@Sturmmann I have passed all you quals, it might of been a bit different beacuse it was in Afghanistan, but I passed em and I beat out a few handfuls of Marines. And they were all 0311s. You can think youre the best all you want, truth is: youre not. You never will be. People think the Marine Corps is hard because of Boot Camp length and DI's. it's easy to shoot because that's only the zeroing phase of firing. That wasn't an actual qualification range. The qual range has timed targets at various ranges from 25m all the way to 300m. It's a little harder than the zeroing.

they shoud recieve a better trianing, with more realistic situations, a dinamic course something like that, but they are practicing combat marksmanship just like in world war 1, i was on a program in my country called solider for a day, when i moved to firing range the istruction was "get prone and shot those targets" that was stupidly easy, in real combat you have no time to get prone and aim for abut 5 secs, you would probably shot while you are standing at a moving objet who will kill you!

the M16 is a very accurate and fine weapon. It just needs constant cleaning and it needs to be taken proper care of. On top of that, the military is using low quality powder in their rounds, which the m16 wasen't made to take. Besides, its easier to hit a target with that then something like a AK-47 which has much worse accuracy.

Can anyone tell me how Army rifle qualification works? I'm a Marine and I think using a sandbag in the prone shooting at a target less than 100 yards away would be the equivalent of hitting a broadside of a barn. Then again this video could be the zeroing of the weapons because he said they needed a group. Marines shoot at a 12 inch circle from 200 and 300 yards away.

They zero at 25m? That's odd. Balistics of the M16A2 show that the round crosses the same point at 32 yds as it does at 300 yds. Zeroing should be done at 32yds and they're only doing it at 29. It's a small difference, but it will throw off adjustments made on the rear sight elevation knob.

To properly zero an M16 even in the Corps you use 25m. The bullet crosses the line of sight at 37m and 300m. To zero you use 25m and two clicks above the 8/3 rear sight mark on an A2 or the 6/3 mark on an A4. Adding the 2 clicks puts your sight where the 37m line would be. What range has a 37m line? Using 25m is just more practical.

Ok First off they use the M16 in basic b/c that is the MAIN weapon for the US Army but u can get other weapons IF u have been trained to use that weapon..... everyone shoots the  M249 but only a few get to use it. ur trained to use any and all weapons

When you are practing with them you must do everything correctly. do everything they tell u to and dont have them say it twice. You will be Assigned a position in your Squad. for example... Heavy Gunner- M249... Grenadier- Grenade Launcher Attachment... It all depends on what your rank is and if they think you are Responisible enough(Duties)

You'll get to shoot it though and perhaps even the Mother M240B :) Which is a sweet Machine Gun.
