  • You didn't mention symptoms - misleading video title

  • I have chest tightness on my left side. What should I do? I went to the doctor and had an EKG? or something like that and he said my heart looked good. But I have shortness of breath and my chest by the heart sometimes hurts.

  • @starwarsagent i have the same, my doc has booked me for a stress - echocardiogram which sees a hell of a lot more than your typical EKG (i had and EKG 6 months ago that the doc said was fine, and one last week and the doc (a different one) saw something she didn't like) so you can't always tell with those things. Go get yourself another opinion until they give you real answers.

  • @ChikenSyndrome what meen Dyspoea ,Palpitatios,Peripheral Oedema

  • I don't buy into this shit about low carb and high fat diets. Some of the healthiest people around the world do the exact opposite. They eat meat and fats in moderation and eat carbs such as rice. If you eat a balanced diet and a lot of vegetables and fruit and limit your meat and fat intake you are exercising a healthy diet. Look at cultures that are known to live longer and healthier and check out their diet. THAT is the best advice, not these quacks trying to sell you something.

  • Im 29 and i notice when im trying to sleep at night that i can feel my heart stop, then come back with a really heavy beat. Then a bunch of little ones. Plus im kinda feeling sick and dizzy.

  • @gamebuyer22 its called skipped beats or PVCS PAC's. A lot of people get them, I haven't heard anyone ever say they are bad, I get them too. Its a weird feeling like a fluttery feeling or it just feels like the heart stops than the next beat is strong like a thud. I get the same shit, u sound like myself, I have really terrible anxiety, and I think that stuff could be a symptom from too much adrenaline.

  • @ChikenSyndrome Yes, I went to have my wisdom teeth pulled and my blood pressure was 150 over 105. My dental surgeon sat me down and had a little chat with me saying he didn't want to see me stroke out and be a walking vegetable etc. I went to my doctor, got some blood results done and it looks like I may have a hyperthyroid, and possibly graves disease. I'm going for more blood work, having an ultrasound done on my neck and chest as well as going to a kidney specialist. All for free! Canada woo!

  • Thank you! I like your video, it was very informative. Vegetarianism is better.

  • My dads side has a little history of bad hearts

  • fuck off you shithead fuck

  • hi,

im a 26 yr old male, and i just donated blood.i got a card in the mail.and it says my cholesterol is (LDL)257.

this is verry high i heard.

  • Although on prescription drugs my wifes blood pressure remainder at the top end of normal. After taking Levodyn for three months the improvement has been significant and she intends to carry on with Levodyn as a really helpful supplement.

  • i am taking Sterolyn and it's really the best pill i've ever tried, no side effects and all natural.

  • I have a really sharp pain in the right side of my chest. It started about 3 or 4 days ago and is getting worse. I feel really dizzy and and light headed alot... my blood pressure is in the 200's and im only 22. im really worried and i dont have a family doctor. Can anyone describe what i might be feeling? i get random chest pains that usually last a few seconds. This pain isnt going away and hurts more when i bend a certain way or sit a certain way. Plz Anyone? Im really worried!

  • I have already suffered 2 heart attack & have what my phsyican calls dangerously high triglycerides & LDL, and i was told that if i do not get these levels under control i will have another. This did frighten me and i knew i needed to do something to reverse this damage. I knew plant sterols were powerful so i tried Sterolyn, and i'm very proud to say that my triglycerides have gone from 512 all the way down to 155. LDL count down from 240 to 132. Great product.

  • Not true, I don't agree with you Doctor. It is not true that Vegetarian people in Hindu culture have less hear problems. NOT TRUE AT ALL. I know this for the fact.

Buddhist people in Chinese culture is a different story. Chinese people are very little and skinny and that's why they don't have any heart problems.

  • how do i exersize if my heart hurts? and my breathing is uneasy. by the way im 16 and inactive. i have an ok diet but its not the best. im starting to exersise now but am afraid because my heart hurts. what can i do?

  • So how do Hindu people get their protein if they don't eat meat??

  • Didnt even mention the symptoms!!!

  • Everyone keeps asking for SYMPTOMS! Of what? Heart disease? Perhaps you all are confused and think you want to know the symptoms of a HEART ATTACK. See my other video. Think high cholesterol levels, high blood pressure, diabetes and weight gain....ALL possible SYMPTOMS of heart DISEASE.

  • obesity alone can also cause high blood pressure, cholestorol, and diabetes. These heart disease symptoms, can all be caused from obesity alone....it doesnt mean you necessarily have heart disease. In fact, you are more likely to have high blood pressure, cholestorol, and diabetes due to obesity, rather than HEART DISEASE.

  • @asktheholisticdoctor

High cholesterol and high bloodpressure are NOT symptoms. They will maybe cause symptoms.

  • @asktheholisticdoctor We want to know physical symptoms, what to feel for and what they can mean. Recently my heart feels like its fluttering or something, I get a strong butterfly feeling in my chest like I'm on a roller coaster. Any idea what this is?

    Thanks for your time,

    Ben.

  • dang it, I think I have it too, but I have perfect blood pressure, body to weight ratio, diet & all that stuff.

I had to leave work today cause my heart was hurting so bad & I kept on almost throwing up & fainting.

This happens usually after I've been sick

  • damn!! did you already get your heart checked?

  • i think i have to exercise more...i eat generally okay....but i never exercise...i only walk home everyday sometimes i'll take the bus...but i think i seriously need to do something cause i always feel this sharp pain in my chest its bad it happens maybe 2 or 3 times a week... :(

  • sometimes my heart hurts like its being sticked by a needle, its more often then it did for 1 or 2 years ago, i smoke, i drink, i dont really eat unhealthy i think so, any one knows if this is just normal or it would stop if i stopped smokin or drinking or do i have to see a doctor?

  • ALYANDSEINAI you need to see your doctor IMMEDIATELY about your heart.. take it from me i underwent 4 open heart surgerys and i was feeling thoose symptoms before my previous surgery .. one night i was in a deep sleep and just like that i jumped in my bed and my heart was beating rapidly .. you may have a valve problem but dont panic its normal

  • p.s the sharp chest pain which feels like im being stabbed runs in my family and i have it since i was a child but its not always in the chest

  • .

"... the major avoidable contributory factor to cardio-vascular disease is a sudden fall in blood glucose supplying the heart ..."

    .

Warm thanks; Nick Gracey, WATerian @ 10:17hrs sun22feb2009 GMT

  • It has now gone to the point that my heart beats very fast while resting or doing nothing, i really hope you can shed light to my problems coz im not diabetic, overweight, dont smoke, i have quit eating meat so im also vegetarian and i dont drink. im really confused but then it might be my diet i dnt eat frm mcdonalds and stuff but my diet pretty much constitutes of crisps ALOT of chocolate ALOT of water, pasta and rice, fruits and i crave for sweets thus i eat alot but i have a healthy BMI of 21

  • I am not the person to ask to diagnose you and provide a solution.

  • @asktheholisticdoctor

Offcourse you cant. You are not a doctor of medicin.

  • Are you telling me that diet can reverse heart disease? i truely hope so coz im only 18 i run out of breath when i run for no more than a minute even for the bus stop and i have sharp pains in my chest out of nowhere but they disappear if i hold my breath in and then breath very slowly i have had this since i was 14 but the doctors say theres nothing wrong with me. i have quit footbal because of this my heart beats 2 the extend i think it will explode and lately i have been extremely fatigue

  • Great information -much needed at this time

    Thank you

  • I have continued gall bladder issues and am going to perform a gall bladder flush, which I hope will remove the stones.

A high fat diet causes the gall bladder attacks, correct?

What are your thoughts on the low carb/high fat diet and gall bladder problems?

If a person had gall stones and gall bladder attacks, should they avoid a atkins type diet?

  • No, high fat is not the only variable that causes gall bladder problems. It's a very poor diet high in carbs and processed food mostly. Atkin's like diet would be the answer. Have some faith!

  • At least he's not beating the low fat mantra as most "health" gurus do. But the fact is that after more than 40 years, no clinical trial has been able to prove any link between diet and heart disease. He mentions two diets that are supposed to help, but doesn't mention any studies supporting his advice.

  • You couldn't be more wrong. The Framingham Study and the Harvard Nurses Study both prove the connection. I'm not here to cite studies. I'm here to give my opinion about what I have used successfully in my clinic.

  • Get your facts straight. Did you actually READ the studies you mention. Neither one provides any evidence of a connection between diet and heart disease. It's easy to give opinions on anything based on anecdotal evidence, as you are doing, but it's a lot harder to perform double blind tests and statistical analysis to actually prove a claim. I have relatives who smoked until they died, well past their 80th birthday, that doesn't prove smoking will extend your life.

  • So if you actually have heart disease, how do you cure it?

  • Diet can reverse it. See Atkin's and any other low carb guru....or if you prefer, see Dr. Dean Ornish's vegetarian diet.

  • dude im the same. i cant even walk up the stairs without shortness of breath haha. im not even fat!

  • Can any age get heart disease?

  • Rare at a young age, though the process starts in us all when we are born. It's more of a problem as we get older and diet is the only preventative plan.

  • you decribed the prevention well but you did not tell the symptoms. but thanks for sharing.

  • Symptoms are discussed in the first minute of the video. Remember, this is heart disease, not heart attack.

  • John Leal of Rancho Cucamonga explained to me the benefits of getting a heart scan - what do you think about early detection?

  • If you're talking about a CAT scan of the heart and the coronary artery...I think it's a great idea.

  • thanx for the info.

  • Thanks!

  • he didnt talk about the symptoms!

  • High blood pressure, high cholesterol and diabetes are all mentioned in the first minute of the video,

  • Oh ok.I always thought there were alot more symptoms.

  • Note we are talking about heart disease, not heart attack. So, the question is: what signs in a human suggest they may be suffering from the ongoing process that leads to heart disease. That's different than a heart attack.

  • The video on heart disease was very good

  • Very good information on heart diseases & diet for preventing heart attacks

  • high cholesterol does not cause heart disease

search for "Modern Forager The Cholesterol Hype" in google.

    dont take statins!!!

  • I totlally agree!

  • I agree -- low carbs are ok IF you eat the right carbs! e.g. Brussel sprouts, broccoli, onions, etc.

  • I really enjoy watching/listening. These videos are very helpful on all subjects. I was amazed to learn that high fat diets(good fats)plus low carbs is ok and great for your heart ...and one of the best for your hear is Vegetarian diets. Keep it comming Dr. Dahlman
