish symbols. After the cruci-fiction every year, spring blooms (nature resurrection). Moses religion did away with the Taurian age (bull symbolism & once again based on the zodic sign at the spring equinox). Jesus speaks parables & new testament is a parable for those that have eyes to see & ears to hear.

  • Christianity is a Dionysian religion cleaned up. Dion=God (from Eurasian"Tian=Heaven,Sky,God") Ysus=Isus=Jesus. Dionysus, Tammuz, Dummuzi religion had bread & wine, crosses etc. r identical, crucify & resurrect. The real cruci-fiction is Aries/the Lamb is crucified on the cross of the Zodiac in between the full moon & Equinox. The cross in Greek is STUR for Star, where the diety ISHTAR (who was resurrected by her father EA) comes from also the word easter. ALL MEAN ONE & THE SAME THING.

  • Everything in modern X-tianity is incorrect. The Virgin Birth never happened literally either. Mary was a virgin, Joseph had sex with her before marriage & wanted to "hide" her or "put her away". The ancestry listed is of Joseph's & proof of real sex with Mary. The stories have many 'figures of speech' that ppl take literally & turn into a stupid foolish meanings, completely unrealistic from facts of life & historical reality.

  • Jesus NEVER LITERALLY DIED ON THE CROSS: The oldest versions of the New Testament said @ Jesus before the crowd the Crowd let BARABBAS GO, The name was originally JESUS BAR ABBAS which mean Bar=Son, Abba=Father "Jesus Son of the Father" was let go. Jesus in Christianity is known as "The Son of the Father". They dropped the name Jesus from BarAbbas bcus it either confused later scribe copyists or deliberately hide the meaning for a new interpretation of the stories.

  • If Jesus and God are the same person, then who was Jesus sacrificing his life to? My mom says it was to God, but why would Jesus sacrifice his own life to (not for) himself? This has confused me for a long time. Also, what if (on Easter Sunday) the women visiting Jesus grave saw the spirit of Jesus, not his actual body. Ashes to ashes....it's his soul they didn't destroy, not the vessel, his body. Jesus proved they couldn't kill him.

  • @PheremoneJ What happened, was he replaced us. We were the ones that should have died, but Jesus did it for us. The wages of sin is death, but the gift of god is eternal life. The people visiting the tomb did see jesus's body. His body was resurrected on the 3rd day. He used it to prove himself. He showed thomas the nail scars and the spear hole that were still in him.

  • @MnSPictures i get that. what confuses me is that God made up these rules. Satan tempted Adam and Eve, they fell for it, and now we are born with original sin, which i don't think is our fault. I get the "sacrificial lamb" thing, i just can't see why God has all of us to go thru with all the killing, lying and everything else that goes along with being human. I'm trying to find the logic in all of this.

  • @PheremoneJ well, god wants creation to show perfect love to him. How can that be possible without an alternative? He made it simple for adam and eve. Dont eat from one tree. A simple thing not to do, yet still causing them to have to choose god instead of just ending up stuck with him. They got tricked into going against god's wishes. The wages of sin is death. A perfect god must have perfect justice, therefore cannot let anything go un answered for.

  • @MnSPictures so was it the act of disobeying God the problem or was it eating from the Tree of Knowledge? Eve was curious just like most humans are. If we are curious, then we seek to find answers to things. what was it that He didn't want us to know? Was being born into sin, like us, the price of knowledge or one simple act of disobeying? I'm a believer in God and will always be one so I'm always going to be curious and will seek the answers only God can give me.

  • @PheremoneJ A little of both. It wasnt that eve was curious, it was that satan was resentful toward them and tricked her into believeing nothing would happen if she ate from it. Sin is disobedience to god. And through that tree we arent ignorant of what right and wrong is, therefore we are accountable for it. God knew this would happen but it would be unfair if he didnt give us a chance..

  • @PheremoneJ So now that we arent ignorant of right and wrong, god had to issue the law to us. Us being in such a fallen state we arent able to keep it, so he did the only thing that would allow him to be perfectly just, and justify us. He became a man, never sinned, died, then went to hell and preached to those captive there before he died and all who heard him were set free.

  • @PheremoneJ It wasnt the act of being curious that was the problem. The problem was that God said "ALL the fruit of the trees you may eat but this tree is mine do not eat. In the day you eat YOU WILL DIE". It was a command in fact the first command issued to humans. Satan twisted God's words to lure Eve into eatting. Now notice it says through one man Adam sin entered the world and sin through death. Why not Eve? Because Adam never questioned Eve and ate. He did not fall into temptation like Ev

  • @KirkDem i understand that really. But these were God's newest creations...children in a way, and children need to be taught, they need to mess up and learn from their mistakes, like our parents teach us. I have a problem with the repercussions that this simple act of disobeying has created for the rest of us. wars, torture, genocide...all stemming from disobeying God for eating a fruit from a tree. I don't buy that and there has to be more to it. THERE HAS TO BE A LOT MORE TO IT.

  • @PheremoneJ Adam was sinless when he was created because he was a direct creation of god. We are sons of adam. Therefore we are born into sin. Do you know anyone that has never sinned in their life? There is none except Jesus who was god. Sin has a curse. There really is a scientific term for what sin brought. Entropy. Through entropy all things will eventually run down. and as the bible says "wear out like an old garment" Through Christ all things are made new.

  • u are open to communicate w/me, can u honestly say u have given God the same opportunity. Think about it.

  • @Godbtheglory1 WHO IS OUR GOD? Is Jesus a GOD? who is He? Did He who created this universe? Did He say that He will save us from Hellfire? Did He say choose Christian as our religion? Did He name our religion Christian? pls tell me the answer with a basis, i wanna know...tnx

  • @gomercataan First of all it is not abut religion. It is about a belief in the God the one who created heaven and earth. And Yes he will save us from Hellfire if we accept Jesus Christ as our personal savior. And He did not name religion Christian. this is what the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus Christ is all about .Amen.

  • idkwhenidie you're right my friend. If you want to believe ancient myths and let your life be controlled by it, then be my guest. There is no evidence to back up their beliefs.

  • Why couldn't GOD just forgive? Why did he have to make a blood sacrifice?

  • @idkwhenidie maybe because He gave and gave, and never once did he receive. Sure, God is generous, God is loving, God is our Father...but hey, we should feel grateful to Him. The people in His time weren't...so...yah, I think that's why.

  • @luckylyra827 WHAT? how does this justify slaughtering a human being. If God wanted to he could of just revealed himself to every one and said you are forgiven! But NO he had to come in human form and only tell a small number of people in an isolated region of the world.

You don't have to keep making excuses for your religion. Just admit it, IT DOESN'T MAKES SENSE!

  • @idkwhenidie oh, I get it. You're an atheist. <--duh for me XD Well, I'm not making excuses. It's just the way we Christians see it. And I'm not expecting you to understand, or even try to, because hey, you're an atheist. You people throw the things that we tell you, or share to you, back at us with a very good reasoning like, "IT'S NONSENSE!" or "IT'S JUST RIDICULOUS!".. so, yah. That's just about it.

  • @luckylyra827 This isn't an argument against the existence of god. It is only to point of that if that such god does exist, he is not the all caring god that he calms to be. Or at least he doesn't care a great deal about whether of not people believe in him. If so he would have had a better way of revealing himself to mankind like the way I previously mentioned.

  • @idkwhenidie eh?so..you're not an atheist, or are you? sorry, I can't process many things today. Well, He does care. And about the revealing thing..perhaps, he's an anti-matter? Just kidding -Lord, forgive me-..read the Bible. Surely, His reason is there. And I think that He doesn't reveal Himself because of Adam and Eve's sins. They were the first children, and they saw Him.But then, they disobeyed Him and He was cast to total depression or something like that. It's beyond me. I'm just a teen.

  • @idkwhenidie it does too make sense. The world had become sinful, so He came down as human to sacrifice Himself for us so we could go to Heaven. If He didn't, we wouldn't be free, we wouldn't know how much He loved us, until Jesus came and DIED for us. If you don't get that, then I'm sorry you feel this way.

  • @tigerbuddy101 You're the one who doesn't understand! God didn't HAVE to kill himself (Jesus) to forgive! Why does god have this sick fascination with blood and sacrifice? You tell me why god didn't and still doesn't reveal himself to people? The only time someone says they've talked to god, is when they are alone and unable to confirm what he said. =====> continue

  • @idkwhenidie god is perfect, therefore he must be perfectly just. and execute perfect judgment. for god to be just, he would have to either send the whole world to hell, or do what he did, accept the judgment upon himself. It is like a murder trial. You are found guilty beyond any doubt. There is no way a judge could get away with letting you go. So you are waiting to be executed, and the judge steps down and is executed for you.

  • @MnSPictures You sir have sacrificed your humanity, if you believe that 'god' is being 'perfectly' just. There is nothing 'JUST' about torturing anybody for anything for eternity. Especially if that thing is not loving you back.

My question is how can you think that it is just that a person, like myself, who is a descent, kind human being should be tortured in hell for ever.

If you don't then why do you worship a being that would do that.

  • @idkwhenidie Jesus spend his only son as the last sacrificial lamb for the world. So, he said here is my son. Whoever believe in this sacrifice shall have everlasting life. IF you had an only son and u gave him to the world and said the same and your son was put through so much suffering. would u accept people into your house that dishonored that sacrifice. I wouldn't . And is that simple.

  • @Godbtheglory1 Why does god need to kill this only son to save us from our sin? Why can't god just forgive without putting 'his son' through torture.

  • @idkwhenidie The very character of God is Just. The only one that was qualifies that could take the place of men was the J,C. because the very nature of Jesus was sinless, spotless no sin. U as a citizen of the US can u commit a murder and not see the judge. without a lawyer u would go straight to jail without any questions.Well Jesus played a role of a lawyer he sacrifice himself so he can plead for whoever believe in HIm should not perish but have everlasting life John 3:16.

  • @Godbtheglory1 WHY DID GOD HAVE TO KILL A PERSON TO FORGIVE?

  • @idkwhenidie In the old testament the system that God had established for the covering of sin was temporary by animal sacrifice.which means a death of an animal such as a lamb, sheep bird they had to be healthy and clean without blemish. The perfect sacrifice that God had in mind was his son. Because God is HOLY sin cannot dwell around him.We need to go back to the garden remember God gave Adam a command He said u can eat out of any tree but not this one then he gave him a warning. cont.

  • @idkwhenidie Please don;'t hesitate to ask me questions, so that u may better understand.

  • @Godbtheglory1 if u eat of this one u should surely die. When God was speaking to Adam about death he was speaking about the whole concept of death. which means spirituality when men in his natural nature does not have any concept of God. (When man has no concept of the true God that is).

  • @Godbtheglory1 do you find it strange that god chose to create a system where forgiveness is obtainable only by blood sacrifices? DON'T YOU THINK IT'S WEIRD THAT GOD LIKES THE SMELL OF FLEASH?

  • @idkwhenidie i'm sorry that u were not able to comprehend the message.

  • @Godbtheglory1 I'm sorry...I guess an all knowing, all powerful, all loving, being who wants me to know that he exists is having such trouble doing so. To bad he can't communicate as clearly as I am communicating with you.

  • @idkwhenidie bro who is our GOD?

  • @tigerbuddy101 =====> continue

Imagine this...there is no god. There is a tribe of people who have no understanding of the universe. They see something that they can't explain...religion is born.

  • @idkwhenidie To show the world how much He loved us. People back then BEAT and BRUISED and KILLED Him. But He died for us! Us. Now we know how much He loves us. And in the end, all who love Him, and believe in Him, will go to Heaven. A place that is real, with no pain, no tears, no weight of the world. Love, is filled in Heaven because Heaven is the Kingdom of God. You don't have to know everything to know that your loved. :)

  • @tigerbuddy101 That truly is nice way of thinking, it makes you feel good, it gives you hope, and it even helps comfort death for you. But how does that make it real? No matter how much you WISH something could be true, doesn't make it so. Tell me, if those who loved him go to heaven, where do those who don't love him or believe in him go?

  • Why couldn't GOD just forgive. Why did he have to make a blood sacrifice.

  • Great video!...Where's the clip from 2:14 from?

  • Religion is a psychological construct that, in the gaps and errors of our own psychological systems, we have pieced together mistakenly. Before you commit time (time from your Finite life) to a non-existent being, Thing about it. Why are you doing this, are you sure that you have good reason to? Good Reason Too?

  • I see, so it is better to waste precious time from this finite life to make sure people's life ends up meaning nothing. I'm appreciative, but it seems you have just taken the opposite avenue Jesus did - he took his time to make sure human life meant something. I'll take his road before yours!

  • Men we have hope!!!

Hope to live happy and not die!!

  • song??

  • Nice!

  • it's No Mystery - He Died for You and Me..

  • If someone sees something apparently involving a suspension of the laws of nature, like a resurrection or virgin birth, one must ask which is more likely: Have the laws of physics and nature really been suspended or am I under a misapprehension? If such a miracle is merely being reported in the Bible, filtered through dozens of charlatans and corrupt text over many years, anyone who says they think the resurrection is a historical fact is advertising a willingness to believe absolutely anything.

  • You're wise to not merely accept such an outrageous claim as the Resurrection. Yet the historical and personal aftershock---on the world---immediately & longterm is not limited to the Bible. Search for yourself. I don't think you will find "dozens of charlatans" etc. But test & search...Lee Strobel online is one place to look (A news reporter who offers up some evidences) Gary Habermas...even 19th century Simon Greenleaf (of Harvard U Law School fame)!!!

  • Indeed. The life of one who doesn't think Critically leads to the life of one who lives in a cage, full of shinies to keep them busy (And in the cage.)

  • Thank you so much lord for everything you have done.

  • Beautiful, enlightening, spiritually enriching video. Thanks - favorited / rated

  • YES I WILL !!!!

  • this song truly show us that JESUS CHRIST died for us and to give us the freedom from the bondage of sin to us before JESUS CHRIST came to give us salvation for free that's how God is good.

We are Albert Arnold Gore Jr & Sir Richard Branson & Jeff Bootstraps Fisher (Jeff has many names)

The world should all know about Jane Bowell & God & Jeff's love

  • We have not been thru anything like Christ went thru for us, it is because of his love that he endured the pain and suffering. And while he remained standing he stood until the end. He is still standing "Beyond the Crimson Cross" Great Video and song. Blessings from your Friend, Jim

  • To timestandingstill. Suffering for a few hours, dying, then coming to life again? Hmm, not a bad deal, I would say, Certainly a better deal than the fate of many people.

  • Suffering for few hours, but it wasnt normal suffering, being on that cross with millions of sins with whips going into his flesh, nails being belted through his bones and skin and muscle thorns sticking into is head and fate of Christians is not a bad deal aswel, we die we go to heaven, and to me and all other christians thats is all we need.

  • I love JESUS!!! I THANK GOD HE DIED FOR someone like me!

  • @mkdken AMEN !!!!!!!!

  • @mkdken Amen! Who am I that He should think of me? I stand amazed at how much the Lord God Almighty loves me that He would come in the person of Jesus Christ and lay down His life for a wretched sinner like me so that I could be set free from the prison of sin. May I always live a life worthy of the calling to which He has called me. I could never love Him enough or praise Him enough, but I will spend the rest of my days trying!

  • so whos the idiot who still think jews kill him ha?

  • 4th. Commandment, Exodus 20:8 "Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy". Old Testament punishment - Exodus 31:15 "Whosoever shall work in the Sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death". Numbers 15:32. "And while the children of Israel were in the wilderness, they found a man that gathered sticks upon the Sabbath day...And all the congregation brought him without the camp, and stoned him with stones, and he died; as the Lord commanded Moses."

  • god bless you day by day not only Sabbath day?? so you give thanks eveday?? or only the Sabbath day??

  • your point? The man that was killed ordered by God was killed as an offering to the Lord.

  • Dear one, it's gonna take a HUGE step of sheer faith, patience and keeping your heart open long enough to receive Him.

He died for you as much as He did for any other.

No man, no written word, nothing, on this earth needs to show you this for you to receive Him and realize He is real.

  • It's so simple .. salvation is a gift that was given by Christ for YOU.. whether you choose to accept is is up to you. But

"Would you take the place of this man? Would you take the nails from His hands?"

  • אני אוהב את ישו.

  • אני אוהב את ישו.

  • the Lord is to be praised for what He has done for us! thank you for the music video.

  • I deserve death for all my sins Lord. Yet you thought about me 2000 years before I came. That death that I deserve even now you took. I love you Lord Yeshua. Although most Jews dont accept you, Lord I still love them because out of them you blessed us. In this world full of death and hate you took it all away. Lord Yeshua I love you with all my heart.

  • yep

  • wats the name of the music

  • Just think if we could all feel the love that is with us all the time.

  • From this we know that Our lord Jesus lives and speaks.People worship God that were made by their own hands but we worship the god who made us

  • Only truth is worth believing. Only abundant life is worth living.

  • I'm a Pastor at Jervis Bay, South Coast, NSW , Australia. I'd like to show this video on Easter Sunday. How can I get a copy of it?

  • isquint software is free and lets you download youtube videos for Macs. There has to be a PC software similar.

  • Frome a Nazarene Jew: Go to google, and insert "Download Youtube Videos." There are plenty of online applications for this.

  • ummm try and get those projection thingys and a laptop, and enlarge it hope it works

  • I am a Christian.Evolution has several flaws, and Darwinists are too zealous to admit it.The Cambrian period was a sudden appearance of new organisms, but Darwin said evolution could only happen slowly. The cell theory: 'All cells are produced from other cells' makes no sense, since the cells appeared from nowhere, there had to be life from the very beginning.Scientists say that Birds evolved from dinosaurs, but there is no evidence.Science, done right, points toward God. Praise the Risen Lord!

  • Christians really enjoy feeling sorry for themselves, God must be sick and tired of the crying hypocrite children who never grew up and never evolved. Totally self-serving and self-righteous. Just because Christians misquote the Bible doesn't mean God agree with their Christian values: hypocrisy, hatred, bigotry, discrimination, a ban on interracial marriage, an oily war against the poors to get the rich richer, fake democracy, and an estrange hypocritical constitution denying the right to love.

  • You can tell that atheism is in trouble because it is becoming increasingly intolerant. In the past, atheists (or secular humanists or freethinkers) were often condescendingly tolerant of their less-enlightened fellow citizens. While they disdained religion, they treated their religious neighbors as good-hearted, if misguided. But now key activists are urging a less civil approach.

  • The tone of intolerance reached such a peak that anthropologist Melvin J. Konner commented: "The viewpoints have run the gamut from A to B. Should we bash religion with a crowbar or only with a baseball bat?" This newly aggressive mood (Dawkins calls religious education "brainwashing" and "child abuse") is in danger of undermining civil society

  • Attitude Im glad you believe in God your only and truthful Father.

  • Hey John nice bible verses I look them up in my bible

  • Hi Stacy and Miranda.Miranda what you did was very kind you turned away from God then gave your life to him again.God Bless you Miranda you to Stacy and may God always be with you!

  • Hey Stacey,if you don't believe Jesus is the Savior and Messiah, why did you see this video anyway? Maybe is the Lord Jesus touching your heart already. I hope you find our Only Savior called Jesus Christ, because He wants everybody in Heaven with Him,including you.He loves you too.

  • Because it came up as "related" to another video that I had seen, and I replied to it because I couldn't believe the nonsense in the comments. You're as free to believe in your chosen superstition as anyone else is, but I know the only REAL "god" is the magic jug of milk I keep in my refrigerator.

  • Hey Stacy,

I used to say the same thing you did. I grew up in church, then i started to doubt. I turned away from God. But, now, ive given my life back to Him. Think about it for a second..there is more proof that Jesus was and was and is true than there is to say otherwise. I'll be prayin' for you. =)

    In Christ,

    Miranda

  • Believe me, I've spent more than "a second" thinking about this, and there is no more evidence for YOUR chosen superstition than there is for any OTHER superstition. If it makes you happy, and you're not hurting anyone else with your wishful thinking, more power to you, but it certainly doesn't mean that your religion is founded in anything more than wishful thinking.

  • Hey StacyC123, thanks for replying back. You know, I'm testifying to the fact that Jesus Christ died for me..and lives today. It's more real than the nose on my face. There's no way I can make you believe anything. And I don't want to force anything upon you, and I hope I'm not. But, I can honestly tell you that Christ has made a huge difference in my life. I'm willing to share anytime. I hope you have an awesome day!!

    -Miranda

  • OK Everyone admitted that Jesus performed miracles There

  • Who exactly is "everyone"? The only sort of evidence for ANY of these supposed "miracles" comes from the same place the rest of your superstition is founded on, and I'm not about to believe that as unbiased evidence any more than I'm about to believe a Mormon who claims that Joseph Smith was a prophet, or a Muslim who claims that Mohammed was a prophet, or any OTHER fruit-loop religion who claims that THEIR founder was a prophet.

  • The Christian religion "works" exactly the same way that every other religion "works"; people who WANT to believe in their chosen religion automatically ascribe anything good that happens to them as being the result of their "god", and automatically discount anything that doesn't support that belief. This is exactly the same way that horoscopes, "fortune tellers", and con artists like Sylvia Browne operate.

  • The real Jesus of history is consistent with the glorified Christ of Christian faith, because he is one and the same. The skeptical attempt to separate the real Jesus of history from the Christ of faith is a futile attempt to separate the inseparable. The Christ of Christian faith is simply the real Jesus of history plus a developed understanding and interpretation of who he was and is.

  • ...Behold The Lamb of GOD who takes away the sins of the world...

...The Lion of the tribe of Judea...

  • i agree we must exalt the glory of the living god because we all fall short we must help up unbelievers and encourage them..

glory to the lamb in the highest!

  • elijah is back to revive the church and turn the children hearts back to God lest curse evil genration

  • When I die and go to heaven i'm going to ask Jesus what he wrote in the sand. Nice video by the way

  • Some say He may have written the ten commandments, the same finger that wrote the original.

  • Which of the four different stories of the "resurrection" do you want to believe? Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John all tell DIFFERENT stories, differing in who, what, where, when, and how, and they directly contradict each other numerous times.

  • StaceyC123 - you're missing the big picture

  • Ah, "the big picture". If someone wants me to believe something, they have to do a little better than tell me a nice fairy-tale and say "Oh, don't worry about the details." You wouldn't believe ANYTHING else based on a story with this many holes and contradictions in it, but because you WANT to believe in this particular story, you're willing to overlook those holes and contradictions.

  • The Jesus I know is not confined to words on a page, but is very much alive and His spirit consumes those who are sincere and open to Him. I can only pray that you will come to know Jesus and not simply know of Him.

  • You're thankfully free to believe in whatever nonsense you WANT to believe in, whether it's the tooth fairy, elves, the Loch Ness monster, Sasquatch, magical pink unicorns, or the folk-tales that religions are founded on. However, your believing in those things doesn't mean they're true, does it?

  • It always amazes me how the people so passionately, against something always manage to show up on the videos about that something to complain about it and whine about how much they hate it. How odd...

  • Jesus existed. There is no debate on this anymore among scholars of ancient history. It's like denying the moon exists. A "folk tale" is usually contrived of pure, fantasy. So much for your intelligence. Now, just go back to sleep.

  • I don't doubt that a person named "Jesus" existed, or that this person was killed by the Romans for being a troublemaker; what is FAR, FAR from being established is whether this Jesus character was just another nutcase, a mystic who's reputation has been played up since then, or actually someone with some sort of connection to an unproven "Gawwd".

  • The loneliest moment in life is when you have just experienced that which you thought would deliver the ultimate, and it has just let you down.

  • Stacey, I'm a theology student... So maybe I could help you out with those "contradictions"

assuming you can call them out?

  • For example: we're told that "Mary Magdalene discovered the resurrection" when she went to "anoint Jesus' body" after 3 days, but there are a BUNCH of problems with this story as it's told. First, an observant Jew WOULDN'T have done this, because touching a dead body after it's buried is anathema to them; if a body is to be "anointed", it has to be done BEFORE burial, and while the body is constantly accompanied.

  • They wouldn't have done this, any more than any one of US would go dig up our great-grandparents to "anoint" THEM.Second, Jewish law says that only males are allowed to perform burial rituals on male bodies, and only females are allowed to perform those rituals on females; "Mary Magdalene" wouldn't have been ALLOWED to perform any such "anointing".

  • The ressurection story itself is full of contradictory details among the 4 accounts: How many women are we told went to perform this supposed "anointing"? John 20:1 says 1, Matthew 28:1 says 2, Mark 16:1 says 2 and possibly 3, and Luke 24:9 says at LEAST 3.

  • How did the boulder blocking the tomb come to be moved away? Matthew 28:2 says that there was a "great earthquake", and that an "angel" came down to roll the stone away, while Mark, Luke and John say nothing of the sort, saying simply that they "found" the stone rolled away. Was Matthew simply making "seeing an angel" up, or did the others just "forget"?

  • How many of the "apostles" went to the tomb to see if Mary was just making things up?

Luke 24:12 says that Peter went alone to the tomb, and found only scraps of cloth, but John says that Simon AND Peter AND an unnamed "other disciple" did this. Both stories CAN'T be true.

  • When he or they went to the tomb, what did they see?

Matthew 28:2 says that they saw only the "angel", sitting on the stone that it had "rolled away", while Mark 16:5 says that there was an "angel" sitting INSIDE the tomb, while both Luke and John say that there were actually TWO "angels" (with Luke saying that the "angels" were sitting where "Jesus'" body was, and John saying that they were standing).

  • What did this supposed "risen prophet" do after his nap? Once again, the answer depends on which version you want to believe; Matthew 28 says that he immediately met the "two Marys", and (after they had prostrated themselves and held his feet) told them to go tell everyone else to meet him in Galillee.

  • Mark 16:9 says only that he met Mary Magdalene, who went alone to tell everyone else, but John 20 says that he met Mary Magdalene and told her not to touch him (a direct contradiction vs. Matthew).

  • If God would concede me His omnipotence for 24 hours, you would see how many changes I would make in the world. But if He gave me His wisdom too, I would leave things as they are.

  • Isaiah 53:3-12

3 He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces, he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

4 Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted.

5 But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.

  • 6 We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

7 He was oppressed and afflicted, yet he did not open his mouth; he was led like a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is silent, so he did not open his mouth.

  • 8 By oppression and judgment he was taken away. And who can speak of his descendants? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was stricken.

9 He was assigned a grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death, though he had done no violence, nor was any deceit in his mouth.

  • 10 Yet it was the LORD's will to crush him and cause him to suffer, and though the LORD makes his life a guilt offering, he will see his offspring and prolong his days, and the will of the LORD will prosper in his hand.

11 After the suffering of his soul, he will see the light of life and be satisfied; by his knowledge my righteous servant will justify many, and he will bear their iniquities.

  • 12 Therefore I will give him a portion among the great, and he will divide the spoils with the strong,

because he poured out his life unto death, and was numbered with the transgressors. For he bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
