  • OH MY GOD!!! Beautiful classic disco song.

  • wow! thanks for this! reminded me of my teenage years in the Philippines where they were a huge hit . I love all their songs. hmmm...they sang the song that goes "from Chicago to the sky, flying high" right? anyway, thanks again

  • They did indeed. Go and look at out new version of "New York's On Fire", by Matthew Pateman. I promise you'll love it to bits.

  • "Chicago to the Sky"..."New York's On Fire"..."LA at the End of the Day"...grooves that manage to withstand the test of time...classic disco goodness!!!

Homoerotic subtext - so effin' what!!! It's 2009, let's stop actin' like bigoted cavemen.

Yup, a fellow Filipino lovin' the music!!!

  • Going back to "Midnight In Manhattan" (AVI 6057), I have two questions: a) who sang lead on "L. A. At The End Of The Day", and b) will that fabulous album ever be available on CD?

At this point - I'm desperate!

  • The lead singer was Paul something or other - I need to check. He also sang "Miami Heatwave". The other three tracks were sung by Peter Butler. The entire album was released on CD in the early 1990s by Hot records out of Miami. It's deleted but if you search Amazon or E-Bay I'm sure you'll find it.

  • i have a CD and am willing to share a copy of it!

  • LOL, I remember boogie'ing to this in The Phoenix in the West End, and in Pigeon's at Stratford :-))

Why aint the gay scene as fab as that anymore ;-)

  • Because DJs stopped playing decent records. But as "Disco 2008" proves, I'm still making them.

  • Anyone want to buy the 12" single for The Love I Lost?

I have the vinyl with original pic sleeve in mint condition. It has three versions of this song on it (extended remix, 12" mix and 12" dub).

Let me know if it is worth anything...thanks!

  • thank you so much for posting this, it is my favorite version of the song , and I miss seventh ave. I have been looking for these for years.

  • i hate the video .love the record who was the lead singer on the track i throught it was mark long who performed it in manchester bolts

  • After "Love's Gone Mad", which was sung by Steven Harper, every single Seventh Avenue record was sung by Alan Carvell, who never actually appeared live with the group. The lineup changed loads of times but the session vocals remained the same.

  • the video was crap .the record was excellent but he wasnt the lead singer mark long was if i remember when i seen them in manchester bolts

  • Mark Long never really sang lead, he just remained with the group the longest, from 1986 right up until 1991.

  • Ah! Seventh Avenue. I loved this incarnation and was particularly transfixed by the Standing By Your Side 12", what was on the cover and inside!

  • I was in Germany in the 80's, in my 20's so of course in the disco every weekend...and the only Seventh Avenue song I recall was Love's Gone Mad. This is a nice video and nice song. I'll check out the others. Thank you for posting this.

  • "Won't stop movin' to the music 'til the dawn; tomorrow is another day and we'll be reborn!"

  • Was there ever a video to Standing By Your Side and No Man's Land?

  • Sadly no. But it makes my heart proud that there are still people who remember these records. Thankyou.

  • I was a huge fan of them in HK and I even bought 3 different 12" remixes of Love's Gone Mad ... and I really loved their later stuff ... shame there weren't videos to go with these great singles. Good work nonetheless.

  • "Life is turning our way - in L. A. AT THE END OF THE DAY..... "

  • How fabulous that someone remembers that.

  • this reminds me of years gone bye, when i thought the summer would go on forever in Strathpeffer, with my love from Contin. she used to work in the tourest information shop.

  • Must say I love their version of "Everlasting love"

  • Any chance putting up the Miami Heatwave/Midnight in Manhattan/New York's on Fire even if its just the songs ? they were great tracks...

  • Sorry but I only put proper videos up. People know, when they come to my page here, they can see over two hundred proper real legitimate videos of my work, not just still pics over an audio track. I pride myself on these videos and I won't compromise for anything or anyone.

  • Did Love's Gone Mad get a video? That's my favourite track of theirs. Can't belive I never realised they turned into Big Fun before!

  • Yes and I put it up here on YouTube. They then changed lineup into what became Big Fun, but those guys weren't on Love's Gone Mad, even though they performed it in their shows.

  • Thanks for the reply. Yeah, I found Love's Gone Mad now. Just wondering, did you get the title from Chris Clark's Love's Gone Bad by any chance (I think some copies had misprinted labels that said Love's Gone Mad?)

  • You are quite correct, and yes I did.

  • Any chance of putting up "Midnight in Manhattan" video?? That was a hugh hit!!!

  • I wish had one. It was made in 1979 and we didn't shoot videos back then.

  • Keep making this kind of music, with the kind of music that is coming out nowadays, this is wonderful recharge for all dance music listeners like me. There is a market out there for this kind of music, especially in latin America, Asia and especially Europe. Is Evelyn(my head is in the stars) Thomas still active?

    Thank you.

  • Evelyn lives in Florida.

I continue to make great classic dance music. Please check out the new album, Northern Soul 2007. There's a trailer for it on my YouTube page.

  • Great! I will check it out. Thanks.

  • Excellt track and video. Well done again Ian.

  • Nice try. It just doent cut it. To try to make it contemporary they made it more up tempo. The "mad" drum beats are irritating and over powering. The guys voice is good. In the original Teddys voice was showcased. They should have changed the mix. Just my opinion.

  • It's a bit late now to say it doesn't cut it, when the record is twenty years old, and was released by Atlantic Records in America, and was a mega huge dancefloor hit there in the 1980s.

  • I was a 12'' singles buyer at Tower Records in Nashville Tennessee when this was out and I could NEVER keep it in stock! I loved this track, I loved all the Seventh Avenue stuff...wish I had it on CD so badly!

  • Is this the same Seventh Avenue who had that awesome disco track "Miami Heatwave"? I LOVE that song! Was there ever a video for it?

  • Thanks for the answer, i did not about that and also thanks for the great high energy music that you have made. By the way I love the song from velvette-Nothing is worse than being alone, such an ass kicking song.

  • just love 7th ave

did two of them come back as big fun?

  • They did indeed. They tried to use the name Seventh Avenue till I stopped them.

  • Why?

  • Because I created the name, there had been lineup changes over the years, and they had no legal right whatsoever to try to steal the name off me.
