Looks like his rear tire pressure was too low. That and he had wheel hop at the start (not contributing to the wreck but indicates a poorly set up car), an unsecured drivers seat, and poor or no safety belts. Definitely lucky, but on the dumb side of luck.

The guy was on a solo pass, he crosses the center line and gets out of it. He still feels the need to get back into his lane, over-corrects the car and trashes it. The run was over once he crossed the line. If he had just lifted and cruised down the strip he'd have been fine. He wasn't thinking. Lucky to alive though.
