I though ipi n tombia means "young woman" in zulu (I see it on the record sleeve), the israeli announcer - meni pe'er - says its about a "young man" going to the city. he's got "the warrior" song as the "war song" - and no background about the zulu boer war, and the first bit he calls the "jungle song".

basically, just some shit thats meant to be "exotic" african while israel was still doing business and selling tanks to the apartheid regime. great.

I saw the musical Ipi n'tombi when it came to New York in the 1970's. I can't describe how good it made me feel. WHEN IS IT COMING BACK??? I wanted so badly to be one of the dancers, particularly the dancer who shimmys over the backs of the other women. That looked so exciting!!! Please come back the United States.

Fantastic....i saw this show live in Manchester England more than 30 years ago...i was about 7 at the time and i will never forget the feeling it gave me. I am a musician myself now and i put this down to when i fell in love with music , the time i saw Ipi Tombi
