It's not like Nado spam was what won this match anyway. M2K exploited DK's lack of options for dealing with juggles in general. DK is usually forced to airdodge when being juggled, but MK has so little commitment on his moves that DK's commitment on airdodge results in him getting controlled and comboed reliably.

@Sveet I use MK secondary and I know full well what each player's mistakes and strategies were in this match...As does A2ZOMG who happens to be one of the best Mario's in the nation at Brawl.

And because I decide to play Brawl over melee doesn't mean I never played melee. Dashizwiz is awesome, of course, but as with every player if he didn't know how to set up his combos they'd be for naught. Setups involve reads, and playing safe is the reason why low-tech players like Hugs were Melee's top.

@JohnZobac hugs is very technical and ahead of his time. Hugs plays both offensively and defensively. Samus is a very limited character and being very perfect with spacing is required. Being "non-aggressive" isn't required in high level melee play. In fact its the opposite, where being aggressive and keeping pressure on the opponent is absolutely needed as well as being able to recognize when you're at a disadvantage and playing defensively.

I'm not really sure how you can get off calling me ignorant. I would say that you're the ignorant one. I play melee and i'm in the tier directly under the top level players in our region, competing for 3-7th consistantly. At the same time i'm exposed to the high level brawl community via players like lain, ally, hunger, arty, quik, ect. I dont play the game, but i definitely understand it. You don't get melee.

The thing about that was that it isn't just spamming tornado, its intelligent spam. He used in when cable was about to land and had no option but to get hit. He also mixed in Up B followups so it would not be predictable... Sure tornado is a stupid move, but he didn't abuse it more than DDD and his grab Falco and his lasers Diddy and his bananas or snake and his nades.

Somehow it seems like nade and banana usage requires more skill than hitting 'b' repeatedly.

What this video really shows is that M2K was holding back. He only switched to the spamming tactics when he was on the ropes. If it works so well, why not spam it all game? Because M2K knows how bad it looks on YouTube to do that.
