You protesters were the ones to blame, stop acting like crying children you charged the police wall and launched abuse, in the end they're people like you, they were called to work to observe a protest and you treat them like crap.
I wonder if he actually believes it himself, how bizarre! The cops have not improved at all since the miners' strike, the sooner they are privatised the better. Lying coppers like this should be on the dole or out selling the big issue.
Well done on getting this vid. The bit at the end with the officer 'reporting' how officers had been kicked repeatedly when they fell over ropes is an interesting one! What a disgrace.
Unfortunately, this year was worse. Not in terms of police violence on the day, but in terms of the disgraceful way in which the Kent Chief Constable ran his operation, which I would describe as ignorant, bigoted and racist (requiring names of people with a foreign accent!)
Haha! Classic childish and uninformed insults. The vid is from last year, by the way. This year, yes, it was MoD land rented to a farmer. It is legal to squat, section 6 Criminal Law Act 1977, makes it illegal to enter with use or threat of violence, which this year they clearly did. Un-educated twats? I have a PhD in Climate Change policy. There is a protester charged with "disrupting the running of the power station by causing the water inlet system to be closed down"reply? MrSmith1984
I just hoped and wished that the M.O.D who actually owned that land, suddenly decided on an impromptu tank training exercise!! The fact is, that the protestors broke the law by squatting on that land and all the information the Police had was that they intended to break the law again by breaking into the Power Station. IMO I would have had to had the patience of a saint to deal with un-educated twats like some of the protestors clearly were
For the ignorant amongst you, the field was a legally squatted field, the police had no right to enter, for the rest of the camp the were escorted round site in twos, an idiot sergeant decided to make a 'show of force' (penis) and they were non-violently ejected, as is a right in UK law. This year they have brought 1400 riot police, horses and helicopter. Little cowards...
The moron protesters are lucky they live in a country with such tolerant police. Could you imagine any other police force which would allow such behavior towards them?
the people in that video loved being at that camp as i meant they didn't have to wash, something they are all for. "No to pollution no to washing, no to pollution no to washing" was their chant.
Why were the police there? Did they have a legitimate reason for trying to enter the camp? Why were the protesters keeping the police out? Did they have something to hide?
see my replies below for some context. UK law has 'squatters' rights' since 1977. If a place is your home, and has some sort of boundary, then it is illegal for anyone to use or threaten force to get in. They had nothing to hide, particularly this year, police set up a 'stop and search' order covering the entire district unde which anyone could be searched for weapons, for no reason. 60-yr old local is on TV saying he was searche 3 times in one trip from his house and back. Police state uk 2008!
Thanks for the information! I have to admit it sounds odd, but I live in the U.S., where the police basically do what they want, when they want, and if you don't like it, you get tasered, pepper sprayed, or hit with clubs.
Of course, I'm only describing the legal reality, the reality on the ground is more like what you describe, minus tasers at the moment...search for climate camp 2008 and see what happened this year...

In any other country the police would have used tear gas and or bullets. The life long career students and protesters need to wake up. Protest is good but how you conduct yourself can detract from the cause. Listen to the anger and foul language, not from police but the peaceful, fuzzy wuzzy protesters.
In the U.S. those police would be armed, and bloodshed would follow. Then the media would say the violence had been provoked, while the police were only defending themselves.
what fucking lies the cop reporting bout them being kicked etc he should get life

I was hasassed by the fit, followed for no reason other than exercising my right to protest the death of a 15 year old boy from greece.
The murder in greece was only the beginning, police around the world wont stop killing.

Although the police were completely wrong for doing what they did, you guys are lucky..
In The US (where I live), they shot my in a forehead and beat my girlfriend bloody while we both held peace signs.
Keep on keeping on, though.

Squatting a field? Interesting legal concept.

Ah, a cop. See you in casualty Mr Smith!

Or someone who studies law. The only time the police will be in casualty if when they have to escort some moron who has injured themselves.
What was the objective again? Close the power station down. They really got close to that didn't they? Ha.
