He eased off his economically destructive policies during the course of WWII, and the American people, out of desperation, patriotism, or both, actively participated in the war's industrial movement. Roosevelt had nothing to do with it. Want to know how long a recession would generally usually last from start to finish? 1-2 years. The Great Depression lasted 14 years.
