the one with braces is cute but then chris hansen told me to take a seat over there and did i have a choice? no. i took a seat over there because he's chris hansen
@halkins1 Thank you. Nick here. We spent the most time on the background. We filmed the fire ourselves. I found the volcano and cartoon clips on a web site of public domain videos.
I filmed Molly and Kara in front of hard board painted green. Used a Canon PowerShot camera. We had to download each take because it couldn't hold more than one.
When the girls were ready I stood them in front of the screen, turned on the music and said "Go!" It took about an hour. We added me later.
@SelfAnimation: They flew in a guy from LA just to do the lighting. He was there less than 30 minutes, he took some meter readings, told them what lights they needed and where to put them, then took off for Nashville to catch a plane to NYC to do the lighting for a video shoot there. They shot the video on 35mm film, btw, they didn't cut any corners.
@mriev Thanks Mike. It was a good learning experience. Next one will be even better. We're going to take our time with it and get the shots and editing just right.
@SelfAnimation: Probably the best way to shoot a polished, professional-looking music video is to start with a story board and map out everything, including action, background, and camera angles. However, I liked the spontaneity of this one. There was just that wee bit of self-consciousness that made this video endearing and appealing. It looked like you guys had a lot of fun making it.
@selfanimation: The club I managed was used for a Joe Nichols video
They came in knowing exactly what they wanted, and had all the shots set up and done in a couple of hours. Then they shot another six hours of so of film, doing everything over and over again several different ways. The final video probably contains less than thirty seconds of the "exactly what they wanted" footage.
BTW, the club closed in late 2004, but we still have the mirrored ball used for the beginning and ending scenes. That was one of the unplanned, spontaneous shots.
can you take this one down? it's really not our best.

That is really a great tune and the girls have "it". Could use a little less guitar wailing in the background. These girls rock!

@verblekint Thank you.
The guitar player promises to do the wailing on his own time from now on.

@SelfAnimation Hey - what happened to these girls?? They really have talent. Tried to find more but there's nothing?? What's up with that?

I like this video. It’s so different then other clips on the web.
What “pops out” to me is the girls really enjoy what they’re doing.
They’re just having a genuine, pure fun.
Keep on going girls…

@mriev Funny you should mention it. I just finished creating a storyboard template. I'm going to print up a bunch and start sketching out ideas.
The Joe Nichols video was very well done.
