  • danrg thoes are frekin cute cats. I love cats.. :3

  • 2:53 it's like he is trying to penetrate the whole cat!

  • very , very , very nice technique, congratulationas, i practice this. Thanks for you video.

  • lovely, yet it needs some tachniques to find the ovaries so easily

  • @wildmanshoe yeah it certainly takes some practise

  • DAMN! yall iz sum heartless ass ppl yall wuz handling that cat any kinda way yall r the seeds of satin nd at the end that cat looked so sad nd missourable it wuz purring to cover up the pain it wuz in T-T

  • @blackstripes / So we are not alone! Dra. Wolda Benitez did a similar thing to our cat. That sure is medical malpractice.

  • he's so aggressive :(

  • WOW, Is that what Propofol did to Michael Jackson?

  • @JamesWorley kind of, MJ had too much though

  • My friend cried when she saw how nice these spaying went. Her kitten had a 4 inches long cut with15 sutures. The kitten was a small 2.5 kilos furball. Dr Wolda Benitez took out the entire uterus and put in back. Im not a vet but i think that wasnt right. Where do we go when we suspect medical malpractice?

  • @blacstripes where are you

  • @blacstripes where are you?

  • @blacstripes very good

  • @blacstripes A four inch incision with 15 sutures will take the same amount of time to heal as a half inch incision with one suture (skin heals side to side not front to back). And I find it really hard to believe that she placed the uterus back in the abdomen after having removed it -- there's no logical reason for anyone to do that and it would be detrimental to the health of the animal.

  • Awwe, I love how lovey and cute she was at the end of it all,

  • Uhm, how old should be a kitty for a spay ?

  • @Amaria20101012 about 5-6 months old usually.

  • @Amaria20101012 Technically a cat can be spayed as young as 2 months as long as it weighs at least 2 pounds

  • o.o""

    MONSTERS!!

  • Thanks so much for posting. Our 2 kittens are having key-hole spaying next week. I feel so much more relaxed having seen this.

  • Yes your female dog w'll stop having her period

  • wow...

  • How'd you make it pee????O.O

  • @ohmygod666666 i think he squessed it xD

  • @ohmygod666666 U look for the bladder and press it, it feels like a balloon full of water... in cats is easier than in dogs...

  • if i do this to my dog would she stop having her period/on heat?

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 yes it would

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 yes she would

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 yes it would

  • @QuiCkScOpeZII510 If the surgery is well made that is going to happen, but if a part of the ovary is left (no matter how small it is), she will continue having her heat but of course she won't be able to get pregnant...

  • I lol'd hard when you said "There's a good kitty"

  • Ummm......GLOVES por favor!!! n not only when ur making incisions n stuff...

  • amazing, gonna try that!!

  • anything for money

  • I do like propofol(We call it : the Jackson's injection) but expensive.I have a question. do you guys use iv fluid there?.I love to try the flank spay.thank you

  • @ejotjatube - We do use iv fluids but not for quick routine ops like these. Where do you live? It's odd, in Australia where I'm originally from most people do midline spays but here in England most do flank spays.

  • Tremendamente instructivo!

Muchas gracias por postear este video :D

  • nice music choice heheee

  • What's the analgetic compound of your anesthesia?

  • Buprenorphine as part of the pre-medication and a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (meloxicam in this case) at the time of the operation

  • That sounds great :)

We're still using ketamine/ xylazine in Germany with meloxicam before the cat wakes up...people mostly don't want to pay more than 100€ for a female cat.

I wonder how much you take using expensive stuff like propofol and buprenorphine?

  • Could you comment on that "tricky part" again, you found the uterus unbelievably fast!

  • You need to make your incision in just the right place. I make mine a "first knuckle on the thumb" length down from the wing of the ilium Then it's a matter of directing the forceps in the right direction (just ventral to the sub-lumbar fat) which takes some practice. It's a matter of getting "a feel " for it. I rarely actually grab the uterus itself but grab the broad ligament which then leads you to the uterus.

  • I really like this method the only problem is if this animal went to a shelter and was palpated for a spay scare one would not be felt in the "normal" spot. Also, if that was propofol, that was a rapid injection for induction!!!!

  • Thanks for your comments stevo. In the UK the left flank is the most common approach for a cat spay. You are absolutely right about the propofol, it was very quick. She was struggling alot and I didn't want to blow the vein so I injected while I had the chance.

  • i swear if you put a cat to sleep fully they can die thats what my vet said when they did the operation to my cat a few days ago

  • You are right, every general anaesthetic carries a small risk of death.

  • yeah. when you bring in a pet to be put down, the vet basically

just gives it an over does of a sedative. it's a really painful thing to watch.

  • just a hole! that looks great...

ermmm... if vet cant find the horns easier as him :( is it a big trouble...

  • no, if you cant find the uterus or if it is bigger than usual (eg if the cat is in season) then you just have to make the hole a little bit bigger. Then you might need to put some sutures in.

  • this guy is hot, nice accent too ;)

  • that injection worked fast

  • Hi, don't you know any alternative procedure to the removing all the reproductive organs? I need my cat spayed but I wish she didn't has to loose all her organs. thanks

  • No there isn't one yet but a retired inventor/surgeon has offered $75million to the person or team that finds a way

  • Remove the ovaries? That would still involve removing reproductive organs, but you would still keep the uterus, the female just wouldn't be able to produce eggs.

  • Good idea. I just learned that ovariectomy is the most common endoscopic procedure at major veterinary institutions. Could easily also be done through a normal approach.

    I was thinking non-surgical.

  • i think educating the cats while theyre young could be an answer

  • LOL!

  • @paulcassoni LOL but experiments on humans for this scientific method have seem to have failed!

  • Absolutely awesome! You make it look easy. I will certainly be trying this in my spay clinic. I will be forwarding this site to all the spay vets in the US. We are always looking for faster and better techniques because we do large numbers of cats in one day.
