  • Most of those places restaurants etc,, don't exist anymore, this video may have been done 20 years ago. I'm from Perù and I go to Cusco every year, nowadays is different, The streets are more crowded and there are a lot of nice and beautiful places such bars, discos, restaurants, museums, shopping malls, historical places nowadays.

  • quinoa is a seed, not a grain.

  • Tipycal 'north american' ignorant tourist... yeah, Peru a thrid World country... as if the US's economy today is any diferent. Enjoy while you can!

  • obviously this was filmed 20-30 years ago -- check out his Rio video where he's using the huge microphone. The US dollar was actually strong at the time of filming , and the Monistario hotel probably cost a lot less too. In any case, those short pants just seem wrong.

  • I was there last summer....one word....Amazing....the people are so friendly and sincere....no stress, pure enjoy

  • You can buy many things with your Dollars, not because Peru is 3rd World Country, but because the prices are reasonable, so you can buy good quality things there with Soles too. You don't see prices super inflated by taxes either. There is a lot competition in businesses & public services, so everybody tries to do the best. So you find in Peru good friendly service that together with the interesting views, traditions & culture in general, makes you feel good. Peru is rich in many ways!!!

  • The dollar is strong because Peru is a 3rd world country ?

You dont undertand nothing about economy, The dollar is falling apart. You can buy very little In Brazil and Chile with your "dolllars" for instance.Let's not talk about the Euro, which is a real strong currency.

3rd world ? How come youre a president of Geographic? Very disrespectful, and OLD comment. You should say at least "a developing country" . Call peru 3rd world is like calling an afro american "niger" .

  • this dude rocks.he is a great narrator.

  • @chantmayer Actually his speech is rather boring, like a run-on sentence. He varies his emphasis with volume instead of tone/pitch/emotion.

  • Well, there are rude people but we actually like american people as tourists, as well as canadian, german etc but I have to admit that the frenchs are anoying.

  • That comment about Peru is a third world country is just stuped, you are not helping the tourism, plus dollars is strong???? now the Euro is more value, go back your country asshole, and never go back... and learn to make real journalism!

  • just say "no thanks" there's not such a thing as "opening an invitation", because of people like you, some peruvians think that all americans are cold and rude.

  • Please dont touch the stones the grease of your fingers and hands could deteriorate them. Thanks. Hugs from Denmark.

  • I was there just a couple days ago, and i walked from cusco to manchu picchu... now that im watching this, this guy is a real gringo... lol

  • no disrespect Dennis but your narrating skills are comical.... stick to video work and photography.

  • I was there in august. I was right behind the hotel ij minute 1:41. I was in Cusco Plaza Hotel 1

  • You make me embarrassed to be from the United States.

  • I agree with you Scooter10061

This guy is a fucking moron and very condescending to the Peruvian people.

People like him I don't have respect for.

  • in cusco you have to be nice with the people, because they are nice with you. of course they want to survive with your money, but that is the same phenomenun in all word. dont forget throw away the american ice if you are there. be hot

  • omg lol I swear the band playing at the airport is the same exact one that I saw when I visited couple months ago

  • haha oh my god it is the same people!!!! ya dude i've been there also i love it, very old school.

  • well but the guy obviously don't know the culture, he say "to the vendor, don't even look at them because its an invitation" WEll, in Peru that is considered rude so if you want to be known as the rude American fine do that, but usually a "no thanks" (no gracias) would do it. Just common sense. And knowing that the Monasterio is $450-$4,500 per night,

  • I don't know if you can buy much with your american dollars in the "3rd world country like he says" Actually it all depends on where you stay and where you go as the prices varies from expensive to cheap

  • A luxury hotel can cost you minimum of $450 a night up to $4,500...VS there are confortable hotels for $45.00 as well.

A luxury restaurant can cost you about $200 per couple VS $40.00 per couple as well.

So, it all depends or where you go and where you stay.

  • Peru is amazing and the people are awesome, very nice people. Going on jan

  • cuzo cuzcooo :D:D macchu picchu marvel of the world.. yeah!!

  • A M A Z I N G

  • I am really amaze on your knowledge of this historic sites. Thank you for bringing back a lot of wonderfull memories when I visited Cuzco with my wife. Have you visited Guatemala?? If not, please consider this message as an invitation
