  • The way I was tought in the Army was to come in with your hands (under his arms) and deflect his out. Then hit him in the neck with both hands.

  • dis guy kinda looks and talks like frank mir

  • junk...take his eyes...softer target...works on everyone.

  • Yeah these people are profesionals man, better than you

  • ok ok

  • if the guy is strong this technique doesn't work sorry but is true ,go with a trowing technique...

  • nice Technique :D i really like it :P

  • In my aikido dojo, I've not been taught this technique (yet), but just from how he's performing it, I'm certain it's effective.

  • i really want to try rhat out -- hehehe - i will test it on my brother xD

  • does anybody know whats that choke hold called, the one you apply pressure at a big artery around the shoulder area and the person instantly faints?

  • @worldatmyfingertips7 There are several techniques for applying pressure on the carotid artery. None will cause your aggressor to "instantly" faint, but they will progressively lose any lucid thought/the ability to react until unconsciousness.

  • @wildbill6976 So, what mr Spock does to put people to sleep is just fantasy? lol. I actually thought that karate experts were capable of doing that though but I guess there's no such technique, is there? tky

  • once I saw in a movie the guy on the choke broke it by hitting on the elbows using only his forearm in one fast strong downward blow I guess that works, as long as you strike at the elbows in the bending direction but I don't know if it's a good technique

  • شكراً

  • thnks sir im chris tellermo from philippines, i also study a martial arts here in our place, your demonstration and techniques helps a lot. we dont have aikido in our place i just watch your vidoes. tnx

  • JUST PUNCH HIM IN THE THROAT CASE CLOSED HE WILL LET GO FOR GOOD

  • @foxybrown2 akido isnt the denfending person using power, its about redirecting the opponents energy to use it against them

  • @foxybrown2 What if he dies?? You r gonna be sent to prison and ur life will be worthless... If you just make him unable to move it would be better than listening 10 years from the Judge right?

  • @foxybrown2 I guess you might not want to do that unless your life is threatened only then try to even kill the other guy. Like if they're trying to kidnap you or something for example

  • stupid

  • Brilliant, it's always good to se a master with the right mindset using correct principles, regardless of style. Keep up the good work!

  • pretty good.. wont work if the enemy is musceling too hard..

  • @pmsgesine if it works enough just to loosen his choke slightly it opens up other avenues like the good old fashioned knee up the nuts, stamp on the foot, eye gouge etc etc. All our old friends are there and we should be prepared to use them all, things like this are there to bring our old friends into play.

  • If you want to see a real good techniqe than watch out for this: Aikido master - Shihan Tissier - Iriminage

one technique only but very good. Look at the hips! THE importantn thing in Aikido.

  • I am now a 3rd degree black belt in expert village aikido. Who wants some?

  • Far from it! These videos are very helpful for a beginner of Aikido and the best I find here.

  • Agreed

  • True....

  • (sorry for my english) I am finnish so my english isnt perfect :)

  • For those who does not get it. First have to understand and know the technique before gettin all exited and KO'ing your friends and others. This video only shows you how its done and teaches how its done. When you master even half of all the techniques in aikido I bet that you will do just fine in regular 3-to-1 street fight. I have done well 2-to-1 with just Muay Thai. And muay thai is very simple, also very predictuble when compared to aikido.

  • Terve. You are right. This is just a "help" for demonstration. but this is not Aikido at all. Aikido is very difficult, footsteps, HIPS, very important. shoulder etc. and the most important things is the Ki. In Aikido you move like a 8. And, my Sensei told me, "if you practice one technique 10.000 times then you can say that you know this technique. But that means also that the technique must be complete from beginning till the end. Practice is important, not this here. Hey hey.

  • Your sensei said very well! I am just half way to 5th kyu and I have allready found useful techniques in aikido. I really havent mastered them yet but I am going to do so, included "all" techniques, its a long and hard road, but I have faith to it :D Nice to have positive replies every once in a while :D

  • It's very refreshing to hear somebody being able to be critical about there own style but I would say applicationwise, Muay Thai might well be one of the best systems out there as you practice your techniques in a very realistic manner.

  • i do mma if this were on the street and ur life was in danger u need something more sure fire like the dude below me said if the gye is strong that wont make him let go ass soon as he has his hand on ur throat ui want to swing ur arms from the down position up to his arms and hit them if it breaks great but u still from their want to put ur hads behind his head and get into a Maui Tia clitch, swing his head down while u force ur knee though that i assure u will break the grip if not ko his ass

  • Another clear video from this very useful series

  • Nothin against this, but I train in some MMA and I've tried different forms of break away techs. and the problem with this action and some others is if your opponent or attacker is stronger than you he will sustain the choke. I feel the best way to break a choke is a chin down weight counter measure while driving in to your op. or att., this will allow you to break the grip more readily and allow you to throw a knee or a upper cut while promoting an offensive defense. and it truly works.

  • Look, I'm going to say this, because it needs to be said.

In real life, people who are mad at you--and want to kill you--will not stand there gently holding your neck while you try some lame move.

In the real world, when a man is furious, he'll grab your neck, slam you into whatever they can slam you into, then use every bit of physical force and weight to choke the life right out of you. That's what they do. It is violent and disturbing--and nothing like what you see in this video.

  • redbeetle you are right, but in this video you can see the base to a better tehnique,a technique which can defeat the kind of attack you are talking about.

  • and thats why i do jiu-jitsu

  • And that's why ur not dumb enough and perform Demonstration speeded counter-attacks

    Nice trolling jack

  • I tried this on my friend and it didn't work

  • Then you did it wrong. I knew this technique from before and I told my friend to use all his strength to choke me. I hit both his ulnae nerves (you are supposed to hit them although the video doesn't say) and he buckled and dropped to his knees. He had no chance of retaining his choke and his posture. If it is important I am a 3rd Kyu Aikido-ka.

  • I think you need to hit the upper side of the elbow, as demonstrated.

    It's a weak spot.

  • Hiiiiiiiiiiieeeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyaaaaaaaa!!!!!

  • I second that

  • I whant to learn aikido

  • i agree...this was done smoothly and properly....if u try this technique u probably should not try to do the headbutt....it isnt effective, i mean u get hurt also, a good shove should do, if he then starts to grab u, u can always try an ikkyo

but as i said before...it was a proper demonstration of that technique

    :)

  • damn what a great illustration of the atemi technique. very effective

  • I agree. I have sent people to check this technique out because I feel he does a great job of explaining this atemi. Though I prefer a more aggressive approach at times, it is most important to understand the way of harmony and NOT purposely injure at first if at all possible.

  • It's a joy to see an aikido player use atemi. I have witness many thinking atemi is not a necessary part of combat. In short, good work.
