  • 3:28 was the alotta planes taxing to use runway or are they parked up un-used for the day?

  • @chevyvictor They were waiting, You'd be surprised how many planes there are during the busy hours.

  • how many hours on this flight?

  • @nonin1990 The entire flight was 10hr. 25min.

  • wow look at the wind droop down before takeoff lots of fuel in those wings nice vid

  • ive been to this airport on delta 767

  • @Hilarousmoments the video skips really fast from taking off to landing sometime around the time you have on your comment. the pilots are still gaining altitude thus needing the flaps to be active still. Also the same flaps are needed to help create a little lift for the landing segment of the trip

  • Wasn't that same jet part of Northwest Fleet before they merged with Delta??

  • @ezzoff1 Had to be, Delta hasn't had a 747s since the 70s.

  • Isn't this on Jet videos (dot) net?

  • there is always a traffic jam @ Atlanta so great airport :-)))

  • 4:10 finaly an airtran

  • And more at 3:28

  • and 3:23 still are there enoguh deltas I know these are the same ones but theres a lot right there

  • 2:49 are there enough DELTAS!?!?!?!?

  • How long was the flight

  • @abraham98able Depends on the speed of the plane which is about 10-12 hours flight time.

  • a 380 is a bus in the sky that looks like shit

b 747 is a real plane that is the icon for aviation

  • @1234av8tor A380 is cool but not origonal

  • @1234av8tor I think the b777 is still larger and more efficient than than the new b 787 plus I think the tripple 7 holds more passengers.

  • Awesome Video and the inaugral flight too.

  • what city

  • Nice take off

  • She'll always be a Northwest bird at heart!!!

  • @Boatinman11 Damn right, NO refrigerators! Let's hope they get them in the upcoming refit.

  • Atlanta is like the Huge Hub for Delta. Just like Chicago is a huge hub for United.

  • flying to Atlanta With Delta November with my son on a 767-300er looking forward to it

  • these are PW engines right...cuz they make that humming sound on idle

  • ATL has outgrown itself big time.

  • Flying on a 747-400 is definitely on my "bucket list" of things to experience before I leave this world.

  • 3 people don't like american aviation

  • Wow! Since the brunt of the delta livery was in the wavy gravy livery, you would have stood out like a gem. First Delta's shiny 747-400

  • 4:52 yay were in the air

2 mins later: wait, they told me 10 hours, wtf!?

  • Nice plane, nice landing and a beautiful island!!

  • Amtrak...

  • wow its very nice me likey flight from atlanta to honolulu fast fast only 8 minutes very fast plane no slowing down big motors with fast pilot i likey very much

  • @cobra71000 WTF???? That flight does not take 8 minutes.

  • ACK meryl streep movie.. shoot me now. :X it's like looking at the sun....

  • atlanta to honolulu? how long is that 8 hours?

  • @CosbyTheCaterpillar It is a 10 hour flight. I've flown on an Atlanta-Honolulu flight before, 767-300.

  • @ThunderbirdGT how is it being on an airplane for 10 hours? I love airplanes but 10 hours is pushing my limit.

  • @oakleyxmetalxx It's stressing. Just take a nap, it makes it go by a lot faster. lol

  • @oakleyxmetalxx its awesome if you have the entertainment system, but Delta doesnt have it on their 767-300ER.

  • @LiamKroes Be happy!!! TWA had almost no cockpit...

  • @flyinnjim TWA had almost no cockpit.... What are you talking about???

  • @LiamKroes Didn´t you read the answer about my scary experience with the cockpit of a 767 from TWA?

  • @flyinnjim ohh yeah right, forgot.... sorry.

  • @LiamKroes yeah thats got to be rather painful lol!

  • Awesome! Is this seat 11 or 12A? I just flew to Tokyo from MSP on the 744 in 11A! Its a great plane!!!

  • The world for some reason seem upside down;

The americans goes, "less is more"and "sleek is beautiful" "It´s the design that counts" "appearance is everything" bla bla bla. The Europeans; Who gives a shit!?! Either you pull the weight or you don´t. Either you carry the most numbers of passengers in the air or you don´t. How you look while doing it... who cares!?! BIGGER IS BETTER and MORE IS MORE.

  • The A380 is a beautiful plane but i will agree with bieasy the 747 is a wonderful plane

  • sick and epic!!!!!!

  • I love the sound of the cabin bell, it makes me think of going on holiday!

  • LOVE this vid!!!!!!! NICE, First Class! Where did U arrive?

  • LOVE this vid!!!!!!! NICE, First Class!

  • LOVE this vid!!!!!!!

  • Hartsfield is amazing <3 that airport so damn busy

  • The airbus sometimes appears to be a bit overweight in its aesthetic appearance..when compared to the 747. I was hoping that boeing would have designed a new larger aircraft with the same slender aerodymanic multideck cabin to compete with airbus...instead the came up with the very spacious 787..Hey 787,747, airbus a380 all good for the airline industry in my oppinion.

  • Tomtimex,

Yes, Delta flew the -200. I remember seeing it at ATL in the mid-seventies at the gate.

  • Ya know, I think the 747 is still the Queen of the Skys. I mean, the A380 is big and all, but its pretty ugly. The 747 is just COOL. It looks unbelievably cool, and its fun to ride on, i've ridden on both, and the 747 is just the coolest airplane in the world. :)

  • I wish Delta gave an applause like singapore when they had the first commercial a380.

  • Too bad this service didn't last long. Delta switched to the A330 for ATL-HNL. My niece did get a chance to ride the 747-400 from Atlanta to Honolulu in the Upper Deck. She thoroughly enjoyed the service and the seat!

  • It's great to see Delta flying the 74 again!

  • @hotelgulf They never did, did they?

  • god i hate that airport

  • Both Airbus and Boeing make great aircraft.

  • @RePete02 The airbus company is much better

  • holy shit 3:23 , They should put a Traffic Light....

  • what do you mean by First??? is it the first Delta 747 take off from atlanta or something???!!!

  • @sam9524 These 747s were aquired when Delta took over northwest airlines. Repainted them and started flying the big birds!

  • I *LOVE* the sound of the beeps on flights telling you to put your seatbelt on, its even better when your ears are blocked xD

  • How long did the flight take?

  • @weatherboi I believe it is blocked at 8.5 hours but can take longer based on Headwinds. I remember a long time ago it taking something like 10 hours on an L1011-500 when they used those for the non-stop ATL-HNL

  • Yeah... seemed like overkill just for a simple short hop....that being the gas hog 747...yah think? It's best duty now as a freighter and the very very long routes filled with people and better profit enterprise of as a freighter.

  • 3 dislikes are from Airbus

  • why fly such a monster? is that not what a more econonical to operate777 or lightly loaded 767 ER for the 4,500 miles ? Seems like a waste of money and machinery?

  • @505stealth They don't operate the 744 on this route at the moment, but they did because at the time the route was very high density, passenger levels have dipped a bit though.

  • @ElAl4ever It operates out of DTW now, as did Northwest before.

  • @505stealth They use a A330-300 on this route now. They use the 744's on routes to the asian markets, and high density routes on trans atlantic, like JFK - Tel Aviv

  • beautiful........beautiful video......love airplanes..and love boeing!!!!!

  • If it ain't boeing, I ain't going

  • @irishluck0910

    Amen to that brother!

  • @irishluck0910 More and More European Airlines use A380 and the B 747 actually doenst exicst anymore...

thats the Prob and soon the American Airlines and all others will follow.. because Boeing are not going to Built Boeing 747´s...

  • @kommsuchnachdemheld That A380 looks like an overweight wHale. its not really a delight for the eyes, like the slim boeing aircraft and the A340's

  • Comment removed

  • @irishluck0910 You can't help it.

  • @irishluck0910 fatass be original

  • why do i love airplanes so fricken much????

  • Wow Delta have much trafic into Atlanta.

  • @Manu2455 Atlanta is Delta main, and biggest HUB

  • Nice video! but very very busy at the airport! amazing!!

  • WELL done!! In 40+ years of flying, the 747 is the one major plane I still have not had a ride on. Haven't ridden on the A330/340/380, either but, I'd pass a ride on ANY of those aircraft for one in the 747.

  • @aviationwingnut I've been on a A330 and a 747 but not a A340/A380. there both pretty nice.

  • Very quiet PW engines!

  • Nice video - Just had an upper deck seat for 16 hours to NRT.... longer than anticipated, but no big deal

  • Very nice video!

  • notice the old nwa screen at 2:44! hehe

  • It must be cool flying on a 747!! my favorite plane...

  • Nice video :) How long was the flight?

  • Love this aircraft

  • @BoeingAviator211 Perhaps with the merger United will improve their inspections. Personally I have never flew on Delta and maybe someday I will have the privilege to.

  • @BoeingAviator211 I agree with what you said about mergers. There were so many airlines years ago. Now, not so many. Personally, I have a fondness for both United and Continental. I took Continental to my birthplace of Fiji years ago from San Francisco. And I took United visit my family in Australia. 9/11 happened while I was vacation, and when I flew back I was amazed at how, despite the emotions at the time, the flight crew was very professional with me, especially since I am Indian.

  • @BoeingAviator211 You don't like the current Continental livery? Personally, I don't. It's too bland. I liked the former Coninental colors with the meatball logo.

  • Was this about a nine to nine and a half hour flight?

  • GREAT!!!! To see the 747 in a Delta fleet again!, but will miss Northwest from the skies

    above and on the ground.

  • i have had dinner with the pilot of this aircraft. did he say his name was Jeff MclHaney?

  • Beautiful take-off, the 744 really shows her power. Nobody will beat the Queen of the skies. Thanks for sharing.

  • I find the 747 more beautiful than the A380

  • @bieasy

    definitely.

The 747 will always be the one and only queen of the skies

  • @bieasy the new 7478i will be more beautiful than the A380 ever will be

  • Comment removed

  • @bieasy thats because it was the original jumbojet.

    American made all the way!

  • @bieasy yeah it actualy looks like a plane the a380 looks like a big fat flying whale

  • @bieasy I agree way more beautiful except for the old movie screens. otherwise will miss the 747-400's.. delta just painted the old NWA's.. why they cancel the 747 service atl-hnl? it was 10 hours flight time.

  • @airbus320dfw Maybe delta went after more productive routes.

  • I was in this flight

  • Awsome!

  • Great camera work! Great flight video!

  • I want to fly on this plane, one of these days!!!

  • @8018646631 Same here!!

  • 4:10 airtran 717 in the back: "mehh... damn Delta monopoly"

  • rjfromdco8.......Well, OK, but it wasn't the "FIRST DELTA 747" because that was in 1971, maybe before you were born.

  • @boeing747300 either that or to Hawaii

  • man listen to those roaring engines

  • Man..talk about a trafffic jam!

  • Great Video!

  • yeah i counted 14 planes taxiing.

  • @Stupidboy167 All 14 were Delta aircraft! :P

  • ha, you got to cut the massive line

  • lol 5:08 its just got gray lol and the only thing i dont like about airplanes is that they cost so much and if its not alot its not a good flight

  • was the flight smooth?

  • Delta is becoming a airline empire

  • I don't think I saw one airliner not Delta in the whole video............

  • @buffey ATL is huge and Delta dominates ATL. i have a vid on leaving ATL and every terminal is Delta

  • @buffey It is there main hub so dont really expect to see anything else but Delta lol, especially now with all the planes they acquire too from NW its crazy. Even leaving in NY close to JFK its crazy how many delta planes i still here too they do seem to be taking over. I think they have about every commercial aircraft in their fleet now besides the a340 and a380.

  • I love the call button sound

  • Great video. Thanks for posting.

  • Sorry, but these former Northwest 747's were not the first 747's in Delta's fleet. Delta inaugurated 747 service in 1970 and flew them for a few years before retiring them in favor the Lockheed Tristar (L-1011). The L-1011 was also chosen over the DC-10, which also was in Delta's fleet for a time.

As a retired Continental Airlines employee (39 years), I have great respect for both DL & NW and flew them both a lot. But, Delta's service was superior. My vote also goes for NON-UNION!!!

  • @sandiegotrojandawg Had the privledge of flying on one of Delta's original 747's waaaay back in 1971 LAX-ATL.., then returned on a Pan Am 747, I understand they had a partnership agreement at one point. I remember when they repainted the Western DC-10's in Delta colors after their takeover in 86'-87'. I always loved the L-1011 spoolup sound...it was a low rumble and then just almost disappeared at rollout....... mmmmmm!!!!

  • @twister1654 If they get a union first

  • wow this must have been one of the few times KATL was in east ops and a 747 takeing off

  • cool head rest things

  • NWA alll the way!!! I HATE DELTA!!!!!!!!

  • @waielg I agree DL needs 3 things to become a good airline. 1. Stop losing luggage, get nicer F/As, Get a new CEO, and above all GET A UNION

  • @VFA103JollyRogers Delta got where it is today by remaining as union free as possible...GO DELTA!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love delta great video i mean u cant even hear the engines good stuff

  • Delta Air Lines/Northwest service sucks so bad. That 747 is horrible and they have nothing compare to United Airlines service. UAL 747-400 and all remodeled with the International Premium Travel Experience product and brighter newer interiors.

  • @LAXFlyguy85 ya but united breaks guitars. ( look up the vid "united breaks guitars")

  • i would use delta if they had a mastercard or visa card for skymiles. I hate american express.

  • boeing 747's are just huge!

  • Really? A Delta 744 from ATL-HNL Why? It's bad enought that Delta used the L-1011, 767-300D, and 764 for this route but come on. Delta needs to put these aircraft on international routes in which they were intended.

  • @bryanb16th You've got to be kidding me right, you eally think that ATL-HNL is like a short hop? Yes it is considered within the 50 US states, however, it is an International flight in flying time, it takes 9Hrs and 40Mins ATL-HNL, same as ATL-FCO or ATL-FRA, so in theory, this is a domestic flight, for an International route, so a wide body is perfect for this type of flight...

  • @deltaboy767 you are absolutley correct

  • Dude are you first class or is this how it is for everyone?

  • Is that a full throttle takeoff?

  • nice video delta is flying to Moscow ;-)

  • awesome vid!

  • Is the plane still standard NWA interior inside, or did it get re-renovated into DAL's?

  • it's still NWA Interior

  • @NWAflyer NWA is shit.

  • @747forever No DL is shit NWA was great before Steenland though

  • Delta uses B747-400 on NRT to MNL flights regularly :)

Been on it twice!! It was very nice, though the interior was old school, it's still an awesome aircraft.

  • maybe you can corrected if I am wrong but I heard that Delta airlines is getting Panasonic eFX AVOD in coach for domestic and international use is that true? I hope it is because I am traveling to florida for cruise in may and my flight is almost three hours.

  • The first time my girlfriend ever went on a plane it was on a 747:400, from London to Mexico City. She loved it. I hated it. I used to love flying, but am now terrified. And it was a rather long flight.

  • looks fat he view, wats the seat number would you know

  • Great, love that sort of view from the plane, being able to see the engines!! 5* and fav

  • Dude your like freakin lucky. I would do anything to fly on the Delta 747. I dont care if it was from Louisville to Cinnci.

  • I used to do a lot of plane watching from the east end of the north runways in the 80s - we only had one 747, a KLM scheduled in/out of Atlanta! Nice to see them in Atlanta skies again - not only these Deltas but also several cargo carriers.

  • I want to fly on a Delta 747 as that is one aircraft I have never been on. What destinations from ATL does it fly to?

  • @billfish6244 The 747 flies from Narita japan or to honloulou

  • Seriously, the 747s look peculiarly similar to the new United paint schemes.

  • @Amar7605 yes they do i wonder who copied off who
