Why in hell would you want to equip Homewrecker instead of Axetinguisher?

I really don't understand he purpose of this weapon. Are you meant to melee sentries? Because if there aren't any sentries around, you don't need a special melee weapon to take buildings down, flamethrower is just fine.

Well I use it as a defense pyro. Saves people from the helpless moment of walking in to a dead engi and sapped buildings. Also means you can chill near the Engi, killing spies and helping him desap in dire situations. I like it XD

I always carry around the Homewrecker, but its not at a good potential it should atleast have a less knokback when weilding cause it is used to take down engie nests but that sentrys knock back is hard to get past

very good weapon if you plan on defending a sentry, since it can remove sappers faster than an engi can. just 1 hit. wouldn't even consider using it on a lvl 3 sentry without a uber though.

@P0intlessPers0n yeah, it's cool for a pyro.The problem is it makes a job already rather difficult for a spy, nearly impossible. There are a LOT more pyros that just sit on sentry nests continuously flaming everything and ready to remove sappers. I don't know why they're turning pyro into a support class when it's a combat class. Now instead of only needing to backstab/kill the engi, you also have to take out a pyro that is actively guarding a nest waiting for spies.

@Cordman1221 nice to get a point, but I think you also fuck over the engi if he's next to you and you got to it first, I haven't tested it personally but I'd assume he can't hit the side that was unsapped by the pyro and remove the sapper from the other side. Essentially the pyro gets a point but ruins the chances of the engi saving his tele for the entire team.

Its sort of a joke weapon atm, and while it can be useful, its quite niche as you basically require a medic to take out a sentry worth anything. Its still a lot of fun though, and hilarious to get kills with it. Hopefully valve comes up with a balance soon, like immunity to sentry pushback, airblasts, etc when you have it out.
