They were due to fight after Nelson's fight with the European champion - Pat Cowdell (Pat came to my gym once when I was a kid). Anyway, Nelson KO'd Cowdell in about 30 seconds. McGuigan quickly changed his plans and opted to fight a different opponent who pulled out a few weeks before. So they got a part-time fireman called Stevie Cruz as a replacement who battered him! Its on Youtube!!
