  • loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool red one vs my sony nex 3 looooooooooooooooooooool stupid video

  • "Under exposer is better then over exposer."

  • So now you just get an ND filter and you'r done.

  • i would like to see the red vs the canon c300

  • If you don't want your red, i will happily take it !

  • The Red produces footage much more suitable for colour correction. Also, even uncorrected it looks more cinematic.

  • pekná babenka, ale to je asi všetko

  • is you drop this iso on the 5D and hold a steady shot it can look almost as good as the red.

  • even underexposed the Red one looks better lol

  • LEARN HOW TO EXPOSE!

  • Different focal length + under/over-exposed = fail

  • WHERE ARE YOURS DUDE? - LOL - YOU ARE A JOKE - ITS PATHETIC

  • @Ajkeb100 - Really... so folks who were born in the digital age, lets say 100 years from now, despite making fantastic movies, because they never used FILM they are inexperienced. You are such a tool man, seriously, turn your computer off - you hate digital tech anyway, go learn morse code, and transmit all your thought using analogue technology. Use smoke signals, whatever. Its like saying you cant learn to type on a PC and you have to learn on a typewriter. Go drink some stop bath mim

  • lol at the thumbs down

  • @Ajkeb100 Jesus calm down you little troll loser, where are yours????? haha you have nothing on your page! Grow up and shoot something! Well Ryan is doing what he loves making money from it and entertaining millions, so that's successful. And asshole, who said i don't know how film works? Look little guy, you can pretend like you play with the big boys and get left behind while the rest of us make it happen. Learn to spell by the way...retard! :D End of!

  • @Stevehallvideo - Nicely said - Thanks for joining the fight, this little prick is annoying as hell! Those who cant do, teach - and he decided to teach in a way he cant even capitalize on it, or to a welcome crowd, i actually feel sorry for Ajkeb100, he knows so little and talks so much. If he only knew how ret... you know what, I was going to call him retarded, but I don't want to offend retarded people LOL.

  • @Ajkeb100 Danny Boyle, Canon XL1 28 days later. the guys who did crank, now doing ghost rider 2, Irish film 'Once' shot on a mini DV handy cam, nominated for an Oscar. So by your theory if i give a person a Gibson les paul that they can automatically shred and play like a pro. if someone buys me great tools i can build a house. The tools help but they aren't what makes someone good, knowledge and understanding and experiences(good and bad)are what makes a good film maker. grow up,stop trolling

  • @Stevehallvideo - Yes exactly. I wasn't going to talk to Ajkeb100 anymore because.. well.. you should never argue with an idiot, right? LOL. Evidence, proof, examples, they don't count to these RED followers. I saw a great short by Vincent Larofet, called Mobius.. Its a must see. Hey AJKEB, look up that video if you need an example. Look what can be done with just a couple of grand and edit on your PC... do you need more than this? Would red be as easy to get in tight spots?

  • two words: dynamic range

  • @martinpeca2 - he reported you as spam because he didn't like how dumb it made him look. What a child. I unflagged your comment - you are 100 percent correct.

  • @Ajkeb100- I can see by your unsupported, unsubstantiated post that you finally did a google search and didn't like what you see.My posts give more than enough information to someone who is researching this issue. For an idiot who thinks the earth is flat I have no more time.If you have facts and figures reply,if you reply without them I will ignore you because you are a waste of time. All you have proven is that people who want RED to be used are trying to convince clients and themselves.Shameless

  • offended? Then try to make a valid argument.Im not going to sugar coat things for you.You want to challenge my comment, come with facts not "gut feelings".Bring facts and figures into this argument-but I warn you, you will not like the end result.Especially when I already said at the beginning of the discussion that RED is superior (technically speaking at the moment).Even experts have a hard time telling what type of camera was used, and they are looking for subtle cues.Gap is shriking, nuff said

  • @Ajkeb100 - If you believe that you are an idiot, which explains your narrow minded simple posts. You think that a super 8 has the resolution greater than a bluray? Let me put it to you this way - a 35mm negative has the effective resolution of 8MP. Super 8 is a fraction of this. While in theory there is no limit to the resolution to film - but there is. Think lp or Line Pairs.

  • @Ajkeb100 - Just like the model T, digital was a step back... for the car it was speed, for film vs. digital it is resolution and dynamic range. The exciting part is that the gap is shrinking, faster than ever now. Imagine a world where anyone can make a quality feature film if they have the vision, the story, the creativity. It is these three things that engross movie magic, its the talent - not the equipment.. thats just a tool. Which is why DSLR's are so amazing. soon the gap wont exist!

  • @Ajkeb100 - Same argument regarding Super8 vs VHS, DVD, BluRay? How about still using coal in onboard furnaces to power trains. Perhaps we should never have stopped riding horses and passed on the internal combustion engine and cars. Just as when the Model T was not as fast as a horse when it came out - but cars today are faster than horses - so too will digital photography surpass film SOMEDAY. But I agree, Film today (currently) is much better (albeit more expensive and difficult)

  • The highlights are a little blown in the 5D. Maybe a ND Filter could balance them out? Prob due to the extra light sensitivity of the 5D.

Much prefer look of Red One i must say in this comparison. Would love to see the "look" replicated as close as possible in the 5D

  • artifacts on the canon 5d and the red has a cinematic tone for some reason thanks for this video

  • Well if he used the 5D MK II correctly, it would look better, and (almost) keep up with the red 1's picture.. But let's not dwell at that.. Cause the Red cameras are the best any day, and it's all a matter of how you use it

  • give me the RED any day..

  • exposure realy looww lolzz :D on red mayynngg

  • The Dynamic range of the red is impressive :D

  • red one shoots a flat image, that is good because when you edit your vids you have more detail when you add contrast and etc. canon 5D is good too but not better than red camera. canon 5D automatically add contrast brightness etc and image not look "cool".

  • I like red's footage much more.

  • this comparison is like having a 2011 Ferrari running along with a 2011 Honda in the city at 35Mph.

  • Worst comparison ever!!

  • That girl is cute.

Stop worrying about which camera you have people. Spend time on your scripts because most independent films SUCK ASS and aren't even watchable.

  • Just a guess but the red was probably 1/48 or 1/50 (180 degree shutter) while the canon was set 1/100? and why would you set it to 1/100 anyway??

  • What a terrible comparison. Didn't do the 5D justice. Totally overexposed and too much contrast.

  • RED Scarlet Hire UK

  • The 5DII is great, but don't try grading or doing any crops of the footage though.

REDs shoot at far higher bit depth (more data = better grading in comp) over 4x more megapixels and with awesome slow motion capabilities.

So yes, if you're comparing the raw footage that each shoots, resized to YouTube resolutions and not color graded...the Canon stacks up REALLY well.

When you enter into production environments, not so much.

Also the gear needed to use the 5D like a movie camera adds up lots

  • Yeah digitalwavemusic, you need to give us more information on the Red. What were you shooting in 4480 x 1920? Is this the older Red One with the Mysterium sensor or the Mysterium X. Also which 80mm and 50mm lens? I'm not saying I don't believe you but your leaving an enormous amount gray area that renders this video BULLSHIT. Frankly this video just seems like propaganda from Canon.

  • So, maybe the author will just show 4K version of this picture both on Red 1 and Mark 2? ;)

  • Also, the RED is capturing in pure RAW so it's not going to have any fancy processing as the movie files on the Canon will. It looks desaturated and a bit zeroed because it is.

  • Not sure the point of comparing the two at the same settings. Should have knocked down the 5D a few stops to match the exposures. All this does is demonstrates that the 5D will do better in low light. Of course it looks overexposed... it IS overexposed here.

  • lol red is way underexposed and 5dmark ii overexposed :> ....

  • @TheoO18 better to be under than over, the reason why its under is because its meant for post so its easy to CC

  • @shankeith Yes you are perfectly right ;) but he could very well adjust the settings for 5d mark ii not to be overexposed

  • @TheoO18 Both are straight out of camera. The Red has the ability to alter the metadata in post without damaging the quality. He is showing SOOC video.

  • I hope nobody is believing that a 5D is as good or better than a Red... it is true that if you can't operate a Red you should use a 5D, which is already a great camera.

  • This is the must stupid video I've ever seen.

  • the red one has more detail in the sky and other bright areas, possibly due to the exposure. Canon seems to have more colour and is more imediately pleasing to the eye. Maybe the setting on the red one allows for better post production?

  • Wow, the 2nd Top Comment & everyone that liked it are Idiots

It clearly says red one vs 5dmark2

  • WTF.......red one my ass..........it was shot with same 5d, only different image adjustment....

  • who the fuck would spend 25 grand on redone

  • @project419 Me for example, cuz it's amazing camera you can't even comapre it to the canons dslr

  • @project419 I agree, Project. HD looks so good, but it's still far from looking like film, unless you have a degree at a film school and know EXACTLY how to make it look as cinematic as film. For 25 K, you can buy a used arri s16, film stock, and make a professional movie. Red one/etc, only looks like film if you have film-knowledged people who have much experience working on set. It's still such an 'ify' thing. It may look filmic, it may not. More than often--not.

  • @altermann1ify yeah. ur right most def. but that baby is expensive. so u think if one doesnt know to operate it to a certain degree it might look shitty?

  • @project419 I think almost anything will usually look shitty in an operators hand if they don't know what they're doing/how to use it. All I know is that my HV20 makes nice images, and it's NOOOOO red one. I made two shorts on 16mm, with hardly any light/equipment (Bolex, mind you/one spotlight) and the 16mm blew away anything I ever recorded on hv20. Colors are far superior, better latitude, more resolution, and above all, the 'movie-like' quality that's hard to get with digital.

  • @altermann1ify HOLY SNAPS HV20? i hva heard and seen those camera. the size did fool me lol

  • @project419 lol. Mine is a toy compared to the Redone! :)

  • 5dm2 is the king, it's smaller, lighter, cheaper and better.

  • @le0401 Better than red one ? :D don't make me laugh

  • @le0401 In no way is that correct. Red One is a professional camera. In no way is it better than the 5D; for their prices, maybe. But stats-wise, no way

  • 5dmk2 beats red cam hands down.

  • @le0401 WTF u talking about?

  • @Qzyxya sorry

  • @le0401 - how so? To be honest I'd love that to be true since I shoot with a 5dII, but comparing equipment side by side it isn't a 4.4.4 camera.Thats not to say you can't produce a better movie with it when in the right hands, but technologically speaking, RED is "better". The question is "is it worth the price?" That is the real topic-With the DSLR's 1080p, it is increasingly difficult to see why a new kid on the block (chronologically) should invest into RED, etc. - when DSLR's look so good

  • RED sucks. Too much $. Look at movie "LIKE CRAZY"..it WON sundance...Paramount bought it for 4 million on FEB 2 2011!! (tell me how many RED movies (1000's) are sitting in people's closets collecting dust. LIKE CRAZY shot on 7D with PL mount and 3 cooke prime rental lenses 18mm, 32mm and 85mm. It comes down to the STORY STORY STORY. and then SOUND SOUND SOUND. If you have amazing images and crap SOUND...the whole movie is CRAP no matter how good the STORY.

  • If you know your stuff you would understand why the RED is a lot better. The dynamic range on the RED completely owns the 5D2. You can clearly see the blacks & whites clipping & are being blown out on the 5D. But when you look at the RED, it gives you so much room to work when color correcting. But then again, you apply a good picture style on the 5D and you'll see how much better the DSLR can perform when it comes to dynamic range. I'm a proud owner of a 5D2 :]

  • You cant match a motion pic cam with an untrue 1080 digital cam

  • @jewdowski what r u talking about?

  • @Qzyxya - what are you talking about - if you're going to chime in, please, be specific - or at least tell us who you are talking to, or in reference to. If you are talking to ME and MY comment - back up your entry. Show me how a entry level camera can't shoot a better movie than other more expensive equipment. There may be SOME shots where moire comes into play - but its not very common... and like Qzyxya said, its the story. A specific shot isn't so important as to merit 25x the price.

  • @captainjman1976 Umm...

    "Qzyxya said, its the story"

    I am qzyxya...

I don't really want to argue about this... you win whatever. I don't even remember your point. This isn't even relevant to me.

  • People who invested in 25,000 dollar equipment are going to be pissed off that 2500 dollar equipment is catching up the same way a guy who paid 2500 for a 5d2 is a little pissed that a t2i at 1/3 the cost has nearly identical capabilities. Yes there are differences, but the gap is shrinking - todays entry level DSLR outperforms the best of cameras a few years back. At some point quality will equalize and the STORYTELLING will separate the men from the boys.

  • @captainjman1976 men from boys?

A kid who buys a t1i and has a good story will be better than a old man with a red epic and shit story.

Just because he's old doesn't make his stories better.

    You're right about everything else.

  • @Qzyxya - you misunderstood the context of the word "old"... the point is that folks who were into movie making a few years back ARE the old guys - the new guys are the ones who can buy a t2i or equivalent. It has nothing to do with age, just a chronological order. I have seen plenty of videos from guys who had no talent in the storytelling and equipment and it looked worse than my camcorder despite the fact they rented red one for thousands of dollars! Did anyone else think I meant age here?

  • @captainjman1976 OOOHHHH. I get what you mean.

    Whoops misunderstanding.

What camera do you use? DSLR?

    I have a t2i with a 30-300, 28-135,50 prime,and 10-24.

    I need a macro though.

You have any suggestions? I can't decide between the 60mm and 100mm macros... or maybe just an extension tube...

  • @Qzyxya - I shoot with 2 different DSLR's, a 5d2 and 7d. That way I can use the benefit of the full frame when I want it, and get more reach with the crop factor of 1.6 on the APC sensor. Lenses: 50mm 1.2L, 16-35mm 2.8L, 24-70mm 2.8L, 70-200 2.8L II IS USM, 100mm macro 2.8L, and 100-400mm 4.5-5.6L. I like the 100mm macro a little better because it has IS, and you can be a little further away from the object. Especially if its alive! I also use the 2xII extender for air shows, etc.

  • @captainjman1976 Light equpment, scenarios, costume, welll the whole art deparment. CGI, production values... And yet twhat you say already happened, so you are 50 % right, cause lars (for example) didnt need a good quality cinematography but even with a DSLR he need more like he prove in Melancholia. $

  • @captainjman1976

I totally agree, however, the RED ONE is a professional cinema camera, you have easier and faster control and the big difference - you are not watching the full potential of the RED ONE on youtube. In the theater is where it's at ;) The commercial equipment is catching up pretty fast, but I doubt that one day I'll watch a movie in IMAX made with a cheap camera. Companies that rent professional equipment make serious business out of that.

  • @captainjman1976 Best comment I have read ever hands down! soo true

  • @captainjman1976 Amen to that.

  • @captainjman1976 I think you have no idea, whats the real reason between these two cameras!!

To say that a Dslr is better as a RedOne, is really crackbrained.

For real Video/Film, the Dslr are really bullshit!

  • @AcrossTheStereo Though I use DSLR I must admit...this is a really crack pot proof. I mean, I guess they are comparable if it's some guy using a RED camera for a vacation....

  • @AcrossTheStereo - you obviously missed the meaning of my post. I specifically said that the technology is better, but that the gap is closing. Now more than ever. At the end of the day you can make a fantastic movie with a DSLR and a shitty movie with the best camera produced. its about your skills, your story, NOT equipment. If you think the camera makes the movie - it is you who is crackbrained. Sure, if all other variables are the same RED is better (currently)

  • @captainjman1976 Dude...you just said the exact same thing I keep telling people. You took the word right out of my mouth. thumbs up

  • @captainjman1976 hmm. If Canon 5D Mark II is such a good camera why doesnt the film makers/directors use that one instead of Red?

And with Filmakers/directors i mean the movies that are gonna be showed in the theater.

  • @Birdythebob -Its funny to see you guys get all bent out of shape by the truth. Makes me think you are in the business of renting or selling this equipment. You may have a problem with reading comprehension-re-read it until you understand my comment. But I will dumb it down for you.Compared to 10 years ago consumer video is CATCHING UP / CLOSING THE GAP (not surpassed for you who are language challenged) and that equipment alone does not make a good movie, a lesser camera can make a better movie!

  • @captainjman1976 You don't exactly understand what makes RED a quality movie camera. The 5D can turn out some fantastic images, but it is incredibly limited in terms of actual cinematography tools. The RED, Alexa, and Genesis are LIGHTYEARS ahead. Educate yourself, you have no idea what you're talking about. There's a hell of a lot more to it than the actual image.

  • Part 1: @IbeJigsaw - quite the opposite - I know exactly what RED can do. If you read all my posts on this page put together you wouldn't have made that comment. We get the 4.4.4 benefits, what you are missing is the GAP is shrinking. Its not light years, its a decade at most ahead of DSLR's - MAYBE!!! The gap is closing rapidly. Yep, I understand the dynamic range too - BUT, and this is the main point, you CAN make a better movie with a DSLR

  • @captainjman1976 Are you saying that you could shoot a bad movie on an Arri Alexia if given a bad script bad actors bad direction bad lighting and bad camera work.

But given Good story good lighting good direction good actors you could shoot a better movie on a D5.

Thats what I'm getting from that post ;-)

(The Reds a basterd for hand held) (although ultra primes have a smoth action which helps you to forget)

  • @stu0things0and0stuff - I think its actually comical to see the RED guys argue to the contrary. They obviously have something to lose. And if I were in their shoes, heavily invested and needing to perpetuate spin to the contrary - I WOULDN"T ! LOL. I admit when I am wrong, apparently they cant. Movie magic never was and never will be because of a camera. Its from all the variables you mentioned. And the cameras of today are really good - just wait 10 years, then they are f*cked royally

  • @IbeJigsaw Part 2: the equipment doesn't make the movie, its who is operating it and promoting the end result. Look at what amateurs in their teens are able to make, compared to what was possible a decade ago. If I were in the shoes of hollywood producers I would be worried too. Now you don't have to be somebody to shoot a quality movie/show. Thats why 3D started, the technology was there for a LONG time, the reason why we see it now is to put up more barriers to amateurs

  • @IbeJigsaw Part 3: but at some point soon - all that will be history. The days of 10 major directors in Hollywood is numbered! Mark my words, in 20 years re-read this thread and we will see who was right and who was wrong. And with personal computers and Adobe or Final Cut Pro, the post is not a multi-million dollar investment anymore. Look at shows like Leveraged - they use RED, but in another decade I wouldn't be surprised to see a high end DSLR

  • @captainjman1976 So essentially you're assuming that digital motion picture camera will remain stagnant? I don't argue the power of the DSLR, but they can't remain at the same price point and have the functionality of a movie camera in the foreseeable future. You can absolutely make a great movie on a DSLR, but they won't be an industry standard. Another major problem with DSLR's is that they shoot progressive, causing headaches for numerous departments, namely VFX.

  • @IbeJigsaw -Now thats the most intelligent rebuttal yet!I believe there will be advances in 2D digital recordings, but how much more is there really to improve on? Thats the question. Is there a real need for more resolution? If so, is there a need for 2x? 20x? 1000x? At some point we will meet a virtual max resolution/dynamic range needed for 2D. We are nearing that point and because of that I believe that DSLR's will catch up.My est: 2 decades MAX from now until consumer 2d video catches up.

  • @IbeJigsaw dude why boder answering to some one who doesnt know... every camare has its pros and cons... If you have the chance to film on a HIGH BUDGET camera do it, if you want a mid... then use it, dont complain and just do it right. yes of course there is more than just what your eyes can see if its lighted right or not... (tons of things and light years from one camera to the other). My self I would prefere to use the 5D just for some fashion shots.

  • @IbeJigsaw DSLRs are compact. I love that aspect. DSLRs are ahead in a lot of aspects.

  • @Nihilism13 Sure, they're compact - but then, so is the RED Epic. if anything, look at the C300 as a possible choice (still a lacking movie camera, but regardless). Here's the thing, depth of field does not equal movie.

  • @IbeJigsaw I agree. The poster of this video can't even keep the camera steady at 50mm... I would rather see smooth flip camera footage.

  • @Nihilism13 Of course, it also depends on the type of content you're creating. For commercials, low budget music videos, corporate - the 5D is fantastic. The C300 will, in my opinion, become the tool of choice for docs (I see it pushing ahead of the "Scarlet").

  • yeah what picture style is the canon because u can achieve the same kind of quality with the mark 2 as the redone

  • @k1eee umm.. since when did the mark 2 shoot at 4k?? I didn't get that memo.

  • @captainjman1976 I respect your opinion but I completely disagree. When hd cameras were first introduced they were expensive, but as time went on the technology became outdated and they could offer higher quality hd consumer cameras. Now that the 1080p/720p video is becoming the standard. 4k and 5k are becoming the new professional standard. It's technology. Find me a DSLR that can shoot 5k, doesn't overheat, and performs at the iso's that the red can, then you can say the gap is shrinking.

  • @benevans192 - I can very easily and truthfully say the gap is shrinking. Listen, there is always going to be a "next step" technologically speaking. But unlike any other time in history, you can record really fantastic video and produce excellent quality, all without spending a fortune. Is there a difference, sure... but its not as substantial as in the past. Look at an old JVC VHS camcorder vs Hollywood - it was horrible. Today the GAP is getting closer and quality gap is shrinking.

  • @benevans192 thats not what i meant by quality i was talking about the picture style

  • i dont think is a good test ..Canon can better the that

  • What the hell picture style was on the 5d!!??

  • use a tripod, set picture style to neutral or flat (which will have to be downloaded). The cameras are nearly the same except the red one has a different kind of sensor that sends the entire image rather than one row at a time. The result is better panning and jerky shots, such as running shots.

  • the girl > the cameras. And this is coming from a photographer

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR DOING THIS !!!! the world needs ALL the comparisons professionally done with RED vs. 5D vs. GH2 vs. 7D vs. T3i and more....

I believe the RED needs to be compared to these DSLRs with expensive lenses...

  • @jackhammer10101 If you haven't yet.. Watch "The Great Camera Shootout 2011" by Zacuto. They have 3 series in which is FULLY and professionally compare a wide variety of cameras like the RED, ARRI, Canon 5D MkII, 7D, Sony F3, FS100 etc. They test the cameras with a $25,000 cine-zoom lens. I HIGHLY recommend you watch it :)

  • You need to shoot in a flat picture style like cinestyle on the 5D. Then compare. They would look almost identical. The 5D and the RED ONE are very close in comparison in my opinion if you know what you're doing. The standard picture style you're using for the 5D makes it look like deal

  • they both are good you just have to know how not to underexpose red and overexpose 5D. Everyone seems to know the best, even people who did not tough either.

  • This is a ridiculous comparison, RED footage HAS to be color graded, it never looks good straight out of the camera. A more fair comparison would have been shooting with the Canon Cinestyle profile on the 5D and then color correcting neither. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for the 5D, I own one, but this is a very misleading comparison for people that don't know better.

  • people here are blind

  • red look like cinema

    canon look like home video

  • The 5d was overexposed lol. If the settings on the 5d was done right the 5d footage would have looked waaaaay better.

  • the comparison is not fair...but you gotta admit there is no way a 3k caera can win over a 15k camera

  • RED ONE FOREVERS!!!!!!

  • ur 5D is overexposed...

  • really? What about a decent camera operator ?

  • Did you sleep witt her? Lol

  • Red One MX has 13 stops of dynamic range. No canon even comes close to that. If this guy has enough money to buy those two cameras he has enough money to learn how to operate them.

Oh yeah and 4k resolution is 8x 1080p

  • would you pay that much extra money for that ? i wouldn't

  • how many stops does the red lose? one thing I've noticed when being on set with the reds is they need a ton of light.

  • ho my god!.... canon 5D is so amazing and reduces Red One to shit that i will buy 10 of them! can't belive peter jackson is so stupid to make movies with that Red pice of shit.. when you can do it with SDLR's!.. and if by any chance you are a fucking yellow pice of shit reading this comment understand that!: SARCASM MEANS “a sharp, bitter, or cutting expression or remark; a bitter jibe or taunt MIXED WITH IRONY!!!!!!!!

  • @Hassenmusic Pussy

  • @gatler05 lol! hahahahahahahahaha!!.. what an idiot!... now my dear filipino! Do you get sarcasm? hahaha

  • @Hassenmusic Get mad cunt

  • @gatler05 hahahahaha LOL.. you get english lessons! ENGLISH is an european creation!

  • in love... the canon 5d and the girl... k

  • not a good comparison. if you were going to compare properly you have to change the 5D's picture profile to a flatter profile. Then the exposure is another factor then white balance as well. good try though.

  • The 5D was over exposed.

  • Nice girl. Cameras?.. whatever :)

  • Yeah yeah... when you don't know how to use a camera you don't make that kind of video. Thanks. BTW the Red One is obviously better than the 5DMarkII.

  • dynamic range alone justifies the RED

  • 0:06 watch the cars. On Mark 2 you see on top white. One red one you see every colour. 0:24 watch the sky. On Mark 2 you see nothing but white, on Red one, well you see the sky. Look at the trees. Little parts of the tree disapeer on Canon Mark 2, just compare. 0:28 again: Grey car seems to be white on Canon. Last shot is a joke.

  • 5d looks good

  • Always makes me laugh when people look confused at a well exposed RED image and say "errr...it looks flat and crap". These people obviously know very little about dynamic range, exposure and shooting raw. But yeah in response to the video. In future try to get the settings as close as possible for both cameras.

  • Only came for the cute girl. You don't deserve that camera btw

  • Step 1 learn how to expose. Both cameras look like SHIT with this test video. And you can't compare 1:1 iso levels.

  • this is p///shet// its not real its imposible//

  • Well the 5D looks blown-out.

  • You had two completely different focal lengths on the cameras and the 5D wasn't even locked down.

  • All this demonstrates is that you have more money than you know what to do with.

The two cameras are not even meant for the same application. People use the Red One for cinematic work. The best you can do with a 5D is maybe shoot a TV commercial.

  • wow the canon is so blown out dude.

  • ho sure.. a 5D much better than a cinema cam!:. completly obvious!

  • @Hassenmusic Are you a fucking dumb ass, none of the canon DSLRs at the moment even shoot at a true 1080P. Don't be fucking gullible just because it says 1080P, it actually has to many artifacts in it's sensor for video to even go past 720P resolution lines faggot ass. Then there comes the 20mb maximum bit rates for video, compared the 200+ mb read bit rates for the red. TRUE 4K resolutions at 24P on the red, in camera RGB HDR, 120FPS, HD-Spi out, true HDMI. You're a fucking moron

  • @gatler05 .. pal!:. the only mindless idiot is you!.. all the mambo jumbo you just said IS WHAT I SAID! but you idiot americans dont GET SARCASM! ..don't you know sarcastic cuotes little pice of shit?

IT'S OBVIOUS A DSLR DOES NOT MATCH A CINEMA CAM!.. LEARN TO READ ASSHOLE! get out of your teenage and then try talking!, DO NOT STICK YOUR NOSE EVRYWHERE! and shut all yo

  • wow... can't belive it... the 5D is great!:.. i thought i'd only get 1080p from a REAL CINEMA CAMERA!.. i'll forget that and i'll get the 5D.. i bet coppola would look like shit next to my films!:. why i never saw this before????.. sky heavens are open to me to give me the greatest resolution in THE WHOLE CINEMA BUSSINES!. thank you cannon!:. never thought your cheaper cammera would ram totaly the RED CAMERA performance!. i am truly in love! who needs 50.000USD cameras??

  • @Hassenmusic You're fucking un-believably retarded. I SHOOT WITH BOTH THE FUCKING RED AND 5D. You don't know anything about cameras. THE red shoots 4 times the resolution the 5D does, and trust me in camera HDR video up to 120FPS the 5D can't do that. I prefer the GH2 over the 5D mk2 any day, espically with the 144MB bit rate hack.

  • @gatler05 what an asshole.. ok teenager.. let me explain to you what's going on, cuz you are so stupid toi realize even thogh i'm telling you:!:.. I KNOW RED CAM, I KNOW WHAT IT DOES... AND THIS VIDEO IS STATING THAT 5D DOES BETTER!.. THEY MAKE LOOK RED FOOTAGE WORST THAN IT IS! so it pisses me off and i sarcasticlly say: "SURE, A 5D DOING BETTER THAN A RED", but you are so fucking stupid to understand sarcasm and you print me an explain on both cams!.. u don't get english, you are mexican!

  • @gatler05 YOU DON'T GET IT DO YA?! i'll put it easy!... i hate this shit propaganda video!.... i use sarcasm!:. but i also hate you.. for being a stupid asshole who throws himself up on saying shit.. without even understanding what i was talking about!... you fucking dumb asshole dick-sucker son of a bitch! you fucking idiot!

  • @Hassenmusic Learn how to write a complete sentence, dip shit. You're a pile of shit

  • @gatler05 I write the way i want to! YOU LEARN TO CATCH SARCASM HAHA FUCKING sack of crap! haha it took me 3 times to make you understand you are a morron, and that you were saying shit towards someone who agreed with you from the begining! hahaha.. what an idiot!

  • @Hassenmusic You're a pile of shit, moron*. Yet you still fail to spell, you know nothing about cinematography or cameras.

  • @gatler05 so you are the expert in evrything, so much: that you are also an expert on me and you know that i don't anything!... pal.. shut the fuck up.. the more shit you say, more stupid you look! you stupid mexican!!

  • @Hassenmusic You're calling me Mexican, but look how you type and how you talk out of your ass. Get mad faggot, just because you fucked up.

  • @Hassenmusic I'm Hawaiian and Filipino

  • Comment removed

  • @gatler05 filipino? wrong! what you are is a fucking asshole!.

/Asian? even worst at least mexicans have got beautiful girls and good rockbands !... Don't come around talikng about grammar to me you fuck!.. i'm american! i was born speaking english. I WASN'T BORN SPEAKING some wieird dialect from a third world island.

LEARN TO READ ENGLISH!, WHENEVER YOU CAN: TRY TO UNDERSTAND SARCASM, OTHERWISE SHUT YOUR YELLOW MOUTH! you just made the most ridiculous scene by not understanding what i said!

  • @Hassenmusic The only bad thing here, is you dude. You're a pile of shit, that knows nothing about cinema, has horrible grammar, gullible and just plain out retarded. You're going no where, get fucking mad over the internet. Because people like you are pathetic
