every single offroading video i watch has at least one (and most of the time many) fuck tards moaning about 4x4s ruining the country. when there's only a small percentage that cars are allowed on. its a right of way. get over it and if it bothers you that much stay the fuck off the byways or write a letter to someone who gives a shit. like discovery2td5 i am always courteous to bicycles and pedestrians etc and go out of my way to let them passed. and for what? a dirty look or a tut.

So now how would you get rescued?

ok fine, close all the LEGAL tracks to 4 wheel drives, and make them all for walkers and bikers and enduro riders. But just before you do this, if you fall of your bike or trip up whilst you are on one of these lanes and you cannot make it back, How do you expect to be rescued then exactly.

love the videos i'm heading to the lake district in a few weeks in my 110. can you recommend any green lanes. there will just be one vehicle, me don't want to go any lanes where i might get stuck. i'm from northern ireland no green lanes here.

its ok for you "numpty's" to tear up the countryside on your dirty old smelly trail bikes, which incidently do far more damage to the countryside than ANY 4x4 does. Your more of a danger to walkers etc due to the irresponsible speeds you do.....see it all the time!!!

It's also perfectly legal to drive these tracks, and has been for YEARS......and what you see in this video for example, is by no means "extreme" lol.......

these are roads, which were not made for motorised traffic, there are places for you to go where you are not in every one elses way, please dont comment on my intelligence as it isnt me who is driving a vehical on a track which were used for horse and carts which are clearly being damaged by 4x4s hence the two big ruts either side! how could a horse safely travel along this trail after you selfish peolple have ruined it?

To be honest, I very rarely find myself in ANYONE else's way, and "if" thats the case Im happy to sit and wait for, dog, walker, or biker to pass by before carrying on. There is less than about 5% of these lanes that can be driven in the UK, that gives the "rest" a whole lot more to choose from than "we" can, yet the likes of you want that tiny little bit to yourselves as well...........

dont be daft..........that will only increase the number of those who do it illegally, and will stop the likes of mountain rescue teams, emergency services, utility services and farmers and a whole load of others............great idea!!!

They can and DO get managed if all who use them do it together..........but even that would not satisfy some would it!!

@Discovery2TD5 well said mate,you've hit the nail on the head there,i do the same and allways give way to walkers etc,its very rare you get a thankyou though,all they ever do is tut at you and pull faces,but like you say they've got a hell of a lot more choices of where they can enjoy there pastimes,and if the sight of a 4x4 disgusts them that much why dont they stick to the miles and miles of footpaths they have access to

You are quite right it's perfectly legal, in some places. But then so was bear baiting and dog fighting once. The fact that it's legal doesn't mean it's right! In fact many of you completely ignore the law and drive on lanes and tracks where you have never had a legal right of access. It all comes down to the fact that if you can get away with having a bit of fun then you will do it no matter what the damage to the environment and the legitimate right of others.

Again, you are tarring all with the same brush, and obviously cannot have an intelligent discussion or provide a valid argument about it. An awful lot of these lanes are used by farmers to access their land, 1 !! just 1 tractor can destroy a lane and make it very difficult to pass for even 4x4's, so I suppose you would exlcude them as well ? as its something you "drive".

Your arguement of damage to the enviroment is just rubbish , the THOUSANDS of walkers do just as much, but that's ok yes?

its a well documented FACT my friend and if you "search" the web you will see there are MANY groups of "us" who go out and repair "green lanes" all throughout the year, and the damage as you so call it is quite often caused by "Other" users. If there is likely to be damaged caused, then "most" of us WONT drive the lanes when they are in poor condition...... I did not notice ANY damaged casued in this particular video........did you ?..........

as a matter of fact when you cant make it up the steps i have witnessed drivers putting rocks there to help, which are a danger to mountain bikers and enduro riders and would be lethal to a horses

@fred8white I an a keen climber, mountain biker, and Land Rover owner and Driver. My girlfriend rides bikes and horses and drives greenlanes with me. I took my old Series 3 down this lane about 2 years back, it allowed a very old friend to see a little of the countryside he used to help manage 60 years ago. If you wan't to know more about how we conduct ourselves consult GLASS or the Trail Riders Federation.

99% are very responsible people! Who are you trying to kid. Just visit the North York Moors forest tracks where it is illegal and see the damage done by 4wd vehicles.

You lot are 99% irresponsible! If you want to use a 4wd then drive it on the public highways or go to a disused airfield where you won't be damaging the environment and spoiling it for others using it legitimately.

99% of People who drive greenlanes are very responsible and won't / dont drive them if they are in poor condition, which also conincides with the fact a large percentage are closed to vehicles during certain times of the year. So what you say is not true and typical of somone who thinks their interest is the only one that should be allowed.

The percentage of public rights of way still able to be driven is TINY compared with those open to only walkers etc........there is enough for everyone
