You fight against Gym Leaders and trainers alike to fullfill Team Rocket's Goal. You have to beat a Rocket Admin to go higher in career, ending with stopping Team Rocket in the end as a traitor OR becoming the new evil mastermind of Team Rocket. I would really like if the story wasn't so scripted, that you can actually turn evil in a Pokemon game.

@JamieBugajski The machine part grunt is in Icirrus city in a house only obtainable in the months of april, august, and december (due to these months having the winter season within the game) and he mentions that he was part of team rocket, he was going to revive the team (as told in HG/SS/G/S/C) but he fell in love. It's just a reference, but it could possibly be more than a coincidence.

After beating the League at least once, go to Castelia City and into the Game Freak Building. Talk to the Sound Designer ( The Ace Trainer next to "Snorlax") and he'll talk about dramatic music. The Castelia City Music will change into Team Rocket's theme. Hope this helped ^_^

Gamefreak should just go all out in their next game. Play isshu region like normal. Then Team rocket appears. TR and TP steal pokemon for different reasons and thus would fight each other as well. Then at the end of the game Cyrus appears and is like I'm god now and shit is fucked up.

The machine part grunt in HG/SS said he came from another country, hence Unova.

This theme was made as a practice test song for GameFreak and was then let to be played by GameFreak Inc.

Plasma mentions them because they ABUSED Pokemon which they hate.

If Team Rocket was going out doing immeasurable crimes, obviously someones going to stow away something.

This all adds up to one thing: Nothing.

@coolcomment8 Not to mention that a Team Rocket member pops up in Black and White...I was actually discussing this with a friend, and we both agree that, in addition to all the other allusions to the group, that this may be foreshadowing for a future Pokemon game where they pull a G/S/C and revive Team Rocket again. Not that I'd be complaining; Team Rocket is and always will be my favorite evil syndicate in any of the Pokemon games.
