Some of these foods have built-in pesticides and herbicides. When you eat the food, you are eating the pesticides and herbicides. Ever wonder what is causing the current surge in diabetes and high blood pressure?
@CouldNotCareLes I should have said "built in bug repellent" instead. Researchers have created plants that kill insects by disrupting their gene expression. This is worse than using herbicides or pesticides. Scientists have also genetically modified sweet corn so that it produces a poison which kills harmful insects. What will it do to our genes? The scientists say it won't hurt us but they always say that.
@ratkillerinparadise I guess I would rather risk ingesting a naturally occurring soil bacterium (Bacillus thuringiensis) than the myriad of insecticides that have been used on cereal crops since the 1930's.
Have you ever handled a synthetic insecticide? Just mixing one tank of Asana would leave me shaking for the rest of the day. Now, thanks to GMOs, no one uses it anymore.
Canola......? I thought canola was good for you. I use it to cook my fish all the time. Maybe I better look at olive oil or safflower...........thanks
You'd be surprised, even Olive Oil is extremely bad to Cook with. It gets rancid very fast, it's only good in cold form.
Lard, Butter, Coconut oil are ideal for pan frying, as well as bacon grease. It sounds like the complete opposite of what we've been told, but it's the truth.
Fish (haddock etc...) dipped in a mixture of buckwheat and Millet flour and fried in organic butter is a really great way to cook. Lots of flavor. Coconut oil is also great for cooking seafood. Adds a pleasant taste. It's also the most heat stable of all the fats. Good for you, too.
Buy organic and/or locally grown foods because conventional food is nutritionally deficient and is the cause of increased cancer rates. what I'm saying is common knowledge to people who inform themselves about the truth. if you doubt what I'm saying, look it up yourself.
this is how i see the game is. politicians are businessmen paid to protect the government, and made to keep people to have faith in government. the government is there to create laws for the capitalists , so that they can make their profits off the exploitation of labor. so in other words. fuck the government. we don't need leaders. we can lead ourselves without them. and fuck their profit making game. So, its obivous that the government gets to decide what companies stay in business and which ones don't. This is what i was trying to get you to talk about, do you agree with the process? I would say yes you do.
Ok, in the movie it shows that the Bush sr deregulated the process so they didn't have to have as much testing. Please just watch the movie. I can't explain it in 500 characters.
If your statement was true about government deciding what company stays and goes, there wouldn't be lobbyists and campaign funding by large corporations.
In order for you to see what I see, you will have to do 2 things. 1 watch the movie, 2 read a book on memetics.
when she said there are numerous concerns, what she meant to say was there is a lot of stuff that gets blown out of proportion by people who don't understand science
There is a difference in plants between changing a single nucleotide base and moving in whole genes from another organism. Both are called GMOs, but one is ridiculously more intrusive and potentially dangerous then the other.
wow Visfen is having a fit... lol... we'll see what they say when he/she is on dialysis for a failing kidney after too High Fructose Corn Syrup... lol
Some were pushed through without through and proper testing.
Second, monsanto owns a patent on most of the GMO's in which mate with nonGMO organic plants and turn those seeds into the Monsanto GMO patented seed. So if they plant them, Monsanto files lawsuits on the farm and shuts it down or forces them to buy into the monsanto business. GMO's would be great if greed and control wasn't the driving force behind it.
Theres nothing wrong with them owning their product, problem being, their product is set up to monopolize the market which, is illegal. And do you really want a company like monsanto that has been caught time and time again lying about how safe their products are owning all the food in the world?
"Do you have something against intellectual property rights?"
No, but inst Monsanto infringing on the rights of others by changing the structure of the plants people are trying to grow. They should be sued for manipulating people crops. Its a form of vandalism.
I don't have enough (if any) information about this specific topic you've brought up to challenge it, i would simply say, if monsanto is altering other peoples property then claiming it as their own afterward, that is a clear example of the necessity of government to mitigate contracts and protect individuals against fraud and theft. The problem is, our government has its fingers in so many places it shouldn't be, it can't even do the very very small list of things it SHOULD be doing properly.
"their product is set up to monopolize the market which, is illegal."
There is no such thing as a monopoly in a free market, the only way a monopoly can exist is through government manipulation of the market.
Do I want a lying company owning all the food in the world....?
Well, who leaves their food on the shelves in America? You can't sell s**t in America w/o the governments stamp of approval. So who should we blame? The corrupt company? Or the government that keeps them in business?
There is no independent research on GMO's because Congress has made impossible to do research on GMO's unless you have the permission of the GMO manufacturer. Guess what, they don't give it. They really should not allow a food product to go on the shelf that has no transparency whatsoever.
For now, Whole Foods is moving towards natural brands instead of USDA Organic brands. Natural doesn't mean anything according to US standards, while USDA Organic has strict standards which they are suppose to follow. Why is Whole Foods moving towards Natural which would lower it's standards to nothing. I like Whole Foods for some products, but I think that they are becoming the Walmart of health food. Soon we will have to avoid them if they continue on this path.
personally, i try to avoid things why are high in pesticides and overly priced and likely to rot more quickly amongst organic things. its great to be organic but as a single person i often can't eat something before it goes bad and pay a higher price to boot.
my point is that there are companies that have tighter standards on food than the FDA. if we had no FDA, we would get private entities providing the same function for those that want it
many studies have shown that gmo food introduces foreign protiens into the body that damage organs...allergic reactions and death have been noted also. they are not safe...they just take a long time to kill you
Buying local is not sure to be more environmentally friendly or better for you.
I did a study where I compared local farmers milk with that of the largest producer in the country, Arla. We found out that Arla is actually more environmentally friendly because the dairy for the local milk is so far away that it basically is transported twice the range as big biz milk.
The fact is that all food we eat has been at least genetically selected over 9000 years
You don't see a problem!!!! You must be part of the problem. So it is ok to crossbreed salmon and strawberries? Just so you know WE THE PEOPLE are on to your' NWO. Have a nice day.

Yes, I don't see the problem, which might have something to do with the fact that I'm a scientist and we believe in facts - not conspiracies.
Crosbreed salmon and strawberries, haha, yeah if you're serious you don't know what GMO even is.
We already have extensively genetically selected food, what is the problem there? Should we go back to eating banans, coco beans, wheat and corn found in the wild? Billions would starve.
There is countless evidence to support the idea that gmo food is very dangerous for our health. Better believe that the military industrial complex manipulates agriculture to suit their ends. Monsanto has bribed many nations into overlooking evidence of cancerous effects and more so that there product would be placed on our shelves. We were not given the information by the media so we got used to eating poison. It is our fault and the video here says EAT LOCALLY - KNOW YOUR FARMER thats change
Okay fact. Monsanto seeds are designed to be poison resistant. Fact poison is sprayed on them. End result the public isnt poison resistant and consumes it. People are starving now because governement take over of farm lands and price fixing to force farmers to drop growing crops due to cost of production and overpriced seeds. It is a monopoly.
Tip: wash the fucking plants before you eat them hippie, or better yet. Don't eat it at all! I don't have a problem with it, you do, fine, use your choice and a consumer.
So GMO is to blame for what the government does now. Wow, you drones are really going over board with this.
Man this is a non issue. This is like people whining about a brand of toilet paper being too rough. Just don't fucking use it, what is the problem?
Yeah, I'm responding to the hippies that went on a tantrum against me for expressing my opinion that buying local isn't sure to be the best idea and that all food is at least genetically selected.
The government has no right to subsidize anything.
Hippies pisses me of. People without job, prospect, education or ambition that preach their conspiracies and throw dirt at anyone who doesn't believe in their twisted pathetic world view.
Well lets see... RoundUp ready soy and corn for example. They used bacteria resistant to the herbicide genes and included them in the plants. Wonderful! All the food safety test were bypassed and no one knows what the longterm
effects. You think this can be compared with selected food?! And you say you are a scientist. Oh boy I guess you have to go back to the study os the scientific method. You might just try eat organic for a while and see the diference. Good luck with your ignorance.
When I switched over to eating organic after about 8 months I noticed that if I ate produce that used pesticides, I can taste the pesticides, it's sort of a metallic taste, very disgusting.
Yes, it can definitely be compared with selected food. If you do not understand that then you don't know how much the food we have selected over generation has changed.
I don't even eat selected food because the nutrition is so much lower, but I have no problem whatsoever with letting companies grow and develop GMO.
You alex jones crazies need to go the fuck away. Crazy hippies that are making it impossible for people to get trough facts that are in line with some of the thing he bring up.
You'll need to do some research on this as I think she's on the right track. They use one organism and mix with another. Not natural at all - not like grafting or saving and selecting from one crop yield to another. Many scientist around the world and native people warn against these product. The likes of Monsanto are suspect for profit motive only. We need to care for the earth and humanity as we are in and on this earth together.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Mix with another? No, that is not at all what they do. They alter the genetic structure trough genetic engineering, making it possible to grow wheat in the desert, bananas in winter climate and so on.
It is not natural to live in huge cities, but we do it because to wield nature to our benefit.
Who cares if they do it for profit motive, profit motive is a great motive.
The only problem I see is when GMO is not maintained and control and spread in the wild.
By altering genetic structure its vitamin propertys and such are also altered. Insect resistance means it doesnt digest well with humans. Because you making an abundance of it with no nutricianal value starves people. At a profit.
GMO and monsanto are trying to get control over our food supply not help develop A better seed. That's what they designed the terminator seed for, control.
gmos are not allowed in europe. it is absolutely disgusting that it is in all of the food in the usa. organic food is more expensive and "they" know this too!! and, ofcourse, just like with chemtrails, the PEOPLE of the usa are not told. this is genocide and it is evil. i try and buy organic foods as much as possible but it is not easy.
Yes. I have an unfair advantage now that I live on acreage. But even when I lived in an apartment I grew tomatoes and peppers figuring every little bit helps.
I'm way behind schedule this year due to having moved last month but the eggplant are just now ready and the tomatoes are blooming. Trying to grow some late okra and just started planting fall garden - collards and chard first but more to come in the next few weeks.
Excellent vid. Introducing things that are non native has a long history and many disasters. In australia they introduced rabbits, there was a plague of rabbits so the introduced foxes to control them and the foxes ate the marsupials opps! Then in the UK we have rampent Rhododendrons and Giant Hogweed both escaped from cultivation. So if folks are worried about the environment GMO may be more dangerous than a gas that plants need to grow.
my local farmer hates me...his daughter loves me..so does his wife....and his sheep...

The government running it, is what makes it bad.
The "Nanny State" takes away all of our "Tough" choices like, who to buy food from, if we trust the product, ect...
we have a government agency to protect us from bad food! ...
Turns normal citizens into drones.
Then we blame the scientists and researchers that give us enhanced food as the bad guys.
Sounds like a good deal to me if i'm the government middle man.

Visfen 2 years ago
that's exactly what the vid is about.. choosing not to use certain products. what's your problem?
if your talking about people talking about the gov.. the gov has no right to use our money to subsidize a certain type of food.
you seem miserable.
letsridetricycles 2 years ago
Yeah, I'm responding to the hippies that went on a tantrum against me for expressing my opinion that buying local isn't sure to be the best idea and that all food is at least genetically selected.
The government has no right to subsidize anything.
Hippies pisses me of. People without job, prospect, education or ambition that preach their conspiracies and throw dirt at anyone who doesn't believe in their twisted pathetic world view.
Visfen 2 years ago
Well lets see... RoundUp ready soy and corn for example. They used bacteria resistant to the herbicide genes and included them in the plants. Wonderful! All the food safety test were bypassed and no one knows what the longterm
effects. You think this can be compared with selected food?! And you say you are a scientist. Oh boy I guess you have to go back to the study os the scientific method. You might just try eat organic for a while and see the diference. Good luck with your ignorance.

When I switched over to eating organic after about 8 months I noticed that if I ate produce that used pesticides, I can taste the pesticides, it's sort of a metallic taste, very disgusting.
rayme4raw 2 years ago
Yes, it can definitely be compared with selected food. If you do not understand that then you don't know how much the food we have selected over generation has changed.
I don't even eat selected food because the nutrition is so much lower, but I have no problem whatsoever with letting companies grow and develop GMO.
You alex jones crazies need to go the fuck away. Crazy hippies that are making it impossible for people to get trough facts that are in line with some of the thing he bring up.

You are full of shit.

Visfen 2 years ago
By altering genetic structure its vitamin propertys and such are also altered. Insect resistance means it doesnt digest well with humans. Because you making an abundance of it with no nutricianal value starves people. At a profit.
Squirelbutt 2 years ago 2
So you admit you are full of it.
GMO and monsanto are trying to get control over our food supply not help develop A better seed. That's what they designed the terminator seed for, control.
Wake Up! You are not A scientist.

That was worded extremely well, BGBurch.

people wonder why cancer is the #1 killer in N.America.
Lobbyists control North America, and we allow them to poison the average population that can't afford the organic stores.

gmos are not allowed in europe. it is absolutely disgusting that it is in all of the food in the usa. organic food is more expensive and "they" know this too!! and, ofcourse, just like with chemtrails, the PEOPLE of the usa are not told. this is genocide and it is evil. i try and buy organic foods as much as possible but it is not easy.
thanks for this info

#5: Grow your own food, at least some of it.
RCinPAWA 2 years ago 3
Do you?
notscooter952 2 years ago
Yes. I have an unfair advantage now that I live on acreage. But even when I lived in an apartment I grew tomatoes and peppers figuring every little bit helps.
RCinPAWA 2 years ago
I just picked 4 tomatoes and three foot long cucumbers yesterday. Peppers aren't ready yet though.
notscooter952 2 years ago
