Pretty much everything but the body and neck. Getting some locking tuners, a new bridge, pickups, knobs, pickguard... it's gonna be like a totally new guitar when I'm done with it :)
I got mine about 10 years ago and it was 95 english pounds but it was a display model. You could have a look on the internet, I'm sure they're still fairly cheap.
No, his albums are all under his own name. However every now and then he teams up with Steve Vai and Yngwie Malmsteen (and sometimes John Petrucci) under the name "G3". There are plenty of G3 videos on this site.
If it took you 10 years to play a solo then you clearly were not ment to play music. Most people can play a solo within a few months of picking up a guitar. Joe Satriani practically mastered the guitar in less than five years.
I do think I'm meant for the guitar because I love it. The solo was learned in a few months, I just meant it has taken me that long to get where I am. I spent most of my time learning the wrong things and being lazy. I can now learn solos quite easily but its just remembering them, cos I've got other things in my life. I'm jealous of people like Joe Satriani and would die to be as good as that, and especially Paul Crooks from Meatloaf.
Sorry I didn't answer you, I've not been on the net for a bit. The squire has served its purpose for me and It's nice and cheap. That's all I know about it really because I've never had anything else to compare it against. Good luck with your guitar playing and remember to do lots of finger strengthening exercises.
It's all about stretching & strengthening the fingers. Try searching in Youtube for guitar lessons and its surprising what you'll come up with. It took me about 10 years before I could even attempt a solo, but that's me. A dedicated person should be able to learn to play in about 5 years.
I have the same problem, it takes me ages to learn anything. There ought to be some way to skip the learning process and get straight there. A good idea is to concentrace on a small section and only move on when you know it. This way, believe it or not, you'll get less bored because it's rewarding to at least be able to play some of the tune you're learning from memory without having to go over the tab.
Thanks for your comment. According to the magazine that came with the CD, the track after is called Stormy in the North, Stormy in the South (yeah quite a long title) by The Wildhearts. Frontman singer/guitarist is a guy called David "ginger" Smith who is, incidentally, not unlike Newton Faulkner in the photo.

The guitar is nothing special and I have no plans to sell it yet. I think it might be the effects module that's making the sound. Also it's been recently re-fretted which makes a difference compared to a worn neck where the notes will be flat and prone to buzzing. It is played through a Zoom MRS8 multi track recorder which also has some pretty cool effects on it.
Beautiful playing, I didn't believe that such playing could be done on a very cheap guitar! I've got the twice as expensive Deluxe Strat, though I can't play as well as you :P
You're too kind. I didn't think a better guitar could make that much difference. It was vertually unplayable before I re-fretted it a couple of months ago. Maybe I'll get a new one now. Thanks for the comment.
Sorry I can't remember if I answered you or not, but anyway. The bullet is ok for a mess about but if you wanted to play professionally I would get a more expensive one. Did you mean post the video of them playing stairway or the music for it?
I'm playing it through a Zoom MRS-8 multi track recording device. Besides multi tracking you can use it as a pretty good effects generator. Thanks a lot for your comment.
Thanks for your comment. It took me about 3 months at first but then I forgot about it and had to learn it again. This happens all the time with me. All I can suggest is learn it a section at a time and keep playing what you've got. Best of luck.

If an opening occurs, you should join a local group or something - you've been good enough for years!

what amp is this
oldcheese55 3 years ago
There's no amp, it's just played through my computer and out of the speakers. The wire goes into the sound card with a big to small jack adaptor.

You just convinced me into buying one of these guitars. I only have a hundred and twenty to blow and what better way to blow it than on this?

Whoa. I got a Bullet just like that one, only in black. Thinking of swapping pretty much everything on it, though. Love the neck on it. :)
lauscho 4 years ago
What things are you swapping? Pickups I guess to start with. Only other thing I can think of is the frets.

it doesnt matter if u hav a good guitar or not it just matters on the skills lol

But you wouldn't see Mark Knopfler playing in concert on a Bullet. There must be some difference, maybe?
